Back in the mid 70's. My wife and I rescued a fledgling bird that had fallen out of the nest. It was an ugly thing with only pin feathers. We felt concerned for its survival, So we took it home and started feeding it dog food and meal worms. No matter how much we feed him/her, its mouth went wide open when we went near it. Based on the recommendation of a vet, we started feeding it raw ground beef. When he grew out his feathers, we realized he was a crow. Long story short: as he matured, he integrated himself into our family. Once he was a competent flyer, we let him come and go freely. He never stayed away for more than an hour or less. We assumed he would eventually join one of the massive crow flocks in the area. NO DICE, he was afraid of the wild crows. As he matured further his true personality and character came out. What a noisy, pesky. annoying, stealing, tricky, intellegent+++ brat. He talked up a storm, all self-taught. Of course he picked up words and phrases we didn't we didn't appreciate--bad mouthed little bugger. We couldn't turn on the water at the kitchen sink if he was nearby. He would jump under the running water and flap water all over the place. We treasured his presence in our life from 1973 to 1995. One sad day he didn't come home.
As a kid in the 60s, our neighbor had family about a couple of miles away that had a crow that they raised.. it would talk ( cuss a lot too).. would fly over to our neighbors house ( it also came over with neighbors to visit).. we moved in 72, don’t know what happened to that crow. But he let his presence be known
This is awesome. I knew they we’re a highly intelligent breed. I’ve herd of talking crows. But this is the first I’ve seen. Amazing! Thank you for sharing this story.✅😀
Lol.. he's a handsome boy.. we have a wild one we call Hank that has us trained to come out and bring him snacks. Thought he and coco were lost during a really bad storm and were happy to see them. They looked a bit ruffled but healthy. We're getting ready to move and will miss them and Hank's sitting outfront yelling for us to come out.
Oh crows, i love both crows and ravens. Very intelligent, and if you do them harm, they remember, oh they remember, my neighbor did learn this hard way (hehhehe).
It's so amazing how crows can be so friendly and not just that it's their intelligence to how cunning they can be. They are such an incredible species that roams the Earth. Their levels of smarts cease to amaze me. I remember growing up we had a crow that visited our porch every now and then in the '70's. He too could talk and was kind of cool. We fed him but nothing that would have him keep returning day after day. He had a tag on his one leg and if I recall his name was Fred. My parents told us that since he was a wild bird not to feed them as they become reliant on humans. Probably good that we didnt feed him as a daily stop but in the end he only visited our porch a few times and we never saw him after that. I wondered what happened with him from time to time. Turns out he even made the local paper but after he was found deceased. Poor ol' bird, don't recall his demise but I think it was human that finished his days off.
I hope the malcontents who complained about Peanut the squirrel dont decide to report this guy. Our gungho govt officials will swoop down in masse & do him in like they did Peanut. Keep Jimini safe!! He's a treasure! ❤
We had a pet crow named Edgar Allen Crow. That was back when NY didn't care. If you're in NY watch out. You can't keep any protected wildlife as a pet in NY anymore. Crows are protected now.
This video needs taken down ASAP and anything else anyone has posted with beloved pets. Now worth the risk. This government just keeps being more invasive every day
I don't understand why people hate crows and ravens. OK, so they eat carrion, God made them to do this. It prevents the spread of disease. The way I see it, their doing their job. Incidently, both Bald eagles and American eagles do also. Where I live we have large populations of both, and I frequently see this, especially in the winter. Why don't we hate them, too?
I wouldn't advertise your pet crow. The animal shelter might come and remove him from your home and euthanize him like the poor squirrel peanut. As the story goes the guy owned him for many years and it made know difference to them. Their excuse is it was a possible rabies carrier. It's a bunch of 💩 if you ask me.
Crows very intelligent if you miss treat one they will attack you for the nexted 5 years with other crows as they also have a photograph memory for that long they are gl and messengers as well and work with the universe
She probably submitted the necessary paperwork. Peanut's owners exploited him for cash and continued posting content after moving without getting permits
Listen to the vid. He can't be released. He is too tame and wouldn't survive in the wild. She had two options. euthanasia or keep him captive. I'm glad she kept him.
It would stay there. It would always want to be around the woman. When she abandoned it it would become seriously depressed.animals get attached to humans in love more than many people understand.dogs cause they can will give their life for their owners.and most times they don't second guess it.true love 1 lays its life down for others.i believe when we measure our lives to be more than and greater than others we end up with a world like we have now.kindness does matter.
Peanut was killed by his own owner's negligence and stupidity. He had the chance to get properly certified in order to keep Peanut legally, or give Peanut to a proper rehab, and refused to do so. Peanut bit someone after being potentially exposed to rabies due to the owner illegally keeping other wild animals that can carry rabies in the same home, which is a serious public health hazard.
He is beautiful.
Bless Jimini and all crows, and keep them safe from human harm.
Cats don't exist to you or what?
I am now afraid of clicking on these cute ones after I had one that ended with RIP cute animal I just had a good time enjoying!!!:(
I love Crows. I have been feeding them at my house in Virginia for a few years now. They love boiled eggs. They are very smart birds.
I’m shadow banned but can post under comments.

