I'm not sure if you realize what you're saying when you say "from the river to the sea". If that is to happen Israel would cease to exist and this means Hamas would be the governing body over the Israelis.
This would definitely result in a genocide greater than today's war.

    • @dragondaniel0574
      @dragondaniel0574 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yes, there was no distinct group of people claiming this specific part of the land. All the tribes that are living on the area are sparsely populated between besides a few small cities, and there is no distinction from them and Arabs in Damascus.
All the Arabs of the levant were living under the Ottoman empire, So if Jews ended up making a country in modern day Israel, While the Arabs got modern day Jordan, Lebanon And Syria as a country (Under the former territory Syria-Paelestina) it would make total sense as these Arabs were considered together as a single group of tribes. The problem is when the British and the French ended up splitting the land into colonies, Causing them later to all have national movements of their own.
Despite all that the UN proposal for the Jewish state was only for around half of modern day Israel, West bank and Gaza, Despite the immigration that was happening due to Jewish Persecution from Europe and the Arab world making the 1948 population grow to being 33% Jews, And despite the fact that the Arabs on the proposed state were still not a "People" as the Palestinian national movement (Or the identification as a separate group of people) only formed in 1968 or so unlike all the other nearby colonies or the Jews which not even regarding their separate ethnicity and religion had their Zionist movement and the quest to have a state for the Jews form in the late 1800's leading them to support the British in both world wars in exchange for support in creating a state..

As a Palestinian, I am happy to see many positive and informed comments, as they do not think that our country was fanatical and inhuman, but rather it was an integrated country that prayed, worshiped, traded, and had mosques, churches, etc. Because of what Britain did, a large part of Palestine was taken, and because of it, I, as a Palestinian, cannot go to Jerusalem. Even, they control water, food, electricity, money, and our economy, even though we were the ones who took them and sheltered them in our country when they came as immigrants. They tortured our prisoners and arrested them often for no reason. They destroyed our homes and did not allow us to build without their permission. They created colonies and settlements for themselves (inside our country) as they pleased. What saddens me most is that the media distorts our reputation and shows us as if we are the bad side.

This reminds me of the war we had in former Yugoslavia. Before the war, religion was never a reason for violence. My family was Ortodox Christian and when it was Christmas our friends from Bosnia would come round our house to party and when it was Ramadan we would do the same at theirs. The violence only happens when the ones in power are corrupt enough to put paranoia into people below them.

The sound is not from over 100 years ago. Only the footage is from that long ago. Footage back then could not capture sound along with it.

@@monkeygameplay5455 Yes, video with sound didn’t exist until the mid to late 1920s.
The first full length movie with sound was called “The Jazz Singer” and it came out in 1927, but even before that, no short pieces of film with sound existed before the mid-late 1920s. As soon as film studios saw that it existed they rushed to include sound in their films, and it put a lot of famous actors out of work, because their voices didn’t match the way their onscreen personas. There were only a few famous actors who managed to make the switch from silent film to “talkies” (as film with sound was known back then). For awhile both sound and silent films appeared in cinema, and this includes documentaries too, but audiences preferred to see film with sound…so since that’s what was making money, silent films went out of business and any actors, directors, writers, or filmographers who couldn’t make the transition lost their job to new stars who fit the new style of film better.
Also, actors in silent films tended to have more exaggerated facial expressions and body movements, since they weren’t using their voices to convey emotions. It was a completely different style of acting. Even if their voice did match their persona, some actors simply couldn’t transition to the more “realistic” acting style that was in vogue with sound film (though lots of acting back then still seems very exaggerated to us these days, it was revolutionary at the time).
Back when silent films played in cinemas, every theatre in every cinema had a piano, and a pianist. The studios would send out specific sheet music to be played with every movie, documentary, news reel, and even advert that you watched. So I guess if your theatre had a bad pianist - one who was a bit off key or had bad timing - you were straight out of luck! Movies, documentaries, ads, etc. back then would also occasionally have title cards show up on the screen that would briefly tell you what the characters were saying to one another, or tell you what was happening in the documentary. So, for example, if it was a documentary on the Ottoman Empire (I’m just giving an example, not referring to any specific film), the screen would show what we just watched, and a black title card would show up with an intricate border around it, and in flowery lettering say “The people of the Ottoman Empire are a diverse group of people - Muslims, Christians, and Jews all worship and live alongside one another.” And then the title card would cut and you would once again see whatever images the documentary was showing you. And all this time, you would have a pianist playing in the corner of the cinema with a specific piece of music that is meant to go with that specific documentary. So if a train crashes, the piano thuds. If a train is passing by a beautiful countryside, you hear beautiful, happy music. If something scary is about to happen, all of a sudden you hear the music begin to be played in a minor key. You get the idea.
This also makes me wonder if pianists ever mixed up the music for two films and people came away thinking that the films were bad because of it! I’m sure it had to have happened at least once.
Also, it’s worth noting that, just like a lot of “documentaries” today, some documentaries back then were eventually ousted for completely fabricating what they purported to show, spreading misinformation, misleading the public, acting in unethical ways, etc.

