If you are covering a song written by someone else and there is a copyright claim, this is the correct outcome. Claims don’t have any impact in your channel they just mean that if you monetise the video, revenue goes to the songwriter instead of the performer, or sometimes a combination of the two.
If you used loops and samples from CD's so most probably did or will do other producers worldwide. So if TH-cam (with Shazam technology) detects at least a portion of your track that already sounds like other track(s) already submitted to TH-cam with monetization (this can be done only thru distributor not indivindually), they will give you a copyright claim notice. The fact that you have done something on your own, even if you used only a vocal line from a loop library, this could easily have been used by a few others too that already have submitted their tracks with youtube ID monetization. Only if your work is 100% original (you play all instruments and sing too) then you will not have any claim.
Hey pete! this is not on the same topic as the video but in your opinion do you think the iphone internal mic is better than an external mic like the one on the apple earphones? i’ve heard some say the mic that’s built into the iphone is better but i’m not totally sure! any help is appreciated.
Hey there. Depends on what you’re recording and the age of the iPhone. Newer iPhones have better internal mics and would likely be in better condition (not have crud built up on the mic). Older iPhones mics are not great so often earbud mics are better. Personally if I want a quick vocal recording, I use the headset mic on my JBLs - th-cam.com/video/tam_Pgfosho/w-d-xo.html
Thanks, Pete. I've sent music on CD to the copyright office in Washington DC, USA. Also, over 50 lyrics. I wanted to trademark my bands name. But, it got hyjacked by a college band. BTW, they were aweful. Have a great weekend and be safe out there.

HI Pete - on a (sort of) related topic, do you normally add metadata within the wav files uploaded to services such as Spotify, etc.? If yes, how do you do this? I though I had added these details in iTunes, but they don't appear in the actual file when I open it in Finder. :) Thx.
Hey there Paul. Yeah; WAV files don’t support metadata like MP3 and M4A do. You need to just upload the raw file and then add your metadata in your distributor’s upload form.
