I'm enjoying my run with the class, its all about creativity and strategy. Here are some things I don't see mentioned a lot. You can draw aggro from a distance from a single enemy with your basic attack (I use it for large enemies) You don't have to run in first, there is a skill that lets you float out of your body and teleport your simulacrum to where ever that is so you can aggro enemies in the opposite direction of your party before you send your pawns in. You can also do this to set your simu on top of explosive barrels for some fun. Figure out what pawns and what type of behavior you want for the play style you are going for, not only what skills. Learning when to use follow and wait is also very beneficial. I think if you get good enough you don't have to worry about being hit and staggered, I use un-upgraded stargazer clothing for both the looks and challenge. Your simulacrum dying is not the end of the world if you figure how to use distance, terrain, and the class skills to your advantage, might be more dangerous to pull it towards you to heal it if you are not in a safe place. There is no one way to play the class, just like all the other classes. I've seen videos saying you have to have certain abilities on you; No you don't, you have to be creative, and be willing to learn; see what different people are doing without assuming they are 100% that that is the only way to make it work and learn from your mistakes. And lastly, you do not have to like it, that doesn't make the class bad. I've found the Magic Archer on both games kind of boring, but it's not bad it's just not for me.
I hated the trickster (was only going to play it for the seeker token locator augment) until I realized I could slap gold out of monsters with the censer; I've smacked out a 5000 Gold hit on a Battahl golem, anyone seen higher? Now I try to find ways to sneak into the front lines for more free gold slaps. Funnest mini game ever.
If you use the trickster right. Your squad will take little to no damage. It's good for exploring and saving money/ resources on healing items, too. If they added a skill or two that poisoned or debuffed the enemy, maybe it would've been better or too op. Who knows.
I agree, an effective DoT or debuff ability (granted, I’ve heard the pawn dmg buff ability is pretty great) would’ve had me trying the class way sooner, rather than the last one I have to max.
people are complaining way too much about this class, guys it's not meant to do damage, stop complaining about the fact that it doesn't do any damage lmao
@@jarodathehunter9124 That's kind of nothing to do with this class but I wholeheartedly agree. I think that in general the magic system in this game took a hit, From spells, how they work, the amount you could have allotted.

Good tips, thanks!
I tried the float ability for awhile, but it just took too long to get things setup…So I just run in like a crazy person.
Helpful post. And it’s good to know there’re other people out there who just aren’t that crazy about Magick Archer.
Yeah I am not a fan of the trickster, but I do appreciate their creativity.
Same here!

That’s awesome! I haven’t gotten that censer yet, sounds pretty cool!
If anyone is curious, you can get the gold dropping censer from one of the Sphinx's riddles.
Does a certain weapon itself allow this or is this like an Augment you unlock?
I remove the censer and deal damage with my fists 😂 Had to do that since my pawns take too long to hit the weak spots on golems.
That’s a good idea!
#1: don’t.
😭
That’s what my brain said at first.

Agreed! Played right, it’s very useful!

While the vocation wasn’t my favorite, I like that they made a vocation that is so unique, hopefully they add more!
@@quicksandriggs i agree, it's a good sign that the devs just went "this seems interesting so let's add it"
It doesn’t do much damage
It just doesn’t feel like I’m doing ANYTHING is the issue.
Hate this class so glad I’m done with it
They shoudve just made a green/blue hybrid and just save trickster for dlc or smt
A thief/mage hybrid would’ve been awesome!
I agree. We lost a lot of nice spells from magic archer from DDDA.

It just too soon long for me to lvl and max this vocation out
It can be a bit slow.
It’s the last one I have left >.
Played it for 10 mins
It’s definitely rough, especially in the beginning with limited skills.