But the main part thing is to accept to some degree the idea of seperation for the other party deserves the land as well. I think the biggest problem here has always been neither side has really accepted the right for other's existance.

As Iraqis, even though this ended almost four years ago, our country is still... Devastated, our schools do not provide the necessary books or teachers, and the streets become rivers after any very light rain. Even if it lasts for only fifteen minutes, the street becomes like a puddle. The word palestina have no conction to the Arabs, before israel establishment they called themselves Arabs no palestinian. They considered themselves as Syrian Arabs. All the area that today is syria jordan and israel was without borders and called syria palestina. Most of the area where Israel before 1967 was desert and Empty, in the west bank were Arabs that lived there generations, not in the area of Israel before 1967. Only in Jerusalem the jewish were majority. Jews stteled or in places that no body can live there on in places that they both from landowners with full many. Before the Arabs started war against the new jewish state no single Arabs was deported. That mean that if the Arabs don't start war no Arabs deported. The jews lived in very difficult conditions dried swamps and suffered from disease like malria. After that Arabs started to arrived there. Lonewolf6565 no, the massive immigration of jews in the 20s and 30s before the war that caused the problems, otherwise most of the problem was between each sect or with jews, the vaals. there's a book at archive dot org by an ambassador The Memiors of Sir Ronald Storres. in the book he doesn't cite big historical events - like the exposure of the secret sykes picot treaty, he says out allies revealed them when it was actually Trotsky. He was the governor so he goes into detail about the problems he had managing the population. Between the separate groups, was actually the Greek Orthodox church and Armenian Church who did most of the fighting, next was the between the zionists and the orthodox jews. The zionists killedJacob Israel de Haan, the chosen representative of the anti-zionists jews. It was the first political murder. They didn't want all of the administrative functions handed over to the zionists, they wanted them left with the waqf. So there are a lot of lies.

@@Doge963 This text says nothing about Jews. Why would I blame an ethnic group and religion, for the actions are nation state. I believe not every person Israel believes that what is happening is correct, hell, even people who are Zionist I don’t fully blame for the actions of what Israel’s currently doing right now. It’s very clear that it’s the most extremist of extremist that are agreeing what’s currently happening fully in Israel not just in Palestine, but in the Westbank, in the way they have treated hostages, and well now personally, I’m not a Zionist and do not believe a country should be based off religion I believe in a separation of religion and state(for all religion not just Christianity, Judaism, Islam, or Hinduism). What about this? Does this say I blame Jews for what’s happening in Israel? No, I blame Israel and my country for supporting it. Jew are not Israel, of course, many are native to that land. A lot of them live in Palestine in the west banks as they were kicked out of their homes. But the fact is not just one religion will ever occupy one country even in places like Iran that is a dictatorship of religious law is not solely Muslim. There are people all across it that are not the same Muslim or Muslims. This is the problem with basing, a countries, Lars and actions upon a single religion instead of either a blanket for every religion, or a separation of it. But not like France I don’t like France no one likes France fuck the frog. I’m racist and I’m racist against English “people” and Parisians.

@@Doge963 My apologies for getting into your comment late! I do not blame people just because they’re Jewish for the actions of Israel, blaming somebody for their ethnicity or religion, is not something I agree with at all. I do not subscribe to the idea of zionism, I believe we can create would were Jewish people can be safe. We must tackle antisemitism everywhere we see it, just like any other type of hate. This might come to a shop to you, but I’m not a fan of Hamas even though I’m pro Palestine. I believe what they did on October 7 was a crime against humanity, killing civilians, innocent children, and babies, and taking hostages to use them as bargaining chips is not something I believe in. But these actions were not an excuse for Israel to level an entire city, I am going off the top of my head since it’s very early in the morning for me, but from my recollection, over 70% of the housing, and Gaza has been destroyed, to me this only seems like Israel’s demolition of Gaza to to make it easier for their expansion into Gaza(not the military operations I need just legitimately building resorts and other such things on the Gazza strip. I am critical of any religious extremism, coming from a legitimate cult I can understand the destruction they can cause this is why I oppose both Zionism and Islamic extremism. I believe in the separation of religion and state alongside the idea of a soul mono ethnic state that only allows one ethnicity. Well I might criticize people who are Jewish this is not because they are Jewish but because of the hate they are spreading. This might come to a surprise to you, but I don’t even believe in kicking out every Israeli from Israel, I think that would be a mass exodus and as an Acadian let’s just say I’m not a big fan of mass Exodus(also, I’ve only believe in this context it would feed into the Zionist persecution complex, no comparative to Christian you do have a bit more excuse, but it is an excuse, and still not a good enough excuse to commit picnic displacement, and what essentially a genocide). The best plan I have seen for this whole situation is a two state solution on the 1945 borders with a slow integration over decades and into one state since neither Israelis or Palestinians want a one state solution right now. I believe into the right of return for Palestinians. I’m also incredibly upset as a historian on the actions of Israel bombing religious places of extreme historic importance to basically every Abraham religion in the area. again, to end this off the active on October 7 is not an excuse to block humanitarian aid to a place, holding medical supplies, water, and basic food over peoples heads, pretend to be terrorist and go into hospitals, bomb a refugee camp that Israel itself said was a safe place to go, alongside many other crimes, committed by Israel. Again, I don’t blame Jewish people for the actions of Israel, that to me would be insane. The prop Palestinian people that do have fell for the trap that Zionism has laid out the idea that the Jewish ethnicity and religion must be tied to Israel, and cannot anywhere else, for it may not be safe, but I believe we can create a world that is safe for every everyone

