Yep. Takes me right back to the early 80's, my neighbour had one. If I remember correctly what was unusual about the CB250RS it was that it is a single cylinder, but it had a twin exhaust. Can't wait to see it finished.
Another great project! I had one of these about a hundred years ago and it was a lovely little thing to ride. One of the fairly common mods that people made was to junk the 250 motor and bolt in a Honda FT500 engine. I am sure it was a straight bolt in job other than having to lose the cylinder head mount support. Good luck with it. I will watch with interest.
I had one of those in the same colour when i was 17, nice little bike, the 4 valve head and it's lightweight that made it nippy. A single but with 2 exhaust pipes that had a nice sound, i will be following this with interest.
Really looking forward to this Euan, such a good choice for a resto..an amazing bike that I’m sure you’ll make mint. For what it’s worth, I’m with you on the square clocks and headlight. In particular the headlight, I wasn’t even a fan of that look when I was a kid in the 80s ha ha!..really a good choice of bike 👌👏🏼
Helloo my fellow scot 👍 love the xjr, ive got 5 of these little beauts, x2 81 blue, 82 black, and the rsd in red and my sleeper, its got the fl500 motor in it 😂 i just buy them whenever they crop up, i must seriously have a word with my therapist about my hoarding, Great content my friend, keep it up, and sell them once done!! Unlike me 😅😂🤣,
Hi Euan, hope you're well. The older I get the more I appreciate wee bikes, so I'm looking forward to watching you do your magic on this one. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work. PS. Just finished watching BJ and Seth working on the Vmax. 🧔👍✌
Rebores get done at 0.25mm increments. Pistons are available at +0.25 , + 0.5mm , + 0.75mm and + 1.00mm. You don't just jump to + 1.00 because that's final size after that the barrell is scrap

Looking forward to seeing this evolve Mr Shoogly. Apparently, they ride rather well. Totally agree about the square headlight and dated clocks 👍

Sure I saw one of these with an XL500 motor fitted featured in a magazine. That would really make it rip. Watching with interest
Restoration anyone can do 😆 That was a good one.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with on this build! Hopefully it'll help motivate me on my own project bike!

Merci pour le partage et le montage de ce nouveau projet que je vais suivre....
Looking forward to this build.
Cracking looking wee bike Euan, looking forward to this project. However!!! You need to keep that headlight, it’s minted mate!!
Oh man! I respect your opinion... But I'm binning it faster than you can say COYBIG...

Yes, but that scratch is very deep. I'm jumping straight to 1mm because even then it may not be enough. In which case the barrel was scrap anyway.
Earned a living on one, despatching legal documents in the centre of London 1990's😊.
Your laughing with all them parts good chunk off money there😂
U didn't pay for them 😂😂
