Indeed. It's a prime example of how a little love and caring can reverse the effects of the opposite behavior. I have a little (12-pound) dog who was rescued from a high-kill shelter, and I would rather wrap my hands around a red-hot fire poker than do anything to intentionally harm her.

I have watched many of these and they always say whether it was an owner or someone turned them in after finding them on the street...and no if people just find a dog they don't request the animal be put down as they don't own them! So yes this was the owner and that they couldn't give a dam about this wonderful dog. That owner should never be allowed to have another animal ever... and God willing no children either!

I feel like if an owner of a dog brings the dog into your clinic in this condition you should prolong the surrender process as long as possible so the police have time to get there and arrest them. How is this legal?

Rescue organizations typically have the fostering placements to have immediate personal care and safety for these pets before carefully selecting and ensuring they can have a permanent home. These foster homes are a great blessing.
Could just do it for views. Take video footage of happy healthy animal. Chain it up and let it deteriorate until dead. Show footage from before death as you rescuing it. Show earliest footage as its full recovery. Not saying this channel does it, but a ton of these miracle recovery channels just straight up torture animals for 'inspiring' videos because they get so many views.
Honestly. It can have a lot of reasons. Maybe they are just straight up awful people. Or, like in my case, have mental health issues. I had two beautiful parrots once. I loved them dearly. They were like a family to me. But when I got back into a really really bad depressive episode, I didn't give them the care they deserved. So I finally decided to give them to a better home. They now live in this privately owned huge a** bird garden where they can live a life as natural as possible. I still miss them to this day, but they deserved better. Edit 1: Hmm. I guess it could be argued, that those people could have given the dog to a better place sooner. Edit 2: And they could have fed him more. Like... Okay, nvm. Probably just awful people.

Realistically once they found out what had been done to the dog the previous owner was probably arrested. Just cause it wasn't mentioned didn't mean it didn't happen. I hope he rots in jail for a good long time

Dogs' ability to love even after experiencing cruelty is so inspiring. I've had two dogs that had been abused previously and they had such open hearts still. So glad Ryker got to find a family who would love him and cherish him.
We once had a dog that got Abused,punched and even starved but we "stole" him from them and gave him a better life he past away last year at the age of 13

Animal Rescue is how we got one of our two most recent dogs (both are gone now, sadly, and they have been for several years), a Boxer/Lab mix (but my mom is convinced that she was a Pit Bull/Lab mix instead, and I can see why she believes that, I'm inclined to believe the same). My aunt worked with a group called Homeward Bound Animal Rescue, and she was fostering one of 15 dogs they'd saved from a shelter that was going to put them to sleep simply because they were overcrowded. We happened to be visiting them for my cousin's graduation party, and for whatever reason, that dog and I just "clicked". I've never known a sweeter, more intelligent, or more sensitive dog in my life, and I grew up in a household where we had pets in the house even into my reaching adulthood. And the day we had her put to sleep (lymphoma, she was having an increasingly difficult time breathing, and she had stopped eating entirely), after we got home, I would swear that I saw her resting her head on the arm of the couch just looking at me, like she was saying goodbye. I still miss her.
How can anyone neglect a gorgeous dog like this? The fact he never gave up hope proves just how tough, strong and determined he is thank you to the people who showed him true love, acceptance and a forever home thank you

You neither need to love, nor respect, animals to see this shouldn't be done. This dog was starving, it simply wasn't being fed. This is what malnutrition leads to in a dog. When you're starving, your immune system becomes weak and all sorts of odd diseases show up. It's so cheap to feed a dog. What? $20-$40 a month?
@@xg3990 Well, it's been 5 years since I put my dog down and for the last 5 years of her life I cooked for her, but I'd still get kibble every now and then. She wouldn't go through a 20 lb bag in a month. That's.. around $32 a month, if she ate all that. Vet bills can be a major expense but not feeding them.
I've never seen a husky like that. While I wish no dog/cat/animal ever goes through that neglect and abuse, it warms my heart to see a transformation like this one. One of the most incredible ones I've seen. So happy for this goodboi for finding a loving family.

This has got tears in my eyes. I screamed out YAY when I saw how much he had gotten better. I laughed when he tried to howl with his brother. This right here has made my day. Given my little sister passed away on October 15th, with her service on November 4th, then my coronary artery bypass surgery on the 10th, I needed to smile.

Six years ago I saw a Husky at the animal shelter that had half his ears missing and scars on his nose. He was neglected by the previous owner being tied to a pole and flies eating his ears, eyes and nose. I had to wait until his abuse case was closed to take him home. He was so thankful to receive the love he always deserved. He didn't even need a leash because he never wanted to be away from home. Everyone was astonished as to how chill he was. He lived to be 11 years old and I sure do miss him so much.
@@g1967 I've had lots of animals over the years but I must admit he was my favorite. He also was a lot bigger than a regular Husky. He had blue eyes so I didn't think he had Malamute mix. He also had a protective instinct which isn't normal for a Husky. A lot of people thought he was a wolf, maybe because of his enormous size. We had to put him to sleep due to pain/unmobile from hip dysplasia on both sides. My husband and I cried over him so bad we decided that we would adopt two more instead of one. So we now have a German shepherd and another Husky. They all have such unique personalities.
Even though I'm a cat person who's not a big fan of a lot of dogs, this brought me to tears. Seeing Ryker go from zero to hero practically made my day :D

Todays i saw 3 puppies lying dead near to my pg after i came back from my vacation. My heart wrenched after watching that as I knew people living there never provided them any food and always illtreated them.Even our pg warden has never allowed them to even eat the food in the dustbin. How inhumane. I being a dog parent adopted 4 strays dogs at my home. They are always very loving and loyal to us. So I just plead everyone who ever wish to have a pet dog please adopt one from our Indie breed.They may not be so fancy but believe me they are truly loving and loyal to you.

