It was one of most beautiful place I have ever visited, I was there last autumn early November 2019. early november been said one of perfect timing to feel kurobe gorge experience before it's close on end of November. I left pieces of my heart at Kurobe gorge and Keyakidaira
Sounds amazing. I was supposed to be there last month. The anticipation was so great, and when COVID19 hit it ruined everything. Hoping for later this year to make it there.
Love the long video'ls. The shorter ones make me excited to visit a place, but the extended ones give you so much more impression and ideas to visit. Please keep posting them.
Thank you! Once the coronavirus situation calms down and we're allowed to travel from prefecture to prefecture again we'll be resuming our usual format, but we'll definitely make them a bit a longer with more "exploration" scenes!
This is one of my most epic solo journey & it is purely solitude having to be here I was here in autumn 2018 n it is really really beautiful watching those amazing hues of the trees in red, yellow n orange I left a piece of my heart in Kurobe Gorge 💕
So happy to find this channel. I explored japan in 2013 and 2017 based on recommendation and route from japan guide website, that's why i went to Kurobe Gorge too. Thank you
I almost thought Sam was back :'( Anyways, great cinematography and this one feels especially romantic and emotional. I can't get enough of google-maps-surfing around Japan these days to get some travel feelings.
Unforgettable memories. Thanks for the video. Was there in May 2018 to walk through the Tateyama - Kurobe Trail. Watching this video brings back memories of warmth, people, food and the scenic views like postcards!
I visited Kurobe Gorge last late autumn, but too bad only spent half of a day, that’s the place where I can find peace of mind, missed it a lot especially during shelter in place days....
Thanks very much for this beautiful, serene, informative video. I appreciate the wordless "narrative" approach. Kuronaga Onsen looks astounding and I hope to visit one day. Also, the links to your excellent website are superbly done, informative, concise, clear.
WOW!! Sooo serene and peaceful.. I felt like I was there, too! Thank you for this beautiful and amazing tour.. It will be added to our next Japan trip.. The scenery is so breathtaking and the FOOD!! WOWWW!! I loved the silence .. thank you!
I absolutely loved this place when I was doing my research for my Japan trip. Unfortunately a lot of the places wouldn't be open when I originally plan to go (spring) so I have added it to my fall trip - along with other beautiful nature and festivals I want to check out. I hope to do both of my trips within the next 5 years :D
The music is excellent. Ambience is great! And the destination is so peaceful. Love from India to made this great video on July 2018. Keep safe from coronavirus 😊
love these videos, so peaceful and serene. someday...someday I will visit every corner of Japan. Also its lovely to see Sam Evans again. thank you for the postings 😊👍
Was planning to visit this year in November but now ..... travelling has to be put on hold. When everything is back to normal .... will definately visit.
It seems like in the last two months I've been seeing on social media and TH-cam a lot of the places I was supposed to be visiting last month on my holiday to Japan. It's left me feeling really sad. The Kurobe railway is one of them. I was supposed to be spending four days in Toyama prefecture :( At least I know what to look forward to hopefully if I can make it back late Oct / early November. Sigh.
Hello, we are the production team of the Korean broadcast TV program "Map Me To The World". Our program is a program that conveys the beauty of various countries to viewers through proxy overseas travel. As we prepare for this episode, we would like to show our viewers the beautiful images of Toyama, Japan. I left a comment to ask if I can use the video of the link above as a broadcast material screen. I would appreciate it if you could think positively and reply :) Then have a nice day today!
Hello! Quick questions: If I want to go to the Kurobe Gorge but don't have the time to do the seven day trip from Tokyo to Kyoto where is the best point to start before getting to Unazuki if I want to go there? From Kyoto? And are there other Ryokan/onsen that you can recommend aside from the Kuronagi Onsen? And if not how far in advance would you recommend to do the reservations there? Is it tattoo friendly? Thanks!
Quickest way would be hokuriku shinkansen from Tokyo to Kurobe-Unazukionsen station takes about 2.5 hours. But add on 30 minutes for the local train to Unazukionsen station. There are two more onsen a little walk further up from keyakidaira station. I doubt any of them are tattoo friendly. But there is one a few km walk from Unazuki resort past the first dam.
Can somebody tell me when, in what month, was this video recorded? I know this was filmed for the three part video guide from Tokyo to Kyoto but when during the year was that done? If anybody can answer this; thank you!
I think a bit of dialogue will help. Too much music all the way. I missed the previous productions, where the host will speak about their destinations and experience.
Thank you for your honest reply! Due to the coronavirus pandemic we're currently stuck at home and are using previously shot footage to showcase some of Japan's beautiful sceneries, and hopefully allow people to travel from the comfort of their homes. Like Debie mentioned this was shot 2 years ago, and was a stop along the way from Tokyo to Kyoto on a 7 day trip. We made three separate videos about it, with narration and explanations: Episode 1: th-cam.com/video/ymrhp1MrN_4/w-d-xo.html Episode 2: th-cam.com/video/TfOhY8dKxMU/w-d-xo.html Episode 3: th-cam.com/video/LUcbBzihk9A/w-d-xo.html
And the recycling goes on... 😉 Why don't you put that wonderful material in your regular videos? I always think: such beautiful videos, but a little bit short. And now you have so much unseen-before-material... Please, make your forthcoming videos just a little bit longer! Besides: it's a little bit creepy in your recycling-videos, when Sam doesn't talk... And the music is not so beautiful, like in your regular videos.
i love this new format of videos without commentary and only with relaxing music! ;)
Thankyou so much!!
I totally agree with you.
It was one of most beautiful place I have ever visited, I was there last autumn early November 2019.
early november been said one of perfect timing to feel kurobe gorge experience before it's close on end of November.
I left pieces of my heart at Kurobe gorge and Keyakidaira
That would've been the most exciting and scenic time ...
Sounds amazing. I was supposed to be there last month. The anticipation was so great, and when COVID19 hit it ruined everything. Hoping for later this year to make it there.
Thank you for coming
素敵なコメント、富山県民として嬉しく思います!
I was also there on November, one week away from closing. It was a truly beautiful experience. Can’t wait to go back.
I was there too! It was super cold and the mountain turns yellowish due to Autumn. Definitely worth the visit!
Had to cancel my annual trip to Japan this year so I’m watching travel videos instead. What a beautiful place, it will be on my list for next time!
My dream is to live in Japan for awhile and visit all these beautiful places. Japan will never run out of beautiful places like this.

