Totally agree with you guys on Moulin Rouge, I saw it in December and had been warned it had lots of other music in it!! Wasn’t quite the magic of the film but was still an epic show to watch 🎉

I had no idea! I know that Harrods don't have the same standard but I wasn't aware here. I'd never looked into The Ritz before as I thought it was out of my reach, so it was a really special treat that Benji booked it and we're glad we still managed to go x

Loved the new intro - so glad you pampered yourselves up in London - I had a lady sit in front of me with sunglasses on top of her head whilst I tried to watch a play when the interval commenced I asked her nicely to remove as all I could see was her glasses sides she told me to bugger off -

Afternoon tea at the Ritz looks amazing 😍 Congrats on 100k again 🥂 I also have a trilogy engagement ring and went with a plain platinum wedding band because a diamond band looked a bit too much to me. In fact my husband's ring is the same as the gold one Benji was looking at, and mine is the same style with a bevelled edge but polished all over instead of the matte bit in the middle. Wedding ring shopping is hard - hope you find something you like soon!

Lovely vlog, as always! I think you've mentioned you like eating fish before? At 29mins you're walking past J Sheekey, which is a super classic and well-regarded fish restaurant. It's also quite showbiz/theatrical so next time you want a treat meal in London I highly recommend it!

I lovedddd this vlog, I miss London days like this SO MUCH since we've moved! Deffo need to get myself back more often. So frustrating about Moulin Rouge - people are so disrespectful. Deffo complain to the usher if this happens in future shows, it's really not on. Intro was cute! xx

Was moulin rouge the come what may tour? As my sisters and niece saw that in a place called yeovil at the octagon theatre
Re wedding rings, we got ours from a business we saw at a wedding fair called Goldfinger Rings. They come to your home with a case of sample rings to try and then make them to order. They also can take a mould of your engagement rings to design a ring to fit it perfectly. They do that with you so you don’t have to sent it away.
We got 2 platinum wedding bands, mine with a couple of diamonds in, for just over £1,200 for the pair!
Much better quality rings than my engagement ring for a fraction of the price.
I’m so glad you said what you did about Moulin Rouge. I worked at the picc for 10 years and knew we would get the show. Always said I wanted to make it until it came before I left and I did leaving last year. The film is one of my faves and I was so disappointed with the show it’s just so different.

I'm a big fan of the movie version of Moulin Rouge so I was SO excited when I heard a stage version was coming that I traveled to Broadway from the UK just to see it. And I had the exact same feelings as you an Benji, visually it's very impressive but the music is too jarring and really takes you out of it. I also felt like some of the updates to the storyline just didn't work too, it didn't feel like they had to overcome as much. I'm kind of relieved you felt the same!
I saw moulin rouge last year for my 40th and my thoughts and feelings were EXACTLY the same as yours, although you were able to verbalise much better than me!

Hii, I was wondering, does TH-cam let you edit the subtitles or are they automatic? I don’t know if you know this but they never work when ben’s talking, not sure if it’s being further away from the camera or quieter or mumbling or what, but they never transcribe it, I’m deaf so it’s frustrating! And sometimes when it’s blurry I can’t lipread either :( Also when musics overlaid it sometimes doesn’t work too. Like when you’re in the ritz I can see you’re talking but the captions just say {music}. Wasn’t sure if you knew so wanted to let you know just in case ❤ xx

I’ll go back and do a few of the popular vlogs too, but today’s video of Benji’s Surgery has perfect captions that I’ve watched and read myself to double check 😊

Totally agree about Moulin Rouge, had big expectations as a fan of the movie but the newer songs just weren’t woven into the story well enough. And they changed the story so much I kind of didn’t like Christian by the end of it (mad!). Still an amazing production and enjoyed it, but yeah for die hard lovers of the film its really so different. Also love Pasta Brown! My go to for a pre theatre dinner.

It's a shame you guys didn't like Moulin Rouge! I went two weeks ago and absolutely loved it. My opinion personally, I thought they did the film justice. Maybe if the songs were different you'd have liked it more? This is my opinion of course. xx

There's been such a problem recently in West End shows that appeal to a more 'common audience' shall we say. By common, I mean non regular theatre goers that go and see these new shows that are based on films. I almost left Frozen due to a lack of awareness and theatre etiquette from those around us. It really does spoil it 😭😭
How awesomely sweet was this. First of all love the intro! Work in progress you say, I think it's dandy as is! The tea room omg looked incredibly exquisite. I was legit getting chills. Oh man, sorry for the lousy experience at the Moulin Rouge show. As my dad would say "what is wrong with people". It’s a shame they made Benj amend his attire but then allowed trainers on someone else 🙈 I must admit I have been quite lucky and haven’t experienced any etiquette issues at the theatre but I would be fuming if that had happened to me - I’m surprised the staff there didn’t intervene and tell them to shut up 😂 Congratulations on your nomination too. My partner booked tea at the ritz for me a few Christmases ago and didn’t realise either until I told him so we had to go shopping the day before haha

I found I didn't like Moulin Rouge as much with the modern songs as well.
I work in Theatre.. The pair behind you is far from okay. For future reference complaining to an usher about them is more than ok. Like you said you paid to see/hear the show, not them. Being constantly disruptive is a fair reason for them to be asked to leave if they don’t stop after an usher has asked them too.
Other than that looks like you had a lovely time😍❤️
Sorry the show was almost ruined by those people. :( Our theatre has started properly cracking down on people who don’t behave during shows. And you get a very strongly worded warning email sent to you right before you go. It was about time! Anyway, glad you had a good trip overall. It was a joy to watch as usual. :)

the outfit rules might not make a whole lot of sense if they have a whole wardrobe on hand because it happens so often whahaha Or they need to make it more clear on the reservation etc
There was another guy next to us doing the same thing so I think it happens often!
