They used to hire Martial Artists in the previous generation. People like Jet Li and Vincent Zhao got picked out of tournaments I think. Donnie Yen is one too. The generation after cared only about beauty. Chinese action cinema has gone to shit it’s impossible to watch anything nowadays. Korean choreography aren’t as good as Jackie Chan, Jet Li stuff but at least they’re still watchable, and they tend to have good acting.
