I really enjoyed this song but after a few listens I agree with the points you made about the chorus, I think it will stay as a favourite by them because the start of the song was so strong though.
The harsh vocalist has such a wide range and forceful delivery. Meaning the verses bridge the line between metalcore and almost deathcore. And the chorus is very radio sterile, country tinged rock. It's not that I don't like his vocals, I just REALLY don't like the delivery of his vocals with the instrumentals. It's jarring in the first chorus and grating in the rest.

This song had some of the OG vibe from 2000s metalcore. It's like a blend of something familiar that you know and something you don't.
That "barking" that they add at 3:23 is fucking insane

A slower chorus is fine.
It's the sterile country rock that makes this less enjoyable.

I did not like the chorus in this song. Everything else was 10/10
