Aunque soy mexicano y mi lengua materna es el español, siempre miro sus videos y me encanta el trabajo que hacen, de verdad que es súper útil para todos los que aprenden esta bella lengua (y más si aprenden la de México, "híjole" jajaja). Además soy profesor de español y de vez en cuando uso sus videos en mis clases, aunque mis estudiantes viven en Argentina, así que uso más los de Mateo.

It is a chasm between slow doctored seedlang and comprehending real speech. I feel like your show downplays the challenge it is to learn fluency. How many thousands of times does it take to listen, rewind and return in order to comprehend what these people are saying and to respond confidently? How many subscribers achieve fluency with and how is it that you all have learned English so well without the aid of your format? These are the questions which keep me from subscribing.
You don't have to have the free great street interviews with native speakers and perfectly translated subtitles to learn a language fluently. But it sure helps.

In seedlang do you say el pasar tivo, like the guy at 1:05 or el pasar tiempo as the sentence reads? And how does one who does not speak spanish hear in the way that you do that tivo means tiempo when spoken naturally? Does he have a slight speech impairment? His lips don't form to make the m sound?
He kinda pronounces it as “ti(m)po” (super fast actually) which in fact sounds like “tivo”
This made me realize how often we as native Spanish speakers tend to skip the “m” pronunciation lol
