@Snowblur Studios idk about that. The Horizontal barely works. Also: Wiper can combo with a vertical Slash so the killtime is not that much of a problem.
The warp could make things easier if they warp to a closer spawn by basket ie: flyfish spawns at the docks on spawning grounds then warps to the spawn behind basket !
I’m not upset that it got missiles, I’m upset it didn’t get super chumps. Could you imagine the kit synergy if it did? You could jump to a beacon while the chumps are going off, go hyper aggressive and use chumps as a shield, it would just be so fun and am disappointed since it doesn’t seem like we’re getting another chump weapon.
R.I.P. Flingza. I'll get it to 5 stars but then I'm probably dropping it for wiper deco cause I'm a big beakon fan and wiper is a more versatile and useful main.
It's a real, adaptable weapon. Of course the kill time technically can be worse than Clash, but that's like comparing Sploosh to Jet. You aren't reliably getting that up close with Clash. You can also spam Vertical Slashes, with longer range, reliable damage and a 2 shot. This all doesn't even mention the 1 shot (mostly because the window for one is REALLY narrow but 💀). This 'bad kill time' can easily be eliminated by, drumroll... THE DAMN MISSILES! Mixing that with the range that it has is very annoying potential
Spamming missiles has never really been an issue in this game. The problem is its a weapon that can follow up on its own missiles. You dont need many missiles when a single launch can instantly win you map control. The other missile weapons relied on output because they were bad enough that sometimes a single launch didnt actually do anything but wiper will be different there.
@@conan4real spamming missiles wasn't nearly as bad as in 2. With the 3 missile weapons all being bad teams basically had to choose between 3 players and a missile player or 4 players for their team. It wasn't a healthy special but it really wasn't nearly as bad as people were whining.
ngl this was mostly what i thought when i saw the wiper deco. i'm not exactly as scared about missiles (been using them on dualies back on splatoon 2) but more so about the fact it's on a weapon that can paint decently and fight well. and even then it's on a weapon that wants to get in, get frags, and be an annoyance.... not hang back and use missiles. as somebody who used splat dualies in 2 and looking back at that playtime, there's an inherent kit anti-synergy there. Missiles wants to be spammed from safety, which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Splatana class is about, getting in, charging slashes, and cleaving through fools like an ink coated blade through a well watered inkling or octoling. the only kit synergy is has is, ironically, the weakest link of the kit, the Beakon. it's great for getting right back into the fray, which is where Splatanas want to be.
This is basically what I've been telling people. As a Wiper main, you typically combo with the torpedo most of the time. With this setup, you are now forced to either farm from a distance and banzai charge for one-hit kills because you no longer have the option to combo.
thank you for making this video, gem! it really helped to clear up most of my missiles-related fear. i think right now most of the community is just afraid of going back to splatoon 2's boring missile spam meta so whenever something gets missiles (and is like. kinda good) people freak out. im excited to see what this new kit will do for wiper and people who play it!
I feel like you forgot to mention the similarities between the neo sploosh and this new wiper weapon, no negative feedback, but I feel like the community as a whole needs to acknowledge how it would push as well as the neo sploosh and in how it SHOULD push in order for it to be healthy
I'm fucking living rn. The reaction to Wiper Deco. Me over here having predicted this half-jokingly and gone "gimme". don't think I'll actually be fully pulled away from my ballpoint but it's definitely a secondary just to hurt people =)
So much of my big sad comes from how much excitement I initially had when sizzle season was first announced vs. how little excitement I currently have for it as each new piece of info about it is announced (e.g. sprinkler and reefslide on sblast, challenge modes being incredibly time-boxed events, sprinkler on light tetra dualies, etc.). And so now with the announcement of tenta-missiles on wiper, a highly-played weapon, I can also look forward to the first week or two of the season being yet another missile spam-fest, because make no mistake, whether or not it's a GOOD playstyle for this weapon or a particularly viable one (I agree that it's not and am genuinely pleased to see how slowly it actually builds special in this video) many, many people are still going to be exclusively doing that, just for the lulz. Once that subsides, ya the season will probably be not so bad after all, but for something called "sizzle" season they sure decided to pour a lot of cold water on it.
