I had a Kona Fire Mountain for 17 years it was a massive part of my life growing up from teen to adult - now have a 2014 Shred as I snapped the frame on old bike and all I can say is Kona for Life!❤️✌🏻Kona till I die! (‘let’s hope not for a long time! :)
Music and bikes forever! My favorite guitar, ‘89 Fender Strat Plus, favorite bike ‘21 Kona Ultd (recent acquisition). If I didn’t have to haul amps and gear I’d probably sell my car!
Hi Jordan. Nice review. You mentioned the Dirty Kanza. So would you or did you use the KONA Rove DL on it? Need a good bike to survive it lol. My friend invited me to participate with him next year. Bill
I just got a used Kona Dew. It has 700 x 32 tires on it. There seems to be lots of space for bigger tires, how large a tire can I put on it. It is the 24 speed with v brakes and aluminum frame. Thanks.
Good review. If Jordan or someone at Kona is still following this post, would you know how tall Jordan is and what size Sutra Ltd he’s riding? I noticed in the video’s last shot that Jordan doesn’t seem to have much standover on his bike. Checking the geometries on Kona’s site, it looks like the bike stands a bit taller than the numbers alone might suggest. I assume this is a function of the larger tires? In sizing, should a potential buyer go more by stack and reach? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi William, I'm Lacy, Kona's Communications Manager. This is a response from Jordan: I am five six with a 30 inch inseam. The size in the photo was the small/medium for that year or what is now labeled as the 49.5cm. It fits me great. Sure the stand over was not as generous as a mountain bike but it’s a drop bar bike so it was perfectly fine. Yes the reach and stack are probably the most common numbers on the geo chart to get you an idea of general fit for the bike. I reference the top tube length pretty often as well.
Hi, Lacy, Jordan. Thanks for your replies. I did go ahead after posting my question here, and, based strictly on stack, reach and toptube measurements, ordered a 17/18 Ltd, the green one. Have had it a couple weeks now and it’s perfect. (Spent my first ride just laughing at how much fun it is!) Straight out of the box - I did ditch the reflectors and spoke guard - with heavy Sun Ringle platforms, and set up tubeless, it weighs 26.6 lbs, but it definitely pedals and handles lighter. In case it helps anyone in deciding on size, I’m 6’2”, 170 lbs, with a barefoot, back-against-the-wall, etc, inseam of 36”. Approx. 6” of seat post showing and saddle is basically level with bars, depending on how the stem is flipped. Speaking of which, stock stem is an 80 mm - 96/84 and for me just right. Great bike, highly recommended. Thanks again.
“[S]addle is basically level with bars,” that is, with the stem flipped up and at the top of the stack. There are approx. 1-3/4” of spacers to play with; I’ll start experimenting with those after a few more rides. Also the saddle, spec’d at 123 mm wide, I believe, isn’t bad for my approx. 105 mm sit bones. A nice surprise, there.
@@BellinghamTreehouseYoga I've got an exsplosif that I bought in 1998, she still goes good, but I need a fork, can you get me a p2 26er with bee brake studs ?
@@williammiller673 Hello! Your answer did in fact help me, I'm 6'1 with an inseam of 35,3 (89,7cm) which size did you purchase and how wide are the bars? The Kona site puts me in the XL territory, which I think is fine, but I'm curious about your order!
On the Sutra LTD '17 u can easily use up to 2.2inch 29er tires. At the moment I'm running Maxxis Ardent 2.25s set up tubeless. On the here shown older blue Sutra I think 2.1 is the maximum in terms of tire width. Greetings, Chris

I would also like to know what bars he is running. Shame no-one seems to respond to comments on the Kona Channel.
That looks to be a Dajia far bar.
I also ride Kona ROVE ST and its rolling resistance is astonishingly small despite its 650 x 47 fat gravel tires!
How wide is your handlebar ? Thanks
Perfect gravel bicycle
Awesome....wish we had bike lanes in India
which tires is he running?
Awesome bike and nice scenery!
What bars is he running??
What tire size do you think he's running

Im from Philippines and my very 1st bike and up until now i am using it, my Cyndercone Kona 😍
1x vs 2x how about the Kona Rove LTD ?
if you listen carefully your bike can sing in it's own way
Hey! im pretty similar to jordans measurements, im five seven with 30-31 inseam. Would the 48.5cm model be the best fit for me?
No, 52 cm to 54 cm at the most
Wish it took 700c and 650b. I like to have the versatility.
Cool as
Just wanted to say that in European Portuguese, Kona means pu*sy.
You're welcome 🤣
this is so lame. this has to be an ad for boy on boy action, i haven't seen something so blatant about it since my time in thailand.
