Beautiful.... I saw these on the road all the time in the early 80's. Sure brings back fond memories of the road....... Brings back so many good memories. When I was in high school I worked for my step dad who was OTR with Ogden Transfer and storage. Until I joined the Corps in '82. I swamped for a driver when we were down and he drove one of these. Well, step dad is over 70 now and I lost my Mom last month. Father time can be a real SOB, huh.... But the memories!
I'm 45 years old and I can't believe this truck is now a classic. I remember seeing these trucks on display at the semi lots as new off the assembly line when I was a kid.
This reminded me a lot of the 'Liner' I owned w/ my friend in the early 80's. It had a 290 that was turned up.My friend and his brother were also certified diesel mechanics & I learned a lot from both. Before the truck was put into operation, the eng. was gone over. This old dog used get a little over 7.5 m.p.g. w/ no smoke. The sleeper was smaller on ours and the truck had the White 'Velvet Ride' four spring suspension which worked quite well, surprisingly. The tractor pulled many different types of trailers, flat, box, rail pigs, trash etc. and a wet line was also installed. Thanks for this vid!
I love it. Thats the last year they made the old school dash before they went to the more modern one. Like in flds, and did away with the ac hanging off the roof. Awesome truck. I bet it will RUN too!
I drove an old cabover Freightliner when I started driving in mid 70s.These trucks were built by men for a man to drive. Truly a iron horse that a man had to drive to make sure loads got delivered.
Will have follow up videos with him he’s just down the road and I see him while working all the time because he drives a yard spotter where I start and end my day.
I remember when these cab over trucks were everywhere and back when there was several brands. Chevrolet, GMC, Ford and Chrysler all built these trucks and of course Peterbilt, Frieghtliner, Mack and While also had cab over trucks. You can still see these trucks on the movie Moving On and a few of these trucks are in the movie Smokey And The Bandit. This is definitely history.
"nan" is "not a number". many states do not record the actual miles of a vehicle after it is 10 years old. they will right in "nan" or "exempt" on the title when it is being transfered. its also common for commercial vehicles miles to be filled in as exempt due to the possibility of the odometer rolling over the 1,000,000 mile mark and starting over. with the new technology this is easier to know what the actual miles by using a scanner to read ecm miles.
Excellent!! I believe it's older than 82. Run it off of one tank. Algae could be trouble or the rubber lines are coming apart. The latest fuel also acts as a solvent to break old debris off insides of tanks.
Randy Hoffman pulled coils with that shaker...Smoked like a sumbish in the mills and the Crane operators would bitch from atop loading his wagon! I've got photos of this truck sitting next to my ol W900 at my shop from 2014.
I had problems with slime in the tank of my excavator and clogging the filters since I only use it about one month out of the year and use off road diesel. Started using either 911 or Diesel Kleen by Power Service regularly and haven't had any problems since.
The market is growing daily with new strategies and trading opportunities. Financial empowerment is our everyday chase and George has proven to be a part of this mission. his strategy is the best
I completely agree with you considering the market sentiments and how complicating the market can be. An expert like George is essential for a lucrative investment in the market
If it's black rubbery stuff I'm sure the lines are coming apart from the inside, and when that happens the lines are collapsing you probably need to change the fuel lines
@@1ChadKeegan right on my mack is my baby as well but sure would love to make that frightshaker my baby. Fyi just left the post office cap is on it's way. Let me know when you get it my brother 👍🏻
4:25 Fuel filter plugged. Yup. YOUR WHOLE fuel system, from tank to engine, needs a VERY GOOD FLUSHING ! W H O knows, what someone put into tanks. The cummins fuel injection pump, probly needs a good cleaning, as well. Anyway.....take care of OLD STUFF. You'll never find, a new truck, that works like these original ' trucks ' did / nor do ! ( Old kw100 coe guy )
I just saw a video by a guy that has a 1984 Peterbuilt cab-over and he wanted to run some number 1 diesel fuel through it and said something about that cleaning out the algae.
That's an immaculate Freightliner Cabover 1982 42 years old and its still badass
The interior is nice the truck it’s self is kinda rough in person

Glad to hear that Torrell that’s why I make the videos for that exact reason!

That’s what I told him when we got off camera, I climbed under the truck and chased them and told him where to get new ones made.
Dump a couple gallons of fuel stabilizer in the tanks that will help clear it up....

Wow
Who in they're right mind would scrap that tractor.
It was going to a parts salvage yard and honestly you got me buddy, there was a time when they weren’t desirable and nobody wanted them.