The problem is if people decide that even if it's a bad playstyle for this thing to spam missiles, it won't stop people in solo from doing that unless they further nerf missiles
@@noizepusher7594 Uhoh, we got a tough guy, I'll make sure to watch out 🤣 And I think it's fairly clear that I did both (complain and "watch the damn video"). Got a problem, take it up with nobody, that's about who cares.
@@dufflebagg well the whole point of the video is that wiper with missiles isn’t that bad. I wouldn’t be annoyed if you disagreed but you aren’t even mentioning anything in the video. You are going off the base assumption that wiper getting missiles is horrible and will kill the game, when Gem’s video is about how this isn’t the case. If you want to argue the points made I’m all for it, but that isn’t what you’re doing.
@@noizepusher7594 I mean I didn't come here to argue points I came here to complain and watch the damn video, you weren't wrong about that. You started talking to me, you seem to think we were already locked in some debate? I have no interest in your thoughts. Additionally I have no base assumption about the game being killed. I specifically reference how I was pleased to see (in this video...) that it does have trouble building special. I made a likely VERY prescient point about how people are gonna be spamming missiles for a couple weeks anyway and, in the context of other announcements I personally find to be bummers, it's kinda killing my vibe. These are my complaints. And you're right, this is what I'm doing here. What are you doing here?
On the contrary, as a Wiper player myself, I am thrilled. In all seriousness though, I think this weapon will be a top tier easily. Wiper has Torpedo, which yeah, location, small chip, but it's not that great. And Hammer only got its consistency fixed a couple months ago. But Wiper has been a top tier ever since it got the paint buff and Crab became more popular. Now, we just got an object-massacring weapon that can poke most weapons at a safe range WITHOUT a bomb just by using its two slashes, a weapon that can effectively support and locate with Beakons, and can destroy objects (and people) (and paint) (and take space) even further with tactical nukes. Even though it'll be forced to play less run-and-die QR because it's got a special now, I have no doubt that Wiper Deco is going to be another meta-defining weapon for Sizzle Season.
I actually really like that the supportive kit loses its QR viability. Missiles is too much of a valuable special that it can't just move into the back lines and zoom all about with no fear of death anymore as it would lose its charge. I think it'll be really interesting seeing such an aggressive weapon forced into the role of a more supportive one. It'll function completely differently and I am actually really interested. (I do wish they gave it booyah, chump, or storm instead for the supportive kit though. It didn't have to be missiles.)
I absolutely disagree with the "weak main weapon" argument It's DPS is already high and has a ton of range to compensate for it's lack of single hit damage and that's only taking into account non charged slashes, a normal one (which mind you it doesn't take more than 2 seconds to charge) can deal 60 and combo to non charged for faster kills, it paints super well and again, has a really good amount of range for a frontline weapon I believe Splatana is BY FAR the best main weapon in the game, otherwise it wouldn't be used in competitive despite having the worst special
@@RiahGreen Meant to say the worst special back then before the patch But even before the patch it was still a high tier, which still proves my point that Wiper is just the best main weapon
@@RiahGreen Nah Tetras are a good runner up but not better than Wiper Reefslider and Ultra Stamp where pretty much in the same position tbh, one was super punishable and the other just didn't work
It kinda reminds me of people overreacting to the Neo-Splash and don't take into account what makes the original kit great. I think the Splatana Deco will be viable, but I'd still pick the vanilla one for its bomb combos and ability to disrupt back liners without a special.
I feel like my problem is that both will still be viable as well as Stamper too probably, which means that Splatanas are gonna take over more of the meta and decrease weapon diversity
@@loganmiller7827 As long as splatanas have counterplay that aren’t more splatanas, there will be weapon diversity. You WANT strong weapons with strong counters - Diper is a good kit we just need more consistently good kits to counter it.
