A year later and you just saved me about $500 dollars so thank you sir. Mine didn’t snap off but after pulling the small hose back revealed a crack in the inlet.
just replaced mine for $140 including porsche coolant. had two issues: 1. had trouble getting that lower clamp off because of that bigger, star-shaped hose segment underneath was blocking the clamp from moving down and out of the way, so i used vice grips and just held it open as i screwed off the tank and replaced it with the new tank, then slid the already-opened clamp back on. 2. i didn't need to remove the small hose with the blue release buttons (shown in the video), but i did anyway to get to the larger clamp underneath; pressing that plastic hose fitting back on was a bitch. i had to go back and watch the video to see that his snapped into place. mine was not going all the way down and wouldn't come back off either; it took quite a bit of force to press it back in and lock into place. oh, and a 3rd issue was when i dropped a #30 torx bit down into the engine compartment and out of sight 😬hopefullly it'll fall out in the next few days driving. thanks for the great video!
too late for you but if someone reading wonders the same, I was told that yes, I can add clean water and drive on. But do wait for the car to totally cool to be safe doing it.
No need to do that as the system was never emptied. Just the expansion tank so as soon as you fill that up the hose that connects to the bottom will let all the air out. You’d only need to bleed it if you’re system got really low or a hose was replaced.
Thanks for the detailed diy repair tips…. I’ve got a ‘16 Macan S that came back from rear bumper repairs/ auto body shop needing 3/4 gallon of coolant.. throwing P2181, P0128, P3081 hopefully They didn’t do anything sketchy while it was there for 6 weeks! SMH
Excellent video!! But GTFO with your Porsche coolant lol... also, make sure you drink exclusively Porsche water while driving your Macan! Otherwise your kidneys might explode. Jokes aside, you can buy from any decent brand that makes coolant for the Audi/VW/Porsche group. Coolant is ethylene glycol and water... pretty simple.
My local dealer just quoted me $2,830 (?!) to replace tank/hose. I found your video, ordered same parts--you just saved me $2,500 bucks!! THANK YOU.
OMG 😱 I wasn’t sure what they would charge but yeah not hard and that’s outrageous. Glad I could help out 👍🏻👍🏻🏁🏁🏁
@@BlakesGarage they claimed it was labor for the vent line...
I bet you were misquoted there is a common coolant leak from the vent tube that goes underneath the intake manifold. That price seems more accurate!
Ok, great video and I lost a tank mount T30 screw. Is there a part number for replacement anyone?

Hell yeah! Glad I could help 👍🏻
Awesome! Thanks bro! Hopefully you’ll make more porsche Macan turbo videos. How to change air filters, front bumper plastic covers etc..
Helpful, thanks. I won't do it myself but can now see what's involved. Thanks.
The old reservoir was looking crusty for sure. Thanks for the new one!
How cool is that? Did not know, The wifey had her own channel?
Nice! I have a macan s and this upload was really helpful! Thanks my guy! Love watching your channel grow! O.G subscriber from Vancouver Canada!
Awesome!! Love Canada 🇨🇦 I want to go back again someday. Glad you enjoyed the content 🏁🏁

Thanks for the updated tips! Glad I could help you could save some 💰
After seeing this issue I went out, took both connections off slowly, greased the fitting and tightened back up.
Thank you so much! Very helpful! Cheers!
Do you need to add water to the coolant
nicest box opener ever hahaha
Thanks
Nice, cool video. I enjoy the content man even if I don’t have a Porsche hahah
Thanks!! Yeah I tried to make it as entertaining as possible
Love it
Also my coolant leaked completely. To go to the dealer can I Add coolant and go there.

This must be a common problem mines did the same thing
My exact problem
did you bleed the coolant

Dang probably could have saved buying that lol
Looks the same but it's not.
