The pilot applied the brakes, but only the left one worked. One huge ground loop later, the FW was on its belly, with the undercarriage wrecked. They put it on a trailer and towed it to the hangars. It can be repaired and will be back for the next Classic Fighters air show in 2017, which is good, because I will be, too...

Update on the above: Repairs took four years and it made its next public appearance at Classic Fighters Omaka 2019. Great to see it back in the air.

It is a Russian engine which is close to the original BMW. But designed for transport airplanes and that did cause some problems allready.
