    If my dad was still alive, we would have this tool. We were cutting 8-10 cords a year, and my back and knees feel it now.

    I had one, used it for a couple weeks and sent it back for refund. I did not have the holster thing, and every time I wanted to use it, I had to find it and lift it, then use it to lift rounds or splits. It ends up adding its not inconsiderable weight to everything you lift with it.
    I eventually found it easier to either use my pickaroon or just bend over and pick the stuff up. I can see the holster helps for keeping it handy, but it's still a heavy tool you have to lift over and over again.

    That is a total game changer for me. I've been thinking about getting a pickaroon and a timber jack for a while, the fact that it can do the extra's like not bending down for every single piece and having it on your hip is awesome. I love cutting firewood out in the bush , but the older I get (50+) the more these kind of tools have a greater payback.
    Great Video, very imformative!

    • @bergatube60
      @bergatube60 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Made by Americans , is that a quality sign? I mean i had a chevy once, it started to come apart on the tour home from the dealer. It seems that that car was thrown together with a spade. The tool hook has been seen in many years. And as for standing hooking Your back with the chain saw over the timber all day, that is not an ergonomic way of work. Sorry pal, I am not impressed with this “invention”

      @Gus VanHorn shitrovlet is both clever and stupid. Clever as a parody of Chevrolet and stupid because you can't spell it well enough to make it recognizable. Chev is to Shit and rolet is to rolet. So instead of Shitrovlet, you should've said Shitrolet. No need for the v, much less moving out of its original position.

    I cut my firewood in winter (green birch)and use a snowmobile and very large toboggan. wood is cut to size on snow, spilt in place with a long handle axe and then use a pitchfork to throw it in toboggan the first time I actually handle the wood is when I stack it on pile.the colder the temperature the easier the wood splits. The use of a log splitter to me is just more wood handing. most often less is better

This is a well made very versatile tool, and likely a must have for those gearing up to cut wood. You have done a great service to anyone wanting to know real world use of it. I built myself a real strong table just slightly taller than the bed of my splitter, the top is 4x4ft and it sits right close to the splitter. With a log tong in each hand I can pile that table up high in no time and then I can run the splitter nonstop for a while, when the tables empty I throttle down the splitter, load the table and repeat. With two people you can run nonstop.

    This looks like a real asset for anyone splitting wood. I seen a comment on another post that someone was concerned about the little "hairpin clips" (idk what they're really called) that hold some of the pieces. I think if you're careful with your equipment it looks to be fine. It comes with that great bag so if you just put your equipment back where it goes (I hear my dad repeating this command in my ear, lol) it seems it would be fine to me. From what I've seen of the LogOx folks they definitely know what they're doing. Thanks for sharing. God Bless. ~Lisa

    • @MountainFisher

      Clevis pins is the name for the "hairpin clips." They wouldn't be any problem in this configuration except if you lost them. If they are a standard size like 1/2" then replacing them would be easy as well as the spring cotter pins.

      I agree, I want one but dang it you gotta cut a lot of wood to justify that kind of expense, that's expensive.

    • @LogOXUSA
      @LogOXUSA 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @NightForce It's important not to conflate price with value. A similar sized, but one dimensional, cant hook of comparable quality costs north of $120. Anything in the $80-$90 price range (usually imports) may last you for a couple of seasons, but you'll find that their hooks don't bite into the wood very well and their handles are likely to break when you least expect it or want them to. The LogOX is made in the USA, guaranteed for life, and combines three different high quality tools (not counting the Pickaroon attachment) with a value of well over $250 if you were to purchase comparable tools separately. Along with the unique log Hauler back-saving feature we invented, the LogOX provides the best value, utility, and dependability of any forestry hand tool on the market.

      Love2boat92 yeah.. I’m 6’4”, not sure how tall he is but it’s a pain having to bend for 99% of life’s work 😂
      Either way though, with this you will bend less, and your back will thank you for that

    • @LogOXUSA
      @LogOXUSA 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shawn K, you're absolutely right, the LogOX will take the strain of continually bending over out of harvesting firewood, and your back will thank you!

      Love2Boat92 Thanks for saying so! It's a patented tool that we developed and fully launched just this year. I'd give it a try first before you break out the welding torch though, since the length of most people's arms are proportional to their height. For instance, I'm 6'3" and works just as well for me as it would for someone who's 5"3, since my arms are longer.

