- Bad Habits are hard to break. The cows are used to eating at Danny's shop where he had turned part of it into a barn. Now that the NEW barn is ready, we have to train the cows to come to the new feeding stations. We got a bad habit to break.

Oh Wanda what a beautiful Serene setting you showed us this morning. I am so glad God blessed you and Danny with the hands to work hard and the wisdom to create your vision on this beautiful property. Mama and papa should be proud of their babies I think they've adapted extremely well and the little ones have it down Pat! I got such a kick out of the cows mooing and Danny calling them over. Boy this brings back memiries of when I was growing up with holstein milk cows. The slightest change through them for a loop until they were retrained! Have fun & enjoy them every day!
Watching you with your cows is as good as watching Farmer Derek in Kansas play his trombone for his. I love it. Love the new barn too. If I wasnt allergic to dairy and beef I would be so stinking jealous. Love Love Love.

I finally got got a Dexter cow!!!!!!!!!! Two weeks ago, yesterday she had a little heifer!!!! I have watching you for a long time and you have really helped me decide on a Dexter. Thank you so much for all of your videos that were a big part of my research.

Do you recommend I put 7 dust granules over my freshly tilled dirt and then spraying it down, to get rid of grubs. I noticed they were eating my veggie scraps I planted. I had to move a couple of cabbages due to realizing they were not spaced out far enough and the two I moved had grubs attached to the roots! Thank you for your time. I need to get all my seedlings in the dirt asap!
If this is your only garden spot do what you have to. If not put the chickens in it this year and turn the soil over till next year.

I never thought about it before, but now I know why they say..."you can do _____ until the cows come home"! LOL. This really made me laugh this morning. Thank you. My family and I moved to Missouri in 1993 and most of the pictures from the trip are of cows. My kids and I had never seen one before! I've since moved back (sadly) to Southern California, but still had not put 2 andn2 together with that saying. Those sounds they make, incredible. Made my morning!!!
When I'm ready to get cows, I would like to buy a breeding pair from Deep South Homestead. I want Dexter/Jerseys for milk and meat. Unless there's a farm in Alabama somewhere that sells these because I haven't found anywhere that have these, only full size. We only have 10 acres, and I believe these would be the best fit for our small homestead.
Dexter's are the best breed I've ever had. I've raised many breeds over my years.