I'm not sure why the keeper originally took the dog to the vet to be killed as that would have cost that person. Something doesn't make sense. To starve a dog then spend out to have it killed? There must be more to this than relayed.

Could just do it for views. Take video footage of happy healthy animal. Chain it up and let it deteriorate until dead. Show footage from before death as you rescuing it. Show earliest footage as its full recovery. Not saying this channel does it, but a ton of these miracle recovery channels just straight up torture animals for 'inspiring' videos because they get so many views.
Honestly. It can have a lot of reasons. Maybe they are just straight up awful people. Or, like in my case, have mental health issues. I had two beautiful parrots once. I loved them dearly. They were like a family to me. But when I got back into a really really bad depressive episode, I didn't give them the care they deserved. So I finally decided to give them to a better home. They now live in this privately owned huge a** bird garden where they can live a life as natural as possible. I still miss them to this day, but they deserved better.

Animal Rescue is how we got one of our two most recent dogs (both are gone now, sadly, and they have been for several years), a Boxer/Lab mix (but my mom is convinced that she was a Pit Bull/Lab mix instead, and I can see why she believes that, I'm inclined to believe the same). My aunt worked with a group called Homeward Bound Animal Rescue, and she was fostering one of 15 dogs they'd saved from a shelter that was going to put them to sleep simply because they were overcrowded. We happened to be visiting them for my cousin's graduation party, and for whatever reason, that dog and I just "clicked". I've never known a sweeter, more intelligent, or more sensitive dog in my life, and I grew up in a household where we had pets in the house even into my reaching adulthood.
And the day we had her put to sleep (lymphoma, she was having an increasingly difficult time breathing, and she had stopped eating entirely), after we got home, I would swear that I saw her resting her head on the arm of the couch just looking at me, like she was saying goodbye. I still miss her.

You neither need to love, nor respect, animals to see this shouldn't be done. This dog was starving, it simply wasn't being fed. This is what malnutrition leads to in a dog. When you're starving, your immune system becomes weak and all sorts of odd diseases show up.

She wouldn't go through a 20 lb bag in a month. That's.. around $32 a month, if she ate all that.

I've never seen a husky like that. While I wish no dog/cat/animal ever goes through that neglect and abuse, it warms my heart to see a transformation like this one. One of the most incredible ones I've seen. So happy for this goodboi for finding a loving family.

Six years ago I saw a Husky at the animal shelter that had half his ears missing and scars on his nose. He was neglected by the previous owner being tied to a pole and flies eating his ears, eyes and nose. I had to wait until his abuse case was closed to take him home. He was so thankful to receive the love he always deserved. He didn't even need a leash because he never wanted to be away from home. Everyone was astonished as to how chill he was. He lived to be 11 years old and I sure do miss him so much.

@@g1967 I've had lots of animals over the years but I must admit he was my favorite. He also was a lot bigger than a regular Husky. He had blue eyes so I didn't think he had Malamute mix. He also had a protective instinct which isn't normal for a Husky. A lot of people thought he was a wolf, maybe because of his enormous size. We had to put him to sleep due to pain/unmobile from hip dysplasia on both sides. My husband and I cried over him so bad we decided that we would adopt two more instead of one. So we now have a German shepherd and another Husky. They all have such unique personalities.
Such a beautiful transformation, I hope the monster who treated him badly gets what he deserves

Even though I'm a cat person who's not a big fan of a lot of dogs, this brought me to tears. Seeing Ryker go from zero to hero practically made my day :D

Dogs are the most amazingly resilient animals ever. Even when their treated like crap. They still have love in their hearts for someone willing to do good to them. Wish I was as forgiving.

Todays i saw 3 puppies lying dead near to my pg after i came back from my vacation. My heart wrenched after watching that as I knew people living there never provided them any food and always illtreated them.Even our pg warden has never allowed them to even eat the food in the dustbin. How inhumane. I being a dog parent adopted 4 strays dogs at my home. They are always very loving and loyal to us. So I just plead everyone who ever wish to have a pet dog please adopt one from our Indie breed.They may not be so fancy but believe me they are truly loving and loyal to you.
Kudos to the foster parents that didn't give up on this brave pup and ecstatic he has a wonderful new home with people that love him.

I'm not sure why the keeper originally took the dog to the vet to be killed as that would have cost that person. Something doesn't make sense. To starve a dog then spend out to have it killed? There must be more to this than relayed.
As a husky lover myself, this made me cry. I’m so happy that there are still people who are willing to take chances to make a difference for others! Even if they aren’t human, Ryker and many other animals still have a right to live and I couldn’t be happier for him!! Thank you so much to everyone who was involved!! ❤❤

May his previous owner get his just reward for the treatment of this wonderful dog. Thanks to Friends of Fay for the rescue. Friends of Fay rescued my precious dog that I adopted but wasn’t in that condition. He was healthy but just abandoned. Thank you Lord for all rescue organizations! ❤️
I hope the previous owner had died already, so they will never hurt another animal again.