@nickg5341 if Splatanas push out other weapon classes though then that's not a good thing. I don't necessarily know enough about that to say for sure but I'm just saying that this kit looks to be so strong that there won't be much other counter play options to it other than the few things that are already top tier and making it harder for other things to get in there. Wiper Deco is too good of a kit and the devs insistence on making shitty kits except for when they accidentally throw darts at a wall in a way that makes something good happen can't keep up with it. I just wanna feel like I can actually use the weapons I like even when I'm playing for fun in solo but according to the devs that is too much to ask. I'm just so pissed off at the way this whole season has gone down and I don't wanna deal with it anymore
ngl this sounds like copium unless they nerf missiles, this is gonna be a nightmare on the ladder (prob not gonna be a big deal in competitive, but idgaf about comp)
FINALLY SOMEONE MENTIONS THE BEAKON'S SCOUTING ABILITY! Feels like one of the most overlooked aspects of the game. It's the only way I manage to play Neo Sploosh
The flingza x wiper deco synergy will be really good I reckon, since flingza is already a pretty good weapon on its own even without missiles (I’d prefer rain on it anyways, just give it a bomb like fizzy or auto), but it can trap beakons with ink mines to damage opponents who want to break them. I know it’s not a good strat but it would be fun to use imo
Honestly I didn't find it too different than s2 octobrush nouveau. Matter of fact, back in drizzle season i made a build similar to my nouveau build cuz i anticipated something like this
I may as well take a video about Missiles to shoot my shot... I've heard terms like "Retake Specials" being thrown around and I'm not too sure what that means. There doesn't seem to be a Squid School video about general goals with Specials aside from Inkjet (such as what kinds of Specials there are, when should I be looking to use Specials, what should I be trying to achieve with them) so maybe future video idea? I don't know, I thought I'd put it out there.
As a Wiper main, I was scared that the meta was doomed, and it was going to be my fault. I really don't think missiles works with the wiper. Beacon is fine because it allows the weapon to get back in and be aggressive. I wanted the ink storm because it can push with it and combo well, and technically it CAN do that with missiles... Except for the fact that missiles aren't played like that. If you're a missile weapon, your gonna fire them from across the map and you're gonna like it. I'll probably still play vanilla wiper on most modes, except for probably zones.
Missiles *can* be useful from mid/close quarters (source: I play aggressive Flingza) but it takes a lot of practice to know when it's safe + strategically sound to pop 'em, and you WILL have to accept getting 2-3 target locks max most of the time.
A caveat we´re overlooking is that a fast mobile weapon will never be far enough form the fray to maximize its missile target count, making a less optimal use of the special.
I think that this weapon will be fine, but if it ends up being too strong, they better nerf the Missiles and not the main weapon. If they nerf the main weapon, then the vanilla Wiper, which is perfectly balanced, will also be hurt. Hopefully they target the actual problem, instead of dancing around and nerfing everything else while avoiding it.
I think the main way this kit goes sideways is if it abuses the beakon farming strats of s2 sploosh neo. Those strats weren't good so they should be even worse on wiper, but only time will tell if they become common regardless.
I almost stopped playing the game when pre nerf missles were a thing in this game. I seriously have PTSD from pre patch missles so I hope this update doesn't trigger my PTSD war flashbacks again.
I'm still convinved they made the missiles more staggered ini their iimpact than what I remember from Splatoon 2, whihc makes it a lot harder to avoid dragging them across the map.
tent is more than functional right now (just stop kissing the shield and you won’t die through it) and, in proper comps for it, shits on crab. imo the thing holding it back is vac which even still can do decent at pocketing teammates on pushes or countering specials. the new wiper kit is basically just a better vbrush now so I’m predicting tent/bp/neo/brush comps are gonna turn into sorella tent/bp/neo/wiper deco since you can still keep the beakons for the qr pair to get back in quickly, have a better special to farm behind the enemy, and the tent can zooka for itself now when pinching with the wiper
I wanted wiper to have Kraken, not missiles. I just want to play Krak-On Roller 90°. That said, I'm really excited by missiles on this, it gives you lots of info about where the enemy team is that you can use to either kill them while they're panicked, or use that info to place beakons.