Thank you for your lovely comment! Glad the video brings back good memories. It sure does for us too, since we are stuck at home for now.
I visited Kurobe Gorge last late autumn, but too bad only spent half of a day, that’s the place where I can find peace of mind, missed it a lot especially during shelter in place days....
Thank you for this video. Minimalistic, the pictures talk by themselves like in an Akira Kurosawa movie.
Thanks very much for this beautiful, serene, informative video. I appreciate the wordless "narrative" approach. Kuronaga Onsen looks astounding and I hope to visit one day. Also, the links to your excellent website are superbly done, informative, concise, clear.
Thank you so much!
Holy, Holy Crab!!! This is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The music and visuals together makes me feel that I was there in Japan
1 year ago i have been there because your videos explore toyama. Omg its one of best decision in my life thx
WOW!! Sooo serene and peaceful.. I felt like I was there, too! Thank you for this beautiful and amazing tour.. It will be added to our next Japan trip.. The scenery is so breathtaking and the FOOD!! WOWWW!! I loved the silence .. thank you!
Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it!!
Omg this must be heaven. This is number 2 in my bucket list.
I wish i could be there . I really like this format without commentary it is so relaxing.
I just had a really bad day but this totally saved it. Beautiful work and the music is a great fit!
Your comment made our day! Thank you so much!

Спасибо - вы отлично подобрали музыку. Эти места красивы до слёз. Я очень рада что увидела это.
I missed Japan. I wish we could travel again.
I absolutely LOVE that you're going to the road less traveled spots! I'm feeling nostalgia for a place I've never even been to!
The music is excellent. Ambience is great! And the destination is so peaceful. Love from India to made this great video on July 2018. Keep safe from coronavirus 😊
Thank you for this. This was perfect, probably your best video yet!!
Tbh I miss seeing mountains and greeneries, but must be able to hold myself back and stay at home for good. Thank you for the video.
One of the most beautiful place on this planet.
It's a shame these places don't get much coverage but having less tourists helps them look more pristine
I agree. We dont need Toyama turning into another Kyoto overrun by Chinese tourists by the bus load.
Shooshh I liked that it was kept secretly for the locals. Went there last year, barely any tourist
Definitely must-see when I'll be in Japan.
So lucky I've been there in Kurobe Gorge with my wife at May2019.
love these videos, so peaceful and serene. someday...someday I will visit every corner of Japan. Also its lovely to see Sam Evans again. thank you for the postings 😊👍
l was there few years ago..never forget the beautiful experience.
Autumn of 2017 I was here. And it was one of the best trips i've had in Japan! I will go back for one more ride
I had visited this place before so its just as visiting that place again...
Discovered this on our trip in 1988!
love this channel. hope it shows more foods, customs, and places 🎎
Amazing, some excellent camera work! Looks like a beautiful place.
Beautiful scenery
僕の田舎です、料理見ていても富山てすぐわかりますね、なんかほっとするね。
Was planning to visit this year in November but now ..... travelling has to be put on hold. When everything is back to normal .... will definately visit.

いつか行ってみたいです😆✨
We miss Sam Evans! Thanks for uploading videos and stay safe!

Admit it Japan-guide, you guys just miss Sam.
Beautiful. The riverside bath looked amazing! Did you reserve it for filming or did you get lucky that is was empty?
Thank you very much! We managed to film when nobody was there. If I can recall correctly there was only one other group of guests on that day.
Probably half of Kurobe no Miryoku.

@@SmokeyBCN Thanks! :)
Is it possible to do Kurobe gorge in one day?
Is Japan the New Zealand of the northern hemisphere, or is New Zealand the Japan of the southern hemisphere?

Maybe because sam no longer work with them if you read the info box this was taken 2 years ago

Lovely photography but less than inspiring 'music'