Sounds divine. Do you take the boiled eggs out of the shell for them?
@@jaysky2000 yes you need to peel the egg for them
Cannibalism
Jimini Crowket quite possibly the best crow name ever.

I love crows. Thank you sharing this poignant story.
Sucks you'll never know what happened. 22 years is a longgggggggggg time.
😢
Wow! He was part of your family for 22 years! 💕 What was his name?
I’m amazed that crows can talk! Wow!
A very fine appearing, talented crow!
They say crows are smart and they take care of you I believe it’s true
If I walked in my house and a crow said hello, I would lose my 💩
Lol

They have an amazing memory and communal relationship.

Jeeeez sad story!
They come every year to harvest our walnuts. And also the persimmons.they are very bright birds. Love watching them !!❤😊
He's a baby! He's so cute!
I have a smaller cousin of crows, a Starling. He is a crow only smaller. talks , everything.
Thanks 🦜
Keep him away from the NY Wildlife officials so he doesn’t meet Peanuts at the Golden Bridge.

Wonderful bird!
love crows ravens whatever, they are awesome. bless this lady.
"LOVE!" ?
It's a pity the crow can't get a word in because of its owner's constant talking!
Can he sing “When I See An Elephant Fly”.
I have two Crows that are waiting for part of my breakfast every morniing.
I hope the malcontents who complained about Peanut the squirrel dont decide to report this guy. Our gungho govt officials will swoop down in masse & do him in like they did Peanut. Keep Jimini safe!! He's a treasure! ❤
She probably submitted the paperwork unlike peanut's owners. They exploited him for cash
Love ❤️
I wish our politicians were as smart as that crow!☢⚛

Peanut the squirrel just got whacked by animal control in NY
Haha
This video needs taken down ASAP and anything else anyone has posted with beloved pets. Now worth the risk. This government just keeps being more invasive every day
She probably actually did the paperwork. Peanut's owners exploited him for cash
@jennaa1ja the problem is the guy was a weakling. NOBODY is taking my squirrel away. The cops would have got beat up for trespassing.
He looks very naughty
They are very much in Bangladesh.
👍

She is doing all the talking, not jimini.
❤❤❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
Why is he tied up?
So he doesn’t fly away.
😀
Ummm! Cutting it a little close with the name guys LOLOLOLOL!!!
why is he hobbled?
So we can’t fly away.
Crows very intelligent if you miss treat one they will attack you for the nexted 5 years with other crows as they also have a photograph memory for that long they are gl and messengers as well and work with the universe
Is he going to end up being taken by government and euthanized like Peanut and the racoon?
She probably submitted the necessary paperwork. Peanut's owners exploited him for cash and continued posting content after moving without getting permits
Look out
Here comes your state DNR to take it away .
Crows are smarter than you!
Why is the Crow tied with a string ?
Is She afraid the Crow may fly away ?
JJJ
😂😂😅
Nice, but why do you have to keep him tethered. He should be free.
It’s pronounced ‘mis-chee-vus’.
I hope she's not in NY or that crow's days are numbered just like the squirrel
becareful. some state swat team will do a peanut
I hope you're not in NY.
Tethered?
Wait till ny democrats find out bout this
It’s chained soo bad let him free 😡🙄

Let him fly. You are just abusing him.
That crow is an excellent friend and pet. It is a shame that Peanut the squirrel was seized and killed by New York wildlife
assasins.
