I’m headed to Shreveport Saturday to get my new used boat the head back to Indianapolis. And the weather is not supposed to be great. So I’ll definitely be cleaning
White vinegar and water mixed 50/50 in a spray bottle for water spots. It works better than store bought products. It’s one of those things you won’t believe till you try it.
Get a remote drain plug! Flow-rite makes a popular one that is opened & closed via a manual actuator in the splashwell area. If you forget to close it before you launch, you can do close the drain easily without putting the boat back on the trailer.
Also check your nuts. It’s funny to say. But my partner went violently cat walking across George on day 2 of Toyota series last year. Transom mounts from mount to Jack plate loosened and literally snapper the mounts. I followed him back to Georgia with his motor on the back deck. We did take my boat out the next day to dexter and bust 25lbs
Thanks for spreading the word about the safety gear, I'm a boarding officer in the CG and you have no idea how many people are missing required items....for anyone that has questions, download the CG app and plug in your boats info and it will tell you what's required....I watched in one of your previous vids, I saw that you were running Lowrance, Garmin, and Humminbird. What's the thought process behind that?
Mr .Crews May I ask a question why you have 2-3 different electronics on your boat if you can only have 1 manufacture on the boat what would you run and why ?? Right now I run the hummingbird SOlix gen 2 but now with all the new stuff out there I wonder what most of you top pros would use if you can only use 1
I have used lemon Fresh Pledge furniture polish on my boats for over 30 years. Stuff takes the water spots off and polishes it at the same time. Always before I leave the ramp.
I have also used that in the past and it does work great. But.... don’t step on the gunnels when they are wet, you’ll end up in the drink. It is slick! And smells good lol
i know Im asking randomly but does any of you know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot my password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Jordan Andre Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
My new Lund pro guide had wire conduit run front to back with pull rope installed. Surprised more boat makers don’t do this. Also, remember to attach nylon cord to the wire when you pull so you have a rope in place for any more wire pulls. Great video
With the glow rods. If you tie on jet line with a half hitch knot, then tape the half hitch knots. Push the jet line thru your hull. It shouldn't break nearly as easy. Plus, you can keep using the jet line to pull your electronics wiring with. When i'm done. I leave the jet line in the hull for the next time i need to fish something thru. If it's in there for a while. I'll pull in new line before adding the weight of anything else just in case the jet line gets frayed or becomes weakened some how.
Is the life jacket rule something for where you live? We don’t have that rule in PA? I’m guessing if you have a standard type v, but a type v with type 2 or 3 performance, you shouldn’t need another one
Jason, you are correct. I added a post explaining this. I even helped a buddy test this in court, and he won! A game warden didn't understand the rule either, and gave my buddy a citation when he had a Type III inflatable PFD beside him on the deck. He took the PFD to court, where his case was summarily dismissed.
@@jasonmausteller2488 the printed label will say something close to 'type V device with type III performance when worn'. I've read that language on some of the lower end products. A USCG regulations division person explained that means it's your type III ONLY if you have it on and secured (buckled).
John, you're incorrect about the requirement for the "regular" PFD when you use an inflatable PFD on the boat. What you say is true for certain inflatable devices, but not most. If the inflatable device is a Type I, Type II, or Type III PFD (read the printed label), then NO OTHER PFD is required. You are welcome to check with the Coast Guard (as I did). I have not found any state that doesn't follow this approach as all I've visited adopt the USGC regulations as stated. Where people get into trouble (and the source for the incorrect information you relayed) is IF they have a "special use" inflatable device that is certified as Type V, the USCG considers it to function as a legal PFD only if worn. That's where the "when you take it off" complication comes into play. If you take off a Type V, it's no longer your legal PFD, so you need another one in the boat. If you take off an inflatable Type II or III, it is still a legal PFD when you drop it onto the deck of the boat, and no violation has occurred. Most good inflatable PFDs are Type II, or Type III. The lower price-point devices are where the buyer must beware - never buy a Type V inflatable, and you'll be fine.
Great info! I wasn’t going to mention the inflatable thing but wanted people to be aware. I always use the foam jackets because I don’t want to rely on something mechanical to keep me afloat. Thanks for sharing
@@JohnCrews I totally understand & agree. I like inherently buiyant PFDs for running on plane. I switch to inflatable at times while fishing only. Also, inflatable performance is compromised in cold weather.
Burapp. What!! Wait a min bro. Out board what ? Lol. Engine my man. Motor has no recuperating parts. I couldn't agree more with all the rest. My old nitro had water spots so bad i had to cut and rub all the boat and engine then wax it back was no fun 30+ hrs
I love these boat tips video. I fish in high calcium content water, the water spots are a huge pain. I got a white motor and a white boat for that reason. I will try to find that ceramic coat for sure. Great tip. Gotta keep these nuts tight man! Got an unrelated question, this is the time of year when every YT channel are giving winter fishing tips, they all keep repeating to fish rock banks because rocks are heating the water and attracts fish. Although I'm not a science major I smell a myth there. What is your opinion? Could that be fact checked? Maybe a collab with a science channel?
@@JohnCrews thank you it’s looks shiny and slippery I did it on my brand new Z18 windex and bass pro shops ceramic wax 👍😎 any tips on the galvanized trailer? And when pulling the boat out and back on the trailer do you just wipe it down or do you use a certain chemical?

Hi John ,I also carry a oar just incase a total loss of power
That’s smart
Will the wax hurt the logos?
Not at all

#1. Remember your boat plug
#2. Bring your boat plug
#3. Remember your boat plug
#4. Check your boat plug before launching.
lol.
Got that right ! Bring the spare or 2 Leave them in the boat.

On the 3 brands, each has their advantage so I’m going to run them all this year and see what I think
Thanks for these tips. I didn’t know about the rope for the throw cushion.
Go through the boat and identify where all the fuses are located and make sure you have at least 1 spare of each size and type.
Good call!

Thankyou as always for all your vids, I've learned so much over the years from you sir. Do you know off hand the colors of your seats? :) 👌

John, is it possible to get some 25 packs of D-Bombs in a color y’all don’t offer it the big packs in on the Missile site?
Not usually. We offer 7 colors in 25 count bags but we are often sold out of a few of them
Solid advice!
