Actually, in most corners, to hit the inside or outside line with both being optimized, (as fast as both can be ridden), they are about the same speed. That is why you can see Eli railing around people on the outside. Just think it is a slower line for a second, and he has you.

I hate they they are all so close in speed. That means the tracks do not do separate the talent very well. When you are a bit off, (like .2 seconds a lap), and end up 8th, it really kills your confidence. That is why you never hear a 450 top racer, even champions say, "I am going to win this race". They don't have the confidence. Only winning races gives you confidence to win. It is easier than ever to get psychologically beat down, (Roczen is a prime example), when the tracks are designed to keep everybody the same speed. That is what I recognize compared to when we were the best in the world.

He qualified 4th in first qualifying so I’m sure they told him to not to too much in 2nd qualifying. Ended up P8 overall. Very good
