- While it's true the Boston Bruins are being outplayed by a better Florida Panthers team in the second round series of the National Hockey League's Stanley Cup Playoffs, it's also true the Bruins are getting hosed by the officials and the so-called Department of Player Safety.
Locked on Bruins host argues Sam Bennett shouldn't have been in Game 4 after an injurious punch to the face on Brad Marchand, and Bennett's goal should not have counted after he shoved Charlie Coyle into Jeremy Swayman.
At the same time, the Bruins' inability to penetrate Florida's defense and generate shots is proving to be their downfall.
What's the lie? That this Bruins season will be a disappointment if they don't advance to the Conference Finals.

Leafs fan here in peace. Sympathize a lot with Bruins fans this morning - the Sunbelt bias amongst officiating is a joke, and this is exactly how we felt last season. It's a joke.

@@bretthogan5805 we talked about it so much when it happened, but everyone just said "typical leafs fans" and mocked us for complaining.
It's refreshing in a "we fucking told you guys" way that other fanbases are feeling the same thing we experienced.
Coyle was already well in the crease in front of swayman moments before Bennett touched him, the only question is did Sam’s push fully cause the blockage, was Charlie far enough away that the push was the thing that caused swayman to not be able to slide? No, Charlie was already well into the blue/crease in the literal exact location swayman had to be to make that play just moments before Sam touched him, so without the push swayman still most likely can’t make that save with Coyle right in the way, or at least taking the goal away is very hard and it should be a hard call since it’s difficult to make the argument it was Sam’s fault when Charlie was already in the exact space Jeremy had to be before the push.

Bs have gotten away from physical hockey for years now. The only people who still think the Bs play so dirty are pansies haunted by years of getting beat up by Bruins of decades past. The team doesn't even have an enforcer..

I dont see many Bruins fans acting like Boston was better than Florida this year, but to have half the series with controversial calls really sucks.
This really wasn't ever going to be our best team after losing 2 centers and replacing them with 2 wingers.
But anything can happen in the playoffs.

As if just the NHL is corrupted. All pro and college sports are corrupt & lost what what remaining credibility they had the moment they partnered with the gambling industry.
we have Coyle a checking C, then Zacha who should be a winger at best, and Geeke another checking center whom is better suited on the wing...Loosing 2 HOF Centers is catching up plus we have only 1 natural goal scorer. Not to mention our defence that is rebuilding. the only strong position is our goaltending that is why we did so well during the regular season. Remember how many 1 goal wins and regulation ties.

Coyle had his breaks on. Could have spun and made a play to block the puck if he didn't get pushed over. Sway could have stuck his stick out there.
Easily could have been a different outcome.
What happen last year
Hey, I saw the rule you pointed to, and many others have been pointing too, but isn’t there a rule about rebounds, rebounds in the crease, and contact with goaltenders as well? Pretty sure I saw Tough Call reference it, but maybe I’m getting it wrong. I know that’s not the reason that TNT says the NHL gave them, but if it’s the rule and it applies then it doesn’t matter whether that’s the reason the NHL gave. I could be wrong about all of that, but thought I saw something on it so wanted to mention it since everyone is showing that other rule.
You are so much more realistic than the fool that does locked on Panthers.
I’m not sure how much talent Bruins will be able to bring in the off-season. But team chemistry counts for a lot in the playoffs and there has been a lot of roster turnover the last few years. So I have a hard time believing adding a couple of free agents is gonna translate into deep playoff runs. You gotta knock on the door a few years in a row with almost the same group of guys to get far. Re-tooling with a bunch of new players every year doesn't translate into playoff success.
Just play a clean game and come back down 3-2
I’ve never heard such bitching as I have in this series. The refs missed hooks and tripping and cross checking against Boston as well. Get over it, Boston doesn’t have what it takes to advance to the semis. Holy hell, maybe they’ll have 20 shots on goal this game. So tired of it already, thanks them out Cats so we can stop hearing the bitching and whining!!!

The Bruins are not getting TIMELY GOALS. They had a PP, they have been missing the net, FROM INTH CREASE Debrusk 2 gms ago, they had 3 breaaways, come man they couldve easily won all thes games if they get timely goals.

Come on now, Blaming a loss on one call? The Bruins were defeated soundly by a better team. To be fair if you want the Panther Goal called back, then by the same rule Bruins goals #1 and #3 in Game one of this series should come back as well. It is almost as if Bruins game plan was to play bump the goalie and it worked game one but once Florida did the same thing in return The Bruins could not handle it. Hey, I know losing sucks(Flyers fan) but The Bruins are a quality organization and will be back next year.
