My pug who is 6 years old has Addison's. Here are some symptoms I noticed before the diagnosis. (And I'm not sure that all symptoms are related to Addison's.):
    1. He slept in everyday, and took a long time to "get going".
    2. He would hyperventilate when frightened, versus trembling like other dogs I've had.
    3. He would shudder for no reason while resting.
    4. He shed enormous amounts of fur year-round. (This has finally stopped with treatment).
    5. He drank very very little water.
    6. He would occasionally vomit mucos that had no food accompanying it.
    7. He had horribly bad breath, even after he had dental surgery.
    8. His eyes looked "droopy" and "clouded". He just looked sick a lot of the time.
    9. He was reluctant to participate in activities that he usually enjoyed (i.e., riding in the car).
    10. Ultimately, he refused favorite foods, and went into "crisis." (He hid behind a bush in order to die, not responding when I called his name.)
When I got him to the vets, he was so dehydrated they shaved several spots on his legs in order to find a vein in order to administer fluids. He didn't eat for the next 10 days after treatment began. He was incontinent, and slept most of the time, developed pancreatitis, and would growl when I went near his backside to clean him. After 10 days, he began to eat a little. It then was about two more weeks before his eyes were no longer droopy and sickly. It was a horrible experience, but recovery has been remarkable.
