CoachPhillipNet Thanks Phillip. Trying these out the whole of last week. I did it alone. But in a game with partners who have played much longer all this goes for a toss unfortunately. Will it all turnaround in time ?
+ironmad32 Glad you liked the video. Yes, being a shorter player often means the opportunity to volley is less. The key is to not over stretch. Let me know if you improve.
Hi Coach Philip: Well, I definitely started trying the sidewall practices this morning, and they are definitely better 'bang for the buck". Lots more hits per minute. Thanks for your straightforward videos on TH-cam.
great videos Coach. I'm liked a lot. useful in my training. let's improve. i have some problems with language, but i can understood a lot of things....it's good because i can improve my squash and my english.. thank's a lot.
You should, whether I did or not is open to debate. Doing it on shorts with less time in between and especially in solo practice is harder, but yes, I should have been doing it. Watching the ball hit your strings should become a habit over time. Even the best players don't do it all the time, but when you spend many hours on court a day, I suppose you have the right to relax some times.
@@BetterSquash Thanks for reply. I've watched your some videos before. But I decide to watch all of your video. For the watch the ball hit the strings, it really works even in VR. ( Yes, I play squash and VR tennis currently. ) Be careful, I will steal all of your tips on TH-cam. :P Take care and thank you.
+Ed Weng Without actually seeing you hit any volleys it's hard for me to say. It could be that you are using muscle you haven't used before and that's good. Although the word "sore" is a little worrying. If you mean tired then that's probably good. It's difficult, but try to practice the volley block with your other hand holding your wrist when you make contact with the ball. You should be able to feel the wrist moving or not. If it is moving, then it's poor form. Feel free to send or link to a video of your practicing and I can comment more.
I'm enjoying your videos, but it's not obvious in this one that you are watching the ball hit the racquet as you teach us in another video to always do?
Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes, you are right, I am not watching the ball to well in this video. It was one of my first and I wasn't sure about the whole process of creating videos and my mind was wandering. Also, with repetitive shots like this one it s quite hard to watch.
yeah i just found your videos tonight.. i can't wait to get into court this week and try these techniques
Great. Let me know if they help.

+Nikhil Joshi Yes, it will turn around. It needs to be practiced until it becomes a habit, so that you don't even think about it.
great video. will help me loads, as a shorter player I've always found volleying difficult. Your videos will help.
thanks.

HI Coah Philips: Very useful videos! Thank you for these methods. Cannot wait to try these methods.
Anil Jacob I'm glad you like them. Let me know what happens after you try the practices.

Anil Jacob You are most welcome. Soon it will be time for you to set yourself some goals with regard to the practices.
In fact that's what I target using a personal Excel sheet. Thanks again for your interest, Coach Philip.

I am glad you enjoyed the video. Keep practicing.
Good videos + well presented. Thanks!
Thank you, I hoped it helped improve your volley.
Nice video. Quick question, did you watch the ball hit the string when you do the volley block?

I find that when I'm doing backhand volley blocks, my forearm becomes sore very quickly. Is that a sign that I'm using poor form?