      LogOx, (just being honest as a piss poor consumer lol) for $110.00 thats more than my chainsaw cost me. ill wait till i find one used for $15. i could understand $45 new. love2boat, ended up going late 90's Japanese shindaiwa 488 $60 barely used. included a case, extra chain, plug, wrench and bottle of original shindaiwa oil i refuse to use (bought amsoil saber instead.) i absolutely love this saw after just 2hrs use. i highly recommend shindaiwa.

      Billy Darley Wow that's a great deal. Hope it works out great for you. Shindawa makes a nice saw. We have one.

    I would be concerned by the weight of the thing for one - all in one tools are great except when you need them to do the other thing and have to switch. Best to organize your work i guess. belt clip looks great i wonder how secure it is ? will it stay when on you when it isn't flat terrain and your in the wood twisting around cause you cant skid the tree out to somewhere comfortable ?.

    • @LogOXUSA
      @LogOXUSA 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Frank Z the entire tool weighs just 12 lbs assembled, which is comparable to a similar sized timberjack. Because the LogOX attachments are connected with just three clevis pins, rather than bolts that require an allen wrench to change, it transitions between tools easily. The hauler holster (belt clip) does a great job holding the LogOX Hauler by your side to keep your hands free while operating a log splitter, that's all it's designed for. I wore one while competing at the 2018 Great Firewood Shootout at the Paul Bunyan Show in Ohio with our friends at ABS/Timberwolf Splitters, and through all the twisting and moving I did while speeding through firewood, it kept the hauler securely in place. You can see a video of it here th-cam.com/video/9W9SeWii1hg/w-d-xo.html

    Is the pickaroon included? I don't see it in the product descriptions. Looks interesting, though!

      Hi Lliam, the PickOX is a pickaroon attachment that is included in the Forester Package, which includes all of the tools shown in the video. It can also be bought separately to use with a LogOX 3-in-1 Forestry MultiTool. Both are available on our website at thelogox.com

    • @LogOXUSA
      @LogOXUSA 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment Craig. Woodchuck makes some great tools and as a company in its first year of business, it's an honor to be compared with them. We actually used to use a Woodchuck Timberjack for bucking log rounds on our woodlot. Then we invented the LogOX Hauler to help with lifting log rounds as you can see in the video, and developed attachments to turn it into a cant hook and timberjack, which also allows it to disassemble and fit into a 28" carry bag. We'd definitely invite folks to compare the LogOX with other forestry tools out there and judge for themselves which one delivers the best versatility, portability, and value.

    I pick up big rounds with the pickaroon alone, The one i have has a way longer handle and a nice curved hook.Not a big fan of that straight pickaroon.. I am a bit of a savage though lol. Nice tool.

    I'm a tad old school and don't jump on fad stuff that overwhelms the "firewood" industry every year however this 3 in 1 tool is kinda interesting. Great video man. Found your channel by chance you got a sub out of it. One question I'm sure you did this for just the video but I turn my spliter sideways and back the truck up close enough to just toss the finished split parts directly in the truck . And if the truck isn't a beauty queen tail gate is a nice table for larger halfs..

      We keep a three year supply so it is nice and dry by the time it makes it to the stove. 20% moister or less. The bulk of the wood is Ash and oak.

      Unfortunately not available in the UK, I did write to them but although they replied by return, their despatchers never replied. Will have to use what we have and then adapt it for use on our farm in a similar fashion.

      Hi Kristopherkok, we do ship to Canada on our website www.thelogox.com The shipping rates can get a bit pricy depending on which province you live in, but we are in the process of working to set up distributors in Canada for 2018.

    • @LogOXUSA
      @LogOXUSA 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Lloyd, sorry we seem to have had a break in communications with you. We do ship internationally from our website, so please feel free to send us a note with your mailing address at customerservice@thelogox.com and we'll investigate what the best shipping option would be for you. At around 14-19 Lbs. (1-1.3 Stone) per package, international shipping rates can become prohibitively expensive, but we'll certainly work with you to find the best carrier possible. We also look forward to expanding our availability in Europe through local distributors in the coming years!
