Chiang Mai is sooo charming. One of my favorite singers Teresa Deng she loved it and passed away here so I came here to see the little town story with her. In China She's very famous singer. It's kind of dream come true to visit Chiang Mai for me.

Starting off with a temple visit, then not one, but two (!) coffees, seeing another temple, then slurping up a noodle lunch, afternoon hitting the markets; next day waking up in a beautiful hotel, getting dressed up for a gorgeous photo shoot, a late brunch of pancakes, then more markets (even one was too busy)…maybe it’s because we’re lying in bed watching your video on a lazy Sunday ourselves, but the vibe of your video is…kinda hard to put it into words, but you made this video feel like a great “weekend.” You know, a great slow easy day to spend with yourself or a friend, exploring either where you are or just life itself. Also, you know it, but you were stunning in the traditional clothes. Appreciate the honesty about the Night Market-looked like our idea of a nightmare, too. But, you found that great dinner, so not all was lost. This whole video just feels kinda like a “Sunday” to me. Stoppppp! You are a mind reader. I was writing up my editing plan for this video, bringing it all together and I literally wrote, 'I want it to feel like Sunday morning,' because that's how Chiang Mai feels to me. I am so happy that came through in the video! :) WOW!
I have lived in Chiang Mai for 8 years. This video makes it look much better than what it actually is. It is crowded, the sidewalks are in poor condition. Many old vehicles that emit black smoke as they drive by and occassionally you see live and dead rats splattered on the street. Lastly garbage tends to sit around for awhile. Be careful on being too adventuresome about eating because it is only a matter of time before food poisoning strikes. Otherwise enjoy but just be careful and never walk outside with headphones on.
Another great video Phoebe. I wait for your videos so eagerly. I love to travel although due to time constrains and my work I am not able to travel that much but I try to do at least 2-3 vacation trips a year. Also thanks to you I can see world through your eyes (Actually through your lens would be more appropriate.) On a different note 8:34 That chocolate cake looks sooo delicious.

The Sunday night market is way better if you go early - before dark and before the crowds. For me it was a really cool place to meet and connect with local musicians who told me about a little out of the way temple where you could learn traditional northern Thai music and how to play the instruments on the weekends!
The temple is called Wat Suon Dok if anyone wants to check it out. In a little room behind the temple they used to have the music sessions on Saturday and Sunday afternoons - but that was before COVID so I don’t know if it still happens… I hope it does though!

Yeah the battery isn’t as good as I’d like it to be. You can get these extras batteries for it but they don’t last as long as the in-built batter. On a full day of filming I go through a total of 3 batteries. Worth it for the final result though! I’m very happy with the camera 🙌🏻

It really did showcase some great sites in Chiang Mai along with some great places to eat. You always seem to find the nicest spots. And you looked absolutely stunning in the Thai costume. They did an amazing job with the hair and makeup. Now I need to catchup on some videos I missed. You’ve really grown over the past year plus as a solo content creator. Keep doing what you’re doing.
But it does not have a beach. If we want Western restaurant, we would just stay where we are. We're looking primarily for a fantastic beach with quality but not overly expensive accommodation right there on the beach, preferably with sunsets for me reflecting on the ocean.
So sad people come to Chiang Mai and wear Central Thai dress, not Northern Thai dress. I don't blame the tourists, because it has to do with the shop owners. The Central Thai dress is iconic and it is probably what people think about when talking about “Thai Dress” Those shop owners only care about making money, selling what could earn them the most, instead of providing the tourists with authentic local cultures.