I remember seeing one person (not naming names) saying 'F Splatoon, let's make a competitive Foamstars team' after what I presume to be the news of this kit releasing. I'm not too concerned by it, though, I might use this kit but not send out like 10 Missiles a match or something, I want the most value I can get out of missiles.
As a big swig main, i fear the splatana itself. Giving it beakon is what im scared of, becuase now i have no clue where they are and cannot pin them... i suffer the fate of low dps and i want splatanas in sight at all times because they counter me already.
super chump missiles sounds fun idk how good i accualy would be but it seems good? Forces displacment then throws cover for your team as well the push in capability of it could be nice with only maybe a tristrike with swim form able to stop it or a well timed booyha bomb plus the paint chumps put out is insane
What I find interesting is not so much it being on a weapon that can fight with it, but Wipers I observe in competitions want to try to take off-angles and flanks (even though they are extremely few in 3's map designs), and Missiles don't really fit a weapon that wants to try and sneak and break up the opponents lines (which placing Beakons would also imply, as it's not only a jump source, but an intel source as well) It will be a terror for a time, but likely not at the top levels as it's being made to believe.
I used to main Neo Sploosh for a while in S2 so I'm very excited for this new Wiper. It's my favorite kit combo because I instinctively know how to use it. I am going to be living in my opponent's walls with this thing.
Well I think what you’re ignoring is it will probably run special charge and get missiles a lot faster than shown. And the weapon does fight really well. It has good matchups to a lot of weapons because it can run circles around them and juke them. It will definitely miss a bomb but it can still farm missiles, and push in the chaos of it and get some people. Maybe it won’t be as good as people say but it’s the best weapon at fighting with missiles thus far and it can farm them relatively well so it could be a problem if the special points are lower than the others. Ultimately we’ll see what happens
I worry that some people trying out the wiper deco won't focus on the entitre kit and main weapon, rather they focus on missiles. Wiper along with stamper are some of the most fun weapons for me to use, and i don't want the splatana wiper deco to put a bad impression on the class in general and nerf wiper to a depressing state.
Talked about this video with a wiper player I know who's in a somewhat high LUTI div atm. I agree that this weapon isn't going to ruin the game, but we disagree on how weak you think wiper is. This main weapon is likely top 5 assuming it isn't directly nerfed. The special output comparison to Reeflux was for one, kinda unfair since only big swig can paint as well as reeflux, and two, reeflux was ONLY A SINGLE SECOND QUICKER. Wiper can farm this special like crazy if it really wants to, and much more practically than any other missile weapon. My friend also disagreed on some of your comparisons to it's fightability. Sure a clash blaster can outrange it, but did you know clash can also outrage VDualies? Clash has decent range, and can technically outrange wiper's hits, but wiper doesn't lose to that stuff because it has the ability to move so quickly and use charge slashes to increase its range. This weapon doesn't succeed because it has a .1 second kill time, it succeeds because trying to fight it is, as you said, like trying to kill a cockroach. If a weapon is a cockroach, it's a strong main weapon. Not everything has to be about kill time or range. As for torpedo, sure it will miss some of these combos to make it kill quicker, but now it has a sub that actually reveals its own location less. Wiper can be played in a very sneaky and hidden way, trying to get in quickly without people noticing. To do that, it needs to know where people are. You claimed wiper doesn't *need* to open the map, but in what case is opening the map actively a bad thing? Skilled players can read the map in 2-3 seconds at most, and with beacons highlighting exact player positions without needing to be damaged, wiper players can now hide behind cover with beacons set up and open the map to get a read on the *entire enemy team* in the best scenarios. Torpedo would only have found one player, while likely revealing you, since throwing it isn't exactly subtle. Assuming a wiper player DOESN'T play like this, beacons are still a fine sub for getting itself back in, map reading on the fly, etc. Losing torp for beacon isn't bad for wiper as you might think it is. As for tenta missiles, besides being the best special in the game in general, wiper will "spam" them similarly to the Kensa Splattershot, where it rushed in using the information and pressure the special gives for free. It will farm it, see where the entire team is, launch the missiles, and follow up on them to combo with the hits or possibly just OHKO one of them with the mark. Will this weapon ruin the game? Probably not, having no bomb is hard to run multiple of and spam. Is it going to be strong and top tier? We'll have to see, but the pieces are DEFINITELY in place.
