Pig Hunting in a Yamaha Viking Episode 1

- This is a compilation of our last pig hunting trip to South Western Queensland (Australia) We take the Yamaha Viking through it's paces to bag some nice feral pigs. Weapons used are Tikka .223's Tikka 30/06 rifles.

Love ya work guys.So bloody good seeing videos of hunters shooting & not dogging. I’ve been hunting hogs in south western Queensland since the 1980’s Can’t wait to see what you get up to next. Especially like the very clear video footage & no crap music. I also enjoyed your 6 day hunt on the big hog , shame you didn’t get a video of it running & kill shot. Nice trail cam footage of him also. Keep up the good work boys.I started with a .223 sako varmint when I was a teen & now use a 300wm tikka s/s varmint on everything from bunnies to buffalo. Love it.

Love your work fellas. Awesome set up pretty much the same as what I have. Got the Yammy x4. These buggies are pretty much unlimited where they can go and in comfort. Tikka 223 lh is also my goto gun. Also have the shotty for the close range action. Thermal monocular for night spotting. One day I'll get a thermal scope. Lol at the cheers when the buggy performs and u get that shot. Keep the action coming.

What’s the top speed on these? So much in for for usa but none for qld. How much does a passenger or two effect this?
Hi Jed. Thanks for your comment mate. The top speed is 77kms an hour. Even with myself and Shain, fully loaded makes no difference. Maybe slightly longer to get there, but it's such a great machine you don't really notice.

So pigs we have in the states have some diseases like Swine Brucellosis and Peuorabis, how are you pig there. So was wondering about Dingos. Can you tame them like dogs or are they just wild and do you hunt them to keep the numbers down. Thanks.
There are many diseases feral pigs carry here in Australia also. Predominately, where we shoot we wouldn't eat them as they eat dead animals. There are places in Australia that they can eat wild pigs.
As for dingos, it would be cool to catch and train a pup, but I think it is illegal to do so. But most wild dogs we shoot here now, in the areas we shoot, we are seeing a lot of Alsatian inbreeding.

hey mate, just curious with the .223, can just chest/vitals shoot pigs and goats and have them drop or do you need to headshot em for them to drop pretty quickly? cheers mate
Gday mate! It all depends on the type of landscape your in, and whether your shooting them on the run or standing still. Generally with pigs if they are running you want to just hit em anywhere to pull them up then finish them off. A good placed heart shot will drop pigs and goats fairly quickly but you need a good solid projectile not a varmint type. .223 is plenty of gun for pigs and goats but a 30/06 is way more fun lol 😂 cheers shaino

@@nolixss694 The .243 Aussie outback 87gr pills are amazing. Just on my new XBolt Hells canyon speed now, so I need brass to develop a load. The Auustralian Outback ammo is amazing, in .223 you have 2 choices....55gr Game king, and 55gr Siera Blitzking which are my personal fav. But more than that, the cases are great for reloading. You DO have to swage the primer pockets for .223 though, which adds another process the first time you reload the case.
Why no shotties?
Hi john. We do have shotties all the time. Shain was just saying the same thing yesterday. We will get more shotties, and pigs in the vids mate.
