Was never really a fan of "The Dead"...Wife got tickets for this show(Tuesday) at MSG behind the stage..So i kept an open mind and said sure...Il go...Why not...Hoping they would play Franklins Tower(the one song i know)...From the first song "Hell in a bucket" till the the final song U.s Blues they were just unreal.....One of the best concerts I have ever seen....I get it now....
Just wait until you start listening to the old school live albums oh god the amount of hours I've spent listening to dicks picks this year is unbelievable
Just got home. Went both nights. There are no words. Just a very big thanks to John Mayer - who really doesn’t needed to do this at all. God bless them. Bob, John, Oteil, Jeff, Bill, and Mickey....u can’t know the endless joy ur bringing to us all.
Jeff Rogers ur probably right. But the whole thing stops as soon as he’s had enough. I don’t think Bob would want to continue this with anyone else, and I feel that John has injected wonderful energy into Bob. Not to mention Oteil and Jeff who are just killing it! Obviously I love this experiment, and hope it never ends.
The best version of H > S > F that D&C has done to date. John's playing is absolutely nuts especially on Slipknot. The whole band it super tight and haven't heard a better version from them than this one!!
I don't care what none of you critic's and haters say, when the four horsemen are blazing lightening and the rhythm devils are bringing thunder, get out of the way because the bus is rolling through! These boys are coming straight from the Bolt!
I say enjoy them while you got them, 'cause this is truly the last we're gonna get of the Dead. And we need to hang on to it for as long as we can as crzy as things are out there now. Selah
China Doll and Stella Blue were so ethereal that I'm not sure they were even real...that level of ecstasy in listening to beauty is almost painful it's so purely beautiful. If anyone is wondering, I'd say don't hesitate to purchase the video of tonite's show because Bob singing Stella Blue will never never be so quintessentially heart-breakingly beautiful as it was tonight. You will never see or hear anything quite like it again. It's historical. trust me on this
ohh my that Franklins was smoking... that little slow down at the 28:54 and the jam with Oteill a bit before. the smile on their faces tells it all. These guys are on fire. What a pleasure and Bobby's Stella was remarkable... Jerry is smiling
Is anyone else having trouble with this video? I can't watch the first 18 minutes. It cuts out the sound of intermission but also a really good version of help along the way
Hey guys , I have a ticket for dec 8th. At 7:00 pm .. But I can’t make it until after 9:00 .. what time do they usually begin playing ? Do they have an opening band ? Thanks to whoever responds
Just saw this, sorry that the show didn't happen, I flew in from New York just to see that show. Oh well. They take the stage every nigh around 7:15 for the first set, and then around 9:10 for the second set. You'd be missing the whole first set but catch the full second set.
Someone who knows guitar may be able to make an argument that John is better technically, but technicality does not make a great guitar player. John is great, but he is not a "better" guitar player than Jerry.
Dude, this is the beginning of the second set after the intermission......Where would you have like them to start the video??..Mid way through Slipnot???
As soon as I hear John Mayer's voice I lose interest. It just doesn't sound right on these particular tunes someone else should sing em. I really enjoyed seeing them at Hollywood Bowl 2017 night 2 however (they didn't play this/these).