Honestly, the whole "the gane is dead now!" Reaction i expected no matter what new kit got missles. And the only kit i feel that reaction would have been justifiable was in heavy splatling decos kit
Unrelated question, but is it normal to use a combination of sticks and gyro? I’ve found myself using sticks to turn and gyro for aiming, but I’m wondering how it affects my gameplay.
I think the biggest issue with this weapon is that it reinforces the current meta. As Gem mentioned, the top meta weapons like SoM and Sloshing Machine are not super scared of this thing, either in terms of being killed by it or being replaced by it. More likely, what will happen is it will be run alongside them and enhance their dominance further, while pushing other weapons that were on the fringe of the meta like chargers further out of it.
The reeflux is super underrated, I don’t play it as described in this video as I definitely challenge the opponent on the frontline more often albeit wisely as the weapon can one shot an opponent creating an opening for your team on top of the missile and ink support, tap shots are nice but this weapon can be way more aggressive when played right I really like it more than the tristringer for sure.
I'm excited for more beacons in comp, they're fun. I don't think tent is terrible tbh, beacons are great with it, and out of all the ink vac weapons it has the best synergy with vac by far, but ink vac is just so terribly balanced that it doesn't matter how much potential the main weapon has (also, tent is probably the brella that's least affected by netcode issues, just needs the damage buff honestly and then it'll be a pretty good main weapon, because it's not consistent at all right now.)
I like how all the comments at the time were like "nah you're wrong, not because of any points you made being wrong, but because i said so" and now in hindsight the weapons just kinda mid 😂
The problem is NOT the speed of spam or the quality of the weapon (which I don't think you're giving enough credit, especially with beacon combined with QR). The problem is that, because they're on a POPULAR weapon, we're going to see them basically everywhere, which IS a bad thing. Missiles are just an objectively unfun special to deal with because there's no way to fight them like crab or jetpack, they displace more than booyah and tristrike, they *guarantee* displacement, they reveal entire team locations at any distance, and they can potentially wipeout an entire team without having to put yourself in danger. They're just truly awful to deal with, and putting them on a playable and popular weapon, that can move really quickly thanks to its inking pattern, will only make that worse.
what i am worried about is its playstyle, specifically because of beacons. i have barely touched wiper so i am going to take your words for this one. "a hard to kill cockroach that lives in your walls" combined with beacons alone is fairly scary on its own. combined with "invincibility" by jumping back to spawn to pop missles and then back at a completely diffrent and potentially a sharking spot to suprise your opponents, it quickly becomes nightmare fuel. and just to be clear. i am not worried about this kit being unhealthy to the game. i am worried about this kit replacing three weapons on your team, leaving them as simply extra firepower. besides. unlike reeflux it won't run out of paintable ground. so whilst it might not be as fast as reef, it will still be the most consistent missle weapon in Splatoon 3. perhaps the most consistent missle weapon ever. (i haven't played s2 or s1) but i have to admit that is is exiting to see the devs being unconventional with the kitmaking. i REALLY hope they continue like this.
Question for the reef-lux, I actually personally like using reef. And no not to missile spam. I do play support however, to say reef can’t kill I’d personally say is a bit of an exaggeration. Now it is not THE BEST or OVERLY GOOD by any means. However, With practicing with bamboozler and Reef, timing is key to get good picks of. I’ve gotten plenty of one shot KOs with reef and that’s given my aim and mechanics isn’t the best. I feel like the one shot kill time of the reef is underestimated at times. Do I think the weap is top tier? Nah, but do I think it can’t get good kill times? I think it can rack up a good bit of KOs more than people let on. btw the question being, Does Reef suck or is it just difficult to use for people?
