The FMC (dark window on the map) is part of the basegame since 3.8 the modification here is merely the simbrief button.

How do you make the plane follow the flight plan automatically?

select one of the waypoint checkmarks and enable autopilot

what does the Ui tweaks do specifically?

the tweaks add a button to popout chat and enables mousewheel in (most) input fields like HDG ALT etc. doesnt currently work with SPD (since 3.8)
