    have to say this - i had a store bail on me this morning after placing a custom order for 50 soaps. i've been trying to distract myself with vidoes, till this one made me confront the situation and literally cry. reminds me why i make soap. love you.

    Wow, Sara! Thank you for making this particular video. Funny, I've been thinking about the last few weeks how incorporating eggs into a formula would work. And wow! What a beautiful bar. That lather is gorgeous. I bet it feels wonderful on the skin especially with the 21% shea usage. Beautiful work. As☺ usual, that is!

    I love watching your videos and really appreciate the fact that you include your recipes. I’m fairly new to soap making and trying to figure out how to make my own recipes. I am looking to make shampoo bars and was wondering how do the egg yolks fit in with the chemistry of the oils and lye? Can I add egg yolk to any recipe or does it alter the oil and lye ratios?

    • @tellervo.
      @tellervo.  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thank you🤗 You can use egg yolks as an additive in any recipe, they will add some extra superfat and even a little bit of extra water. If you want you can adjust the water and superfat but you don't have to.

Thank you again for your lovely work.

    • @KittenBowl1
      @KittenBowl1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you have enough SF, it would be a conditioning type soap. And it increases lather. But tbh I wouldn’t use any kind of clay. It’s counterproductive to use clay and emollient ingredient like egg yolks.

      @tellervo.  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you so much😊 Egg yolks add richness and thickness to the lather.

    • @KittenBowl1
      @KittenBowl1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @Welcome's House I’ve been making soaps for over twenty years…we don’t like to overuse clay as it IS a very drying ingredient. I’ve made hundreds of egg yolk soaps. Our eggs are orange and if you gel the color would pop of its own. No clay is ever required. And we use eggs for emollient properties. Using such dehydrating ingredient cancels out each other hence I said counterproductive. No point to use moisturizing ingredient then use such drying ingredients like clay. Clay in alkaline environment the drying power is farther enhanced. So people who understand this don’t use clay in soaps. And tbh using clay to anchor scents don’t work. You need to be blending properly for EOs to stay in CP soaps. Honestly clay is overused in the West in soap making.

      Yes everything in moderation. Cholesterol causes plaque. I wouldn't want to eat a whole bunch of fat and shove it in my system

    I like all ur videos. I made a soap with aloevera gel and saffron last week. But my lye solution curdled when I added it to the gel and saffron mixture. Can u pls tell me why? Would u pls upload a recipe with natural aloe and saffron in 100% coconut oil. Is it possible to make a soap with these ingredients. Pls reply

    • @tellervo.

      Thank you Shadiya! Hmm I'm not sure what happened there. Maybe it was too hot? I have individual videos on aloe vera soap and 100% coconut oil soap if you want to check them out. I think all those ingredients should work in soap making.
