Man, Exodia dude had reload and magical mallet in his hand and he used reload first. For spell counters, I would have used magical mallet first on all other cards except reload and hoping for a good hand. Then if not but not very likely, then used reload to get another whole new hand. Plus 2 good spell counters right there. These 2 are supposed to be your main backups and he got rid of it. Anyway, when you use these cards, you want to put back your hand in different spots for a high chance of getting a different hand, not all at the top/bottom because there's a chance you will similar cards like it happened here near the end. Still, great match.
There was nothing he could have done. The deck dies when library does. He's not keeping it around because it's a neat monster card. He's keeping it around for its effect. And fiendish turns off effects.

Because without royal magical libraries effect you really can't go off with your spells as effectively and the qliphort player would have probably had game on next turn
