its a disaster for the players actually. so bad, i fully predict a players strike in a year or two and problems with their own union. they sold out non star players for nothing

Plain and simple. Less teams will be paying the luxury tax which means 2 things:
1- poor teams will be cheaper with salaries because they aren't getting handouts from the luxury tax teams
2- richer teams won't be adding more salary above the 2nd apron which means less salaries for players
    CBA sucks for players.

I don’t completely understand your first point. I just read a detailed article on the new CBA.
In conclusion, I understand your second point. The new CBA ultimately is designed to pay players less in salaries guised around parody and low market competition.

Yeah it’s very easy to understand how it helps owners and not clear with players
Does not pass the smell test at all

They should have exempted the tax on homegrown players who were drafted by their team.

Is it more advantageous to a team to have a player on a late 2nd round rookie contract, or a two way contract as an undrafted free agent?

Seems like this just lets the shitty and cheap teams keep doing their thing. While if draft well and want to win you get punished

I wish we all could collectively bargain. But no, just these cry babies. Gotta thank republicans for that. They've been eliminating labor rights for decades.

How does it benefit the players? Twams will be spending way less money

  • @ryanrowe1975

Luxury tax to spending more money over 90% over the salary cap and changing the first regular season of paying $60 million from the Spurs to trading away below the salary cap less level of a mid level exception.

  • @blablablaa14
    @blablablaa14 ปีที่แล้ว

Couldn't the Spurs just stay under the 90% minimum and just not gotten a tax distribution but could just save on salary?

The players get 50% of basketball related revenue. And get zero of the increase of the value of the franchise.
The Bucks owner just made $800M in 9 years. And, that doesn't count all the benefits / revenue he received during the ownership period. Oh yeah, that $800M gets taxed at 20% since its capital gains.

It’s what you wear while cooking dinner. How you can’t see the correlation or how that ties in to what he is explaining is beyond me. It’s simple
