Great Video. Those browns are as colored up as you can get. As smallmouth are precious to the bass fisherman, the Brown Trout holds that same superiority to Fly Fisherman.
Even with brand-new felt-soled boots, it is slippery right below the dam. I fished it for many years and always did well catching both rainbow and brown trout. My favorite section was just above the Buford trout hatchery fishing the small pools and runs about 300 yds above the stairway.
Love this section of the Hooch. I float it on a regular basis with the kayak. Biggest brown I have ever caught was 18”, but there are some true beasts roaming around. Heading to the Soque tomorrow with PHWFF to visit Rivers edge, and it will be my first time fly fishing as well.
I know this is an old video but can you go into what flies you were using and the setup? I fish there all the time and haven’t caught anything over 12 inches. Usually on prince nymph midge dropper.
Really enjoying your videos. Can you describe the leader you typically use? You've probably been asked a hundred times already and maybe have answered it elsewhere. Thanks.
Usually when I say natural bug it’s anything other than an egg or a squirmy, even though some of the flies aren’t quite natural like a flashy perdigon or something, but usually my natural patterns I like to fish are walts worms pheasant tails frenchies and simple stuff like that
We didn’t start til around 11:30ish the generation cut off around 10:30 this morning so we had to wait for the water to drop before we could actually get in.
Great water and good fishing, tight lines, thumbs up and greetings from New Zealand fishers,, Tony.
Love that section of the Hooch!
Brown Town
Great trip, and thanks for letting us know about the PFD at the dam. Keep up the great work!

Beautiful browns!
Come fish with us sometime down here whenever you’re back in the NC area!
@@creekninjasfishing would love to. I’ll let you know when I’m coming down!
Great video fellas. Thanks for the info on the PFDs. Love the 4Runner.

Those wild Browns are absolutely stunning 😍 I hope to make it down your way this year.
They’re the prettiest fish I’ve ever seen
Great fun! I still say you're Scott Low's long last twin brother.
Hahahaha we do favor each other a lot

I run a micro nymphing leader with 6lb to 4lb with a 4x sighter
Wow micro indeed. What are your lengths of the 6 and 4lb. Thanks a lot!
An opportunity for me to see brown fish where you fish. In my country there is no fish like this.
In two of your videos I heard you use the term "natural bug." Is that a nymph that doesn't have a bead head?

Not giving away spots/locations, but were you there in the morning? I always fish the mornings.

@@creekninjasfishing That’s true. The most important factor when going there is water level and generation.
How far down from dam were you
Is this Bowman’s Island?