There is some merit to the video that wiper deco isn’t AS bad as people make it out to be, but there was one very important trait that you got wrong about wiper. It DOES out range short range shooters, not just with its vertical swipes but also it horizontal. This is the second main reason wiper is good outside of its mobility, it’s great at spacing against their opponents. This means that this kit won’t need to always play qr, as it can just poke from a distance before popping special AND THEN moving in. Wiper is an incredible fighter, but due to its range it doesn’t need to fight to be effective. If the points for special is 190 or even 200, then this weapon will be scary.
THANK YOU. i am so annoyed at the instant outrage/worry over a weapon kit!!! missile bad can be pretty funny but oh my gosh people are just taking it so seriously.
Dear god… Missiles are not even threatening past a certain skill level. That’s like saying clash blaster is OP because noobs can’t counter it. You can literally walk away from the missiles with one main of run speed too.
I've been trying to tell people that this will be niche, rather than top tier. And people have been saying I'm wrong because "But Missiles are on a good main weapon!" Like.... Wiper alone is fine but it's not OP. It can't play the QR build it used to because then it's never getting its special, and it has no bomb to fall back on. It's going to die simply because all it has now is the main weapon and trying to stay alive. That's not a great spot to be in when the kill time is slow.
I feel like you’re kind of ignoring wiper’s range and ability to synergize with missiles, people are freaking out because this thing can play aggressive. Wiper is going to be able to pop missiles, and be able to rush down multiple players at a time. If it had a lethal bomb it’d be broken, just like kshot, but it’s still going to be a top tier because missiles is strong and now it’s on a good main weapon. More importantly, it’s a good main weapon against crab, and booyah. This thing will immediately be run 1 of on each comp that has someone who likes wiper.

This is basically what I've been telling people. As a Wiper main, you typically combo with the torpedo most of the time. With this setup, you are now forced to either farm from a distance and banzai charge for one-hit kills because you no longer have the option to combo.
Hopefully it plays like a grim range blaster, which is a weapon that HAS missiles, and not like Reef-Flux, which is a weapon that IS missiles
This has the same energy as trying to reassure an older relative that the world isn’t ending because *insert arbitrary reason*
We are freaking out because we have splatoon 2 ptsd
Fr
The wiper didn't get the missiles, the missiles got the wiper
thank you for making this video, gem! it really helped to clear up most of my missiles-related fear. i think right now most of the community is just afraid of going back to splatoon 2's boring missile spam meta so whenever something gets missiles (and is like. kinda good) people freak out. im excited to see what this new kit will do for wiper and people who play it!
Me over here having predicted this half-jokingly and gone "gimme".
don't think I'll actually be fully pulled away from my ballpoint but it's definitely a secondary just to hurt people =)
oh right I might try the new tenta brella kit
Did you just come here to complain and not just watch the damn video?
I absolutely disagree with the "weak main weapon" argument
It's DPS is already high and has a ton of range to compensate for it's lack of single hit damage and that's only taking into account non charged slashes, a normal one (which mind you it doesn't take more than 2 seconds to charge) can deal 60 and combo to non charged for faster kills, it paints super well and again, has a really good amount of range for a frontline weapon
I believe Splatana is BY FAR the best main weapon in the game, otherwise it wouldn't be used in competitive despite having the worst special
is this bait? Hammer is not the worst special
@@RiahGreen Meant to say the worst special back then before the patch
But even before the patch it was still a high tier, which still proves my point that Wiper is just the best main weapon
@@MurfyDaMarfi Me when I forget tetra. Also it wasn't the worst special before the patch either.
@@RiahGreen Nah Tetras are a good runner up but not better than Wiper
Reefslider and Ultra Stamp where pretty much in the same position tbh, one was super punishable and the other just didn't work
It kinda reminds me of people overreacting to the Neo-Splash and don't take into account what makes the original kit great.
