Great use of left hand for balance. It helps him keep his shoulders square. He also lays the racquet face down early, similar to Khachanov, who uses a full western grip.
Not a great thing to copy for recreational player - all that wrist movement makes timing more difficult. It's also a long action with that big takeback which makes timing even harder and has a relatively compact follow thru so not as much top spin which is your safety net. It obviously works for him after 10,000 hours practice but I don't think it's the best action really.
its a forehand for counter pounching game like djoker who favor control shots not risky with moderate spin and if u observe he is not wasting time because he goes racket straight below not aroud body as federer, nadal, djokovic which means in defensive position he has more time to adjust.
I'm a counterpuncher too ... not an all court player like Fed or an aggressive baseliner like Djokovic or Nadal. This FW could work well for me (as much as I can copy it effectively with my limited amount of ability compared to these guys).
Nice swing. His swing looks bigger than his old swing. I assume he's trying to add power with a larger swing so he can dictate more points and in the process do less running to protect his hip and prolong his career.
@@ryankiel4895 Yeah agreed. I tried too but I'm finding I use more of a Western than Semi-Western...only problem is I just can't adapt to SW, ball hits the net almost every shot, can't really figure out how to adjust, despite trying the obvious.

Favorite forehand in the ATP
What do you think about Andy Murray's forehand?
It got better, more effective and more agressive since 2014, I really like it actually, I miss that guy on tour.
It's magnificent. One thing that really stands out for me as you say is the body rotation. It almost looks exaggerated but I love its fluidity.
Solid and consistent. However I prefer Novak's Forehand it's Versatile can create angles .
Not the best but it’s solid

His wrist work is rather unique.
i love his forehand....I actually can hit harder with this motion
Happen to me also
Harder than him?
@@dushyantverma511 of course not

Andyyy! ♥♥
Look at his head position while hitting the ball
What about it?

Is he still going to try to play singles? I think he lost in the first round of the US open last year, right?
I think this is the most beautiful forehand in tennis. It's as beautiful as Stan's backhand, and almost as beautiful as Agni Radwańska!
I can't emulate Fed's FH but this is one that I think could help me.

I like Murray's forehand as well, but you have got some terrible taste in women
@@poormansrose7754 Probably just different rather than terrible.
@@wallsy2010 Obviously, I'm just kidding.
Semi-western?
Yaaaaassss
💪💪
Tiafoe forehand actually has similarities to this.
I don’t understand how this dude gets any topspin. Racket head literally doesn’t even drop an inch below his wrist wtf
It’s no Federer level of efficiency
