Here we will be tying the Bismó tubefly. The Bismó is as I understand it a variation of the Sunray Shadow fly. The Bimsó can be tied with blue, white, green, pink and all sorts of colours for the underwing. The fly is a great option when it comes to fishing for Atlantic Salmon and is really popular for it. It requires advanced tying skills for it and a needle to hold the tube. It took me few times to get it flawless in the way I wanted it to look. When making the Bismó I strongly recommend to tie like 5-10 of them and work all of them step by step. Begin with the mylar piping of all of the, tie the wings on all of them and then finish all of them with the job to put on the eyes. Great fly and works both for salmon and sea trout.

Hi Michael, I'm on a summer holiday right now. I will make a special video about the hook set-up for tube fly fishing.

I've watched several guys tye on tubs. But nobody finishes them. How do the tubes go onto the hook?

In this case, it's optional to put a little silicon at the end of the tube to hold the hook in place. However when a fish strikes the tube, you want only the hook to get stuck in the fish mouth. So it means the tube can be loose on the tippet. It saves the tube and the hook takes all the tension.
