Dr. Kai Rains from the University of South Florida discusses her fascinating and eye-opening research on the historical changes to Florida's coastal watersheds, particularly in the Treasure Coast region.
Dr. Rains is a Research Associate Professor at the University of South Florida and the Secretary General of the Society of Wetland Scientists. She studies ecosystem response to environmental stress, including nutrient limitation and global change. Her research spans from the level of the organism, e.g., root-mycorrhizal associations, to the landscape, including the application of geospatial tools, with a focus on waters and wetlands.
