This is like perfect short movie. Funny if not absurd beginning, journey, scary encounter, wrong turn, finally you reach your destination and all ends well with a heartwarming educational message. 👏👏👏
Im realy happy to subscribe before 1k subscribers. You are very intresting, charismatic and having great sence of houmor. I have no doubts - soon you will be very popular. Just keep doing what you do. Best wishes and good luck my man!
I went there 6 days after you did 😁 My brothers daughter put a cross along the path last year but when we came back this year you couldn't even see it because of how fast the density builds up, it's truly a brilliant place.
I just came across your videos and am really enjoying your insights and energy when sharing your trip, thanks for your output and hope you are doing well
The hill itself is not as big as it used to be, because Soviet Russia was taking down all the crosses wtih bulldozers (4 times!). It is such an important place for every lithuanian, I'm really happy you decided to visit it!
Great video. Grybų sriuba is mushroom soup by the way :) And locks I believe means not engagement, but stopping during the wedding and the groom carrying the bride over the bridge (if I am not mistaking we do locks during the wedding part).
Thanks Deimanté. The soup was surprisingly tasty! Ah that is interesting, British people put locks exactly like the one I saw on bridges where they proposed (I assume it was started by Americans and we copied it...). I didn't know it could mean something else in other countries.
yeah, that was a dormitory (deff not a students one) so they have basically one bathroom for the whole floor (the room, not stalls). and someone owns it and lives there occasionally so they rent it (i bet it's not official/done with papers n shit), explains the crocs and the drink, probably the owners. i bet the owner doesn't have too much money (for renovation), because you can rent such place with much better conditions (renovated, all necessities and stuff like that)
The place where you lived was a community building so everyone have to share bathrooms and a shower. And for the hill of crosses isn’t just a religious place for us. Our independace isn’t the only reason we put crosses there. It’s a tradition for every couple that gets married to go there and put a cross and when a kid gets christened we put crosses there as well.
BIG meat and potato dumplings, with sour cream and pork belly bits sauce!!! If you ate one the night before the pilgrimage walk, you wouldn't have needed all the hiking provisions!
The Šiauliai is pronounced like "sheulay" and the soup grybų sriuba "greeboo srewba". 3:32, you read the Latvian title, the Lithuanian is at the bottom.
Well, one of the great things (and sometimes not great) about Lithuania is that human relations are not artificially sugar-coated. You just express what you think or feel, even if it may sound or look rude :) We all may be dicks here :))) He (she) didn't elongate his thoughts about these cities, so his (her) statement sounded unnecessary.
The "S" with the mark on top is pronounce like Sh.

The locks aren't from proposing. People who just got married lock locks on bridges as a fortune for long marriage. Or so I've been told by my parents.
