The fact that you had originally gotten a D for your Physics EE but finished with an A actually makes me feel a lot better about my EE. I’m doing my EE in Chemistry, even though I’m only doing SL (HL not offered at my school), and I’ve had to learn the HL content and the content for my EE by myself, which has been really difficult.. I was starting to get really stressed because of the fact that my experiments were going badly, thus I was not able to complete them by the end of DP1. I have started to relearn to content during the summer and I’m realizing that there are things that I can fix, that should give me accurate results the next time. I’m relieved that even someone as smart as you has struggled with their EE, but has pulled through. I love your content by the way! ❤
Hello Mr. Revello, could you please send me a link or drive of IB past paper questions that are divided for each topic for all subjects? I love your videos btw, got me through the 2nd semester of IBDP1 with much better performance, much love.
Great, I'm happy to hear you found those videos valuable! Unfortunately I am unable to distribute those past paper questions. However, I believe you might be able to find them on reddit?
Hi Mr Revello. I am currently in the start of my IB summer (with a length of 2 months and 15 days, if i am correct), having finished the IBDP1 with a grade of 35, not counting the 3 extra points of TOK and the EE, where I have been given a preview of 9/10 in my TOK exhibition and was wondering if it would be possible for me to achieve an IB of 39 +. Would it actually be possible? Unfortunately, my time management during the mocks was not the best, and I wasn't able to give my full potential, neither was my discipline.
hi, I haven't started the IB yet and I'm still just considering things so could you please tell me how things are going now and if you have been able to juggle everything?
I finished all my SL IA's as a first draft in the summer, finished one HL IA, got Design HL to finish and Arabic HL to finish, (Arabic is the easiest -not procrastinating-). What would be the next best step for me as a DP student? I'm really bad at maths and I think that I need more time on that, plus need to spend more productive time on my History knowledge and content so I can score higher in my exams, also for ESS I have to put in more productive time because of my bad scientific background. In design HL my memorization is so bad and the procrastination has increased due to having this memorization issue in exams (in exams I'm bad, in research -essays- I'm superb) I will be studying Media in university and my experience and extra-curriculas are beyond for me to even count, my uni counseller told me that they will be the strongest for uni in order to be accepted plus to be accepted for a huge scholarship if lucky, In general for me to get accepted in like Northwestern University in Qatar for Media, in general I have 16 years of many various different media experiences, social media, youtube, content creation, voice-over acting, speech skills, video-editing, film-making, audio-editing (still begginer in audio editing), photography, videography, journalusm... literally anything to do with media I'm interested in to the highest point of motivation and productivity. My subjects are (History HL, Arabic LL HL, Design HL, English LL SL, ESS SL, Math AI SL). Got 24 points in grade 11. What do you think? (Edit: I study Arabic LL HL as first language A, my IA for languages is in Arabic, don't need to do it in SL English A LL SL.)
Hmm, good question. I would argue that you don't need to "re-learn" anything given that you developed a strong understand of the content beforehand. Then by simply doing multiple question to review the content, you are able to rejogging your understanding. Thus, focus more on gaining a strong intuitive understanding and you won't even have to read it again the second time. I remember when I was studying for exams and "relearning" the content of the two years, I often times jumped directly into doing practice questions. Hope that helps
Good question, I'll talk about this in depth in a future video. The biggest difference to keep in mind during that transition is the method by which you are evaluated. The DP is much more "test" oriented compared to the myp. Thus, your exam study strategies are much more important than before
Thank you for this informative and useful video Joaquin. But I had a quick question, in your previous video you had mentioned that the best way to study is flash cards and past papers along side your very useful easter eggs on time management. However How did you make the flash cards for all of your subjects and syllabus as it’s taking me hundreds of hours just to make all of the flash cards for economics alone. Thank you for your time.
Hello! I might have mentioned in a previous video that *active recall* is the best way to study. Depending on your preferred style of studying, this might include flash cards. Myself, I didn't use any flash cards (with the small exception of Quizlet on a few cases). For economics, I studied using Jason Welkers YT videos and then grinded through practice problems. Hope that helps!
Now that IB summer is here, let's make the best use of it. Shoot me a comment or an email if you have any Qs

How exactly do you "re-learn" concepts? It's hard for me to even read the same thing for the 2nd time:(

Thank you! How should someone prepare for ib dp 1 after myp or gcse
