    There is a massive issue with Monday's pricing structure. They force you to buy the seats in pre-defined batches... so if you a small company with 6 employees then you need to buy 10 licenses. This nearly doubles the cost of the software. I have no idea why they would think that was a sensible idea but we walked away as soon as we learned that.

    king features for each of these, based on my experience and preference:
    Monday has the best WooCommerce (Wordpress e-commerce plug-in) - it has two-way seamless sync... with clickup you'll have to do something manually with some 3rd party software for automation.
    ClickUp has the best calendar sync with items. It is two-way seamless (almost) experience and if you move an item (event) in the calendar it will sync on your ClickUp and vise versa. Monday has only one way sync.

    Curious to know your thoughts on the glitchiness of Clickup… I've been a Pro user for two years and, while the feature set is impressive, and they keep rolling out new features, the core functionality is very unreliable making it unusable. For example, automations don't fire consistently. Once we had a webhook that didn't fire for days, and nobody in their team caught it… Documents go missing. Tasks disappear. Time tracking is pretty lame… I've temporarily switched back to Asana but I'm curious about Monday in this regard. Is it more stable / reliable than Clickup?

      i used Monday in a team project for about 8 months, never had automations fail, but as we added tasks and the backlog grew larger it became very sluggish. it has also has a hard time uploading images into a description field, sometimes taking several attempts to not see the "src missing" placeholder image.
      another thing that was a pain was trying to automate the creation of tasks via their API from a NodeJS server; we had to write GraphQL expressions in string format since we weren't running that locally, and a lot of column names and board names are not what one might expect them to be ("column12" kinda stuff).
      and one final thing, the name "Monday" caused confusion almost weekly, since we had our standup meetings on Monday... "on Monday" lead to many "which Monday?" responses 😅

      I would very much appreciate what you found out. We are currently deciding between different project management tools. Which one did you like the besy and why?

    Monday definitely wins on the stability front, and Clickup on features.

    Thanks for the info, I have narrowed my choice to these 2. I am an individual salesman, looking for the best free version. Which would you recommend to me? What would be the limiting factors of each free version? Thanks!!!

    I think it’s ClickUp for flexibility, Monday for ease of use and looks.
    ClickUp pricing becomes tricky. Some features are locked behind higher pay walls.

      Which features in particular?

    • @furikakez
      @furikakez ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joshd265 I'm on clickup unlimited plan and right now Timeline is the only feature I'd like to have. Timeline is very useful because clickup's Gantt is extremely slow. Now I'm working with a project with small 2-4 days tasks and it's becoming a nightmare to deal with them with just gantt. The cheapest plan (unlimited) gives you 100 interactions (you'll use all of them in a matter of hours) which is more like a very short trial.
      Monday apparently gives you Timeline with a cheaper plan. I don't know why he compares the 2nd tier Clickup plan with the 3rd one on Monday
      Looking for a cheaper alternative with timeline view

    Never use Monday. Clickup features are great but their pricing makes you angry even for simple and limited capabilities of mindmap you have to upgrade to pro subs. And eventually mkaes me stop using it as it keeps asking to pay more for the another feature. Fyi I used clickup for simple task to record and tracking my daily work routine and reminder. And used it for notes taking for studying. The app kinda buggy and slow sometimes but I heard they plan to big upgrade which have new look in late september. So clikcup is great if you pay for pro subscription for $19/mth and for basic big no for me as it has very limited function

    Clickups customer service is what sets them apart. Plus I always go with the American based company. Clickup for the win.

    I’m looking for a tool for 5 to 10 people at the moment… focused on Kanban / gtd in a very aggressive way. I’d like to work with that tool, not for it… is there anything except trello?

    Tried both of them, but they're too expensive, so I decided to switch from it to Flowlu. It's still feature-rich like Clickup and Monday, but still affordable for both small and large teams. Also, I really like that they have everything at once, including not only project management but also invocation, finances, the Agile module, knowledge management, and more.

    ClickUp: many functions, often somewhat buggy and with rather mediocre performance. Monday: interesting, as there is also a free version. Somewhat old-fashioned GUI, good performance, significantly fewer customisation options than ClickUp, but also easier to use.
    But: many customisation options do not necessarily make an app better. I think many people are better off with Monday than with ClickUp.

      ClickUp has drastically improved their performance.

    • @devarni
      @devarni ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really, the performance is just as bad as before (I currently use Clickup 3.0). The whole backend, new organisation of the databases (as announced) have not been changed yet. Probably in autumn, but it was planned for summer.

      @@devarnihow is clickup now?

    • @devarni
      @devarni 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not very good. After my last test, I decided for myself that ClickUp was not an option. Too many bugs, poor performance and the interface is often very confusing. The big marketing promises about everything that was supposed to come with V3 have not been kept.
