  • In this Show Me Something Episode, Marcus Beddor, the first guest on The Porrada Podcast, goes over the set-up for the Tarikoplata from the standard kimura and kimura grip defense. He says it's THE most powerful upper body joint lock... and I believe him. Check him out on Instagram at @berimbroski

Nice. If I could make a suggestion I've used this technique a lot. If instead of sliding your leg, you plant your knee on the ground. I'm not sure if you are familiar with Danaher's pull dominant kimura instead of the push kimura. Sliding the leg is a push dominant kimura. It's a stronger variation to use the pull. So you plant the knee and then straighten your arm. It makes it much stronger mechanically.

Very strong submission using the legs and whole body. Nice breakdown.

Very cool technique I first saw this in 97 or 98 with Pedro Sauer I never knew it had a name.

Maybe didn’t have one then, even? 🤔 Depends on when he came onto the scene, I guess…
