    Been buying and using Roundup for years. Personally, I like it...nothing to think about...no mixing, spray and walk away. However, I just sprayed a certain weed that has taken over my lawn this year and the Won't Harm Lawns stuff didn't touch it. Have they watered it down or something? Won't even kill dandelions in my grass!

    Did it ever occur to anyone that having a "green manicured" lawn is the reason why our bee population is in decline? Flowers and weeds exist for a reason. Whoever planted that idea in America has contributed to our downfall because one of the things that made our country great was the availability of natural resources. The weeds that you kill have flowers and those flowers feed things. Because of the green manicured lawn pressure - flowers and food have become hostage so good job in feeding the machine. The enemy has won already.

    • @Thelawncarenut

      I'm not sure how often you fly on airplanes but I used to travel 35 weeks a year - looking down, the vast majority of the USA is NOT covered in "green manicured lawns". Do you know how much of the US land mass lawns make up?

    This year many of the St. Augustine lawns in Shreveport, Louisiana have huge white patches. Even the laws whose owners spend every day working on their lawns have these bright white patches. The Crabgrass also turned a bright white. No joke, bright white patches. We did have a hard freeze in February. I'm curious if this is Frost Burn or do the lawns have something else going on. One other thing. Every yard, along the sidewalks and driveways, also have a bright white edge four to six inches wide. Any thoughts on this?

    Looked at Roundup and says "kills 96 different kinds of weeds." Weed B gon says "kills 250 kinds of weeds." Spectracide say "kills 460 kinds of weeds." I'm afraid I won't get the same results with Roundup as I would with the other 2 lawn weed killers. I'm only spot spraying on my Floratam so I'm not too worried about the "not for use on Floratam St. Augustine" on Weed B gon and Spectracide. Could you comment on merits of each of the 3 products?

    Does anyone know what they use in those Ready To Use (RTU) products that makes them have such a long shelve life? When you mix your own from concentrate, you have to use up the chemical fairly quickly or they will become ineffective, but manufacturers added something into those RTU products and that made them very stable. If anyone know what was added, please post. Thanks.

    "If you have non-Hodgkin's lymphoma you might be entitled to a settlement..."
    Roundup works great, I use it liberally. But it's odd the lawyer cartel isn't pursuing Ortho who makes the exact same product. Maybe because the parent company (Scotts) doesn't have a fraction of the money that Roundup owners do (Bayer). It makes you wonder if the fear mongering about roundup is even true.

    So after the weeds are gone, do you then add a feeder for the grass so it fills the spot?

    Allyn thanks for these types of videos. I’m from GA and I’m just now really getting into being a lawn care nut, but it really is so hard to figure out where to start and how I want to go about doing it. Stuff like this is simpler for me starting out. Thanks once again.

      I bought 2 gallons of this weed killer for the grass. I still have weeds in my grass. I used it entirely. There’s gotta be something better than this.

    Round up safe for lawns killed a lot of my Saint Augustine grass. What did I do wrong?

    • @Thelawncarenut
      @Thelawncarenut  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      typically when I hear this it's one of two things, especially in FL: either something you thought was grass was actually a weed and the herbicide did it's job. or the weeds you killed were so large they left holes in the lawn and it appears to be dead grass when it's not.

      It’s new construction. Sod was put down 3-4 months ago. Could it be I forgot to shake the bottle of round up?

      @@warrencollings9784 I doubt it's that. Did you spray on a very hot day? That is the only other thing I can think of - if it got over 85F that day and up into the 90s that could cause adverse effects

    Hi Allen, thanks for the video! Question: I have cool season lawn and I bought two bags of Carbon X back in 2020 and am now planning to use it this month. Will I be at risk for putting down this product if it’s 3 years old? Like burning for example. Just looking for anything I may need to be concerned about. Thx!

    • @Thelawncarenut
      @Thelawncarenut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It won't burn anything. If you've kept it dry it shouldn't be lumpy and will spread well. You could probably sell them on Ebay for $200 each if you wanted to go that route. . 🤣

    I’ve got a grassy weed in my yard in spots. I thought it was crabgrass but the box store stuff I’ve used in the past to control crabgrass didn’t do anything to it. Any chance this will work on it?

    • @bradflesher3632
      @bradflesher3632 ปีที่แล้ว

      it will not kill crabgrass.

    • @notreallyme425
      @notreallyme425 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bradflesher3632 what I’ve got is not crabgrass, it’s thinner and stands more upright. But it’s similar in looks and it’s spreading. I’ve decided to spot kill with regular Roundup and send the spots after. Nothing seems to work on it. Maybe Poa, but I’m not sure.

    This will 100% kill your grass. I used it on my lawn that I've been working on restoring for 3 years. The neighbors yard is solid weeds and started creeping into mine, sprayed roundup for lawns on the weeds and it killed about %30 of my front lawn.
