I've read some comments disparaging this singer. He isn't David Pack, that's true, but he is a great singer. He has great range and does more than just a beautiful job on this very difficult song. David Pack is one of those voices that just can't be replicated, the falsetto, the clean tone, I get it, David Pack is still phenomenal to this day. To also be half deaf just astounds me that David can sing like that, much less produce like he does. All that said, if the rest of his old band mates want to continue where he doesn't, there's nothing wrong with that. Just because he isn't there doesn't mean this man is terrible. If you think this assemblage of world class musicians is nothing more than a karaoke tribute then you just don't know music and you're also kinda mean. Just because you may not want to go see them doesn't make them talent-less. Also, just because David Pack is in a different place in his life doesn't make him egotistical either. A lot of judging people that we don't know goes on on the net. that's what is terrible, not this singer.
I was lucky enough to see this version of Ambrosia in Philadelphia. Props to Rick Cowling what an amazing singer. Since David Pack he is without a doubt best vocalist Ambrosia had. He is amazing basically like a recreation of David Pack in his prime singing these tunes. Awesome band amazing show.
Band sounds great! Harmonies are spot on, lead singer on this is great. Perfect! Ive been an Ambrosia fan since the 70s and still am. David Pack fan too, but he doesnt tour with the band anymore...:(
Rick Cowling and Ambrosia are complete ear candy. I'm so glad someone shared this. I will probably play it everyday as i did when i had this show on vhs.
Cool vid..always loved this band..and this song..I think this singer does a fine job...no he's not David Pack..he's making the song his own and has every right to do so..he's got plenty of chops and shows it here live.
Further, at the end when he was gonna hit the big one, he had enough discipline to know what he had left and took that note down a notch to complete the song. The absolute sign of a true TRAINED professional. He knows where he is in a song at all times and can call upon his vocal resources to do what he needs to perform the art. You can see him shake his head at the 4:35 mark. BTW, there is a video on You Tube where Ambrosia was doing a gig on a Moody Blues cruise, and he nails the note. True professional.
This is a tight band, great talent, I hate David Packs not still in the band, it would be great if he was, but hes not. This guy did a respectable job.
The only real difference between David and Rick, David hits the notes with a little less effort, but Rick hits the notes just as well, with maybe a little more effort, sounds great
This comment wasn't meant for this song. I had been watching "How Much I Feel" and thought I was still on that page comments. But I would gladly send you a version of me singing it just acoustic guitar and myself a half step down since I play it live on guitar in "A" so I can keep an A bass constant over the changes. I should record some of my favourite Yacht Rock tunes and post em. Just don't have the time with gigs and sessions but some day.
+ddl74 If I hadn't heard the band with the original front man I'd agree. But go listen to the song live with David Pack. It's MUCH better. This is like Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant. ELO without Jeff Lynne. Journey without Steve Perry.
A lot of those young people in their 20s probably had never heard how real music should be played with an intro, bridge and incredible harmony chorus and kick ass musicians. Unlike todays music that only plays one or two notes and make a whole crappy song around it. This group Ambrosia and many groups of the 70s, 80s and 90s made history with great music whose all time records will never be broken like Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Madonna, Metallica, Prince, Mariah Carey, Nirvana, George Michael, Queen, Public Enemy, Earth Wind and Fire, The Bee Gees, Donna Summer, and Rage Against The Machine. The only good music today is Adele and Bruno Mars. Everything else today sounds like shit.
This is definitely not Ricks finest performance but he is an awesome vocalist. Just a little more finesse ( maybe use the falsetto more effectively?) in the verses and it's perfect. I perform this song regularly and believe me, it is ALWAYS a challenge as is ANY Ambrosia hit.
Some are original Ambrosia band members, but sorry, this lead singer is NO David Pack. David is much stronger vocally and can reach the notes this guy attempted but didn't hold or failed. Not Ambrosia without David! Not for me. Same as Journey; not Journey without Steve Perry.
Sooooo, tell David to swallow his pride and get back together with Ambrosia. No Ambrosia without David? David's not Ambrosia without Joe, Chris and Burleigh.
Susan W waaa waaaa waaaaa no one said he’s David Pack. If that was your son taking over someone else’s big shoes to earn a living you’d change your tune. No pun intended.
gonzo736260 Funny you are....This singer isn't bad but you can't top David Pack's vocals period !!! I'm not into bands that become karaoke with fill in lead singers.....
Silltony51 Get over it man, Pack doesn't want to tour with them. This is far from sucking..all pro line up. If your that hung up on Pack send him a love letter.........