@@sh6795 I'm certain his recollections are far superior to someone who has never been there.
Mark Twain's report from Palestine in 1867 showing how uninhabited the barren land was, plus the absolute poverty of the few people that did live there.
“Of all the lands there are for dismal scenery, I think Palestine must be the prince. The hills are barren, they are dull of color, they are unpicturesque in shape. The valleys are unsightly deserts fringed with a feeble vegetation that has an expression about it of being sorrowful and despondent. The Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee sleep in the midst of a vast stretch of hill and plain wherein the eye rests upon no pleasant tint, no striking object, no soft picture dreaming in a purple haze or mottled with the shadows of the clouds. Every outline is harsh, every feature is distinct, there is no perspective - distance works no enchantment here. It is a hopeless, dreary, heart-broken land.
Small shreds and patches of it must be very beautiful in the full flush of spring, however, and all the more beautiful by contrast with the far-reaching desolation that surrounds them on every side. I would like much to see the fringes of the Jordan in spring-time, and Shechem, Esdraelon, Ajalon and the borders of Galilee - but even then these spots would seem mere toy gardens set at wide intervals in the waste of a limitless desolation.
Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes. Over it broods the spell of a curse that has withered its fields and fettered its energies. Where Sodom and Gomorrah reared their domes and towers, that solemn sea now floods the plain, in whose bitter waters no living thing exists - over whose waveless surface the blistering air hangs motionless and dead - about whose borders nothing grows but weeds, and scattering tufts of cane, and that treacherous fruit that promises refreshment to parching lips, but turns to ashes at the touch. Nazareth is forlorn; about that ford of Jordan where the hosts of Israel entered the Promised Land with songs of rejoicing, one finds only a squalid camp of fantastic Bedouins of the desert; Jericho the accursed, lies a moldering ruin, to-day, even as Joshua’s miracle left it more than three thousand years ago; Bethlehem and Bethany, in their poverty and their humiliation, have nothing about them now to remind one that they once knew the high honor of the Saviour’s presence; the hallowed spot where the shepherds watched their flocks by night, and where the angels sang Peace on earth, good will to men, is untenanted by any living creature, and unblessed by any feature that is pleasant to the eye. Renowned Jerusalem itself, the stateliest name in history, has lost all its ancient grandeur, and is become a pauper village; the riches of Solomon are no longer there to compel the admiration of visiting Oriental queens; the wonderful temple which was the pride and the glory of Israel, is gone, and the Ottoman crescent is lifted above the spot where, on that most memorable day in the annals of the world, they reared the Holy Cross. The noted Sea of Galilee, where Roman fleets once rode at anchor and the disciples of the Saviour sailed in their ships, was long ago deserted by the devotees of war and commerce, and its borders are a silent wilderness; Capernaum is a shapeless ruin; Magdala is the home of beggared Arabs; Bethsaida and Chorazin have vanished from the earth, and the “desert places” round about them where thousands of men once listened to the Saviour’s voice and ate the miraculous bread, sleep in the hush of a solitude that is inhabited only by birds of prey and skulking foxes.
Palestine is desolate and unlovely. And why should it be otherwise? Can the curse of the Deity beautify a land?
Palestine is no more of this work-day world. It is sacred to poetry and tradition - it is dream-land."

@@jrhirsch1 And yet .... this 'desolate' land had a thriving export business, predominantly but not exclusively in oilves and oranges, fully-functioning cities, a wonderful culinery culture, and so on...
Moreover, in sections other than the one quoted Mark Twain describes places of incredible beauty. (And other writers back up the latter statements.)
Finally, how do you think most of America woud be described in those days?
But in reality, none of this has any bearing on the state of Ersatz Israel today. And none of it is any excuse for apartheid and/or genocide.
