June 28, 2019---Check out IPMS chapters in your area. It stands for International Plastic Modelers Society and there are chapters all over the world. I know more than one modeler in Reno, Nevada chapter that builds models for other people, mainly aircraft or sci-fi. And the price will vary....do you want it just out of the box with a standard paint scheme or a custom one? Do you want it detailed? Unfortunately, this guy, like basically EVERY other truck lover only wants some fancy paint scheme or bullshit modifications, but there's no REAL detailing done. How about NO air lines, light cords or glad hands on the back of the truck or even glad hands on the trailers? Retired after driving truck for 15 years, so I KNOW what's missing. And I really get a laugh when I see someone making a apocalypse semi with about 500 pounds of steel plating that some how is bolted to a FIBERGLASS hood?! And remember, you're PAYING someone to build this. Too many people scream when (for example) I'd charge someone a MINIMUM of $150 for something out of the box, with you supplying the kit. I'd have AT LEAST 20 hours into building it out of the box. Who wants to build models for $5 an hour? Remember, the modeler supplies the paint and glue which isn't free and don't forget, the modeler may have to ship it back to you if you can't find someone locally to do it. Also, check with your local hobby shop and I don't mean Michaels, etc. There, you will see what others have built and can always ask who did it, leaving your name/ phone number with the shops owner. Think there's only TWO reefer makers in the U.S. This is the refrigeration unit on the front of a trailer. Don't recall seeing any manufacturers logo on the front of them and they DO get dirty from the reefers engine.
Ive got a few vids on my page... Ive modded quite a few rigs into custom show trucks. We like the same styles fo sho.....I like a little more stretch and slammage, but you gotta add the C.B antennas, right??