Michael Flanagan I agree, it isn't Pack but hes very good.
+Michael Flanagan Now, that's a very well thought out comment, and I'm in total agreement with you.
Right on the mark!
Very well said and I agree...he sings his ass off.
He's great... who is he? Background?
This lead singer is CRUSHING IT! Big moment for the band to be featured on late night television.
Totally agree. That's a challenging tune to sing live, and he friggin' nailed it.
Joe Puerta plays such melodic bass lines.
Such an underrated bass player
That is such a brilliant song - and brilliant musicians. It's aged SO finely!!! Thanks for posting
This is not the original vocalist but he is REALLY good! I'm really enjoying his version!
This song makes my heart pound!! really love ambrosia!!!
Great Band And Great Singer, Love this
Great Music... Bravo from Mexico.... Good Memories..
Band sounds great! Harmonies are spot on, lead singer on this is great. Perfect! Ive been an Ambrosia fan since the 70s and still am. David Pack fan too, but he doesnt tour with the band anymore...:(
This guy sings his jazz off IMO. Who is he?
Our friend, Rick Cowling, and he is phenomenal!
Excellent singer.
Rick Cowling and Ambrosia are complete ear candy. I'm so glad someone shared this. I will probably play it everyday as i did when i had this show on vhs.
Excelente cancion, me trae grandes recuerdos.
So awesome !!! New singer is stunning ..Voice from the Gods
Rick Cowling now tours with Kenny Loggins, plays bass. Great musician!
I'm just impressed he was able to do most of the song in full voice...
+JoeFlow88 I agree 100% he was hitting notes that even Pack was doing falsetto..... impressive !!
I love Pack, but this guy did a great job. !!
IKR?
It's true he is also nice voice👍👍 ilove this song..
First class musicianship
harmonies in the pocket
Rick Cowling is outstanding ♪🎶
Sin hacer odiosas comparaciones entre los vocalistas., la cancion en su esencia suena muy bien.
Come here again. I totally love the deep sound of base.. It Pull my heartstrings af
Nice performance! Especially liked the part at 4:24 ; as did the audience.
Thing that kills me is,,, people can't enjoy this man's amazing performance. And have to talk about a guy who isn't there
Thanks for uploading this. NBC deleted all the others and it isn't even on Hulu anymore.
Good to hear these guys again.
Love love love Ambrosia!!!
I kinda dig this version. He's not trying to be David Pack, people should stop trying to compare them and appreciate talent in every form.
Very impressive live performance!!! Yes, that's how you do it :))
Real music
Rick Cowling is an awesome stage performer!! His high range far surpasses any of David Pack's live performances. I could listen to him all day
gottalovem Ditto!
Unforgettable song 🎶➰🎶
Sounds fantastic just as they did years ago
😮
All Class, and Top Notch!
Ahhhh que bien, por fin nuevamente los vuelvo a ver!!!!!!

Amazing sound❤
Damn they sound good!
What the damn hell?? SING y'all!! I forgot about this song. Loved Ambrosia! Did they sing How Much I feel 2??
yes
Only thing missing is the falsetto Soubd,But this guy did great!
This is a tight band, great talent, I hate David Packs not still in the band, it would be great if he was, but hes not. This guy did a respectable job.
Dat Kubicki bass tho’
Good job 👍🏼
The only real difference between David and Rick, David hits the notes with a little less effort, but Rick hits the notes just as well, with maybe a little more effort, sounds great
While Rick Cowling is no David Pack, he does a fine job here!
The guy has nice, messy hair.
Harold Grossman still got it in 2021
Big moment for these guys and they crushed it!
The keyboardist should sing "How Much I Feel" too.
So what happened why Pack left anyone?
That Singer is a God
God of making songs uncomfortable to listen to?
James Garrison sing it live and let us listen to you !

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🇧🇷
Awesome performance awesome song
damn good job!!!!!
i love. this
If David Pack refuses to play with Ambrosia for ego or other reasons the band can go out and find someone else. No one is irreplaceable.
Disagree...this band has never been able to find Pack's replacement, although they've tried for years with multiple individuals
ask Steve Perry or Peter Centers. the show goes on.
As good as this could have possibly been from the current line-up, without having David Pack on lead
Freaking awesome!
Nice to see they're still around, new guy is no David Pack, but he's alright :)
Not a new guy. He is an original member.
singer is phenomenal
The keyboardist sings much better than the bassist.
Dare the naysayers to go see them. U will leave impressed.
that Hammond xk-3 is a mother..
Was class of. 1980.
Sorry guys. W/O David Pack, it is NOT Ambrosia. David gave the song its soul.
The guy is singing what sounds like "mahu --." "Mahu" in Hawaiian means gay. I know that he is unaware of the Hawaiian term.
How can you call this Ambrosia without David Pack? At best it's a tribute band.
+Sean Leasure The other original members are still there. Band sounds great.
+ddl74 If I hadn't heard the band with the original front man I'd agree. But go listen to the song live with David Pack. It's MUCH better. This is like Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant. ELO without Jeff Lynne. Journey without Steve Perry.
I can't believe those counts

he's not David Pack but certainly he's giving justice to the song. 🌻⚘🌷🌹
This guy is GREAT !! No Diva Peck, thank God. OPPS, I meant david.
June 2019..Good try but he is not David Pack. This is not Ambrosia.
Ambrosia is David Pack ..Sorry..
Get over it
@@edbeale I know, Ed. This is just muy feeling. Peace and love for you.
cant wait to see them in concert oct or nov

Bad bad...
Your music taste meter is off if you think this is bad. Go back to listening to Justin Beiber.

+marcusdolby1
I didn't say it sucked....just sounds like a cover band.....and good idea I will ...
Sir... do u happen to sing by chance?
A fila anda o cara canta muito inveja e uma merda
Not the same (nor even close~!!) without beautiful David Pack!! Sad attempt to make it work. Fail. IMHO
Let me know when you get hired to front a band like this. In the meantime I've gotta 'run' because your reply gave me the 'sheets'.
Another cover band of themselves. Sounds like a band you hear at a wedding. Give it up already
Love love love Ambrosia!!!