I'm just so pissed off at the way this whole season has gone down and I don't wanna deal with it anymore
wasnt the problem with neo splash was not that it was a bad or insane kit but that its basically the exact same as ttek
that hasnt changed at all
@@nickg5341 Diper 😭
ngl this sounds like copium
unless they nerf missiles, this is gonna be a nightmare on the ladder (prob not gonna be a big deal in competitive, but idgaf about comp)
they already nerfed missiles....thats why we stopped seeing reeflux's and why they buffed the reeflux to try and make it more relevant
Matter of fact, back in drizzle season i made a build similar to my nouveau build cuz i anticipated something like this
Honestly since crab meta missles havent felt as bad to deal with

I may as well take a video about Missiles to shoot my shot...
I've heard terms like "Retake Specials" being thrown around and I'm not too sure what that means. There doesn't seem to be a Squid School video about general goals with Specials aside from Inkjet (such as what kinds of Specials there are, when should I be looking to use Specials, what should I be trying to achieve with them) so maybe future video idea?
I don't know, I thought I'd put it out there.
The term retake special comes from flc, who defines it in one of his lectures
@@SquidSchool Oh! Thank you! I'll try and seek that out then.
As a wiper main I’m just sorta miffed the beakon kit got missiles instead of something more cool
Missiles *can* be useful from mid/close quarters (source: I play aggressive Flingza) but it takes a lot of practice to know when it's safe + strategically sound to pop 'em, and you WILL have to accept getting 2-3 target locks max most of the time.
it’s not JUST a cockroach. it’s a cockroach with all the tools it could ask for to let OTHER cockroaches into your walls
This and humpback coming back is a massive revival for missile farmers
They literally show up on the map bro
Splatanas counter all rollers except maybe carbon deco, I get your fear :/
@@MurfyDaMarfi yea they basically outclass all of them, but beacons appear on the turf map so finding them shouldn’t be much of an issue
@@glitchingeclipse9850 I get that, and I try and check the map more often but I still get blindsided sometimes
super chump missiles sounds fun idk how good i accualy would be but it seems good?
Forces displacment then throws cover for your team as well the push in capability of it could be nice with only maybe a tristrike with swim form able to stop it or a well timed booyha bomb
plus the paint chumps put out is insane
What I find interesting is not so much it being on a weapon that can fight with it, but Wipers I observe in competitions want to try to take off-angles and flanks (even though they are extremely few in 3's map designs), and Missiles don't really fit a weapon that wants to try and sneak and break up the opponents lines (which placing Beakons would also imply, as it's not only a jump source, but an intel source as well)
It will be a terror for a time, but likely not at the top levels as it's being made to believe.
People that struggle against missles makes me think they've never had hordes of flyfish on their ass cause no one is trying to get rid of them.
I used to main Neo Sploosh for a while in S2 so I'm very excited for this new Wiper. It's my favorite kit combo because I instinctively know how to use it. I am going to be living in my opponent's walls with this thing.
I was under the assumption that Beakons were good for wiper, but not good for missiles
“And like I always say…. Woomy 👍”
Wiper along with stamper are some of the most fun weapons for me to use, and i don't want the splatana wiper deco to put a bad impression on the class in general and nerf wiper to a depressing state.
tenta missles is on barley any weapons it was inevitable that Nintendo would add another tenta missles weapon
Guys guys it’s *fine*
Wipers get a near perfect kit, and we all get to see the first 300p weapon
Sees this kit on the other team: ahahaha! I'm in danger!
Gem, you left restream chat on again
Honestly, the whole "the gane is dead now!" Reaction i expected no matter what new kit got missles. And the only kit i feel that reaction would have been justifiable was in heavy splatling decos kit
Unrelated question, but is it normal to use a combination of sticks and gyro? I’ve found myself using sticks to turn and gyro for aiming, but I’m wondering how it affects my gameplay.
No, but you ROCK if you are playing like that
It's normal.
Top tier thumbnail
This wiper is just Splatoon 2s Neo Sploosh (or however you spell it) all over again lol
I would be worried about it if Sploosh Neo was actually scary last game
WAIT WHAT YOURE STRATA_GEM?!?!
I am not alarmed by the fact that another weapon has missiles I am alarmed about the fact that Beacon Missiles for any frontline is a garbage kit
This thing definitely killed dapples tho...
Can't wait for "How to Avoid Missiles"
Missles shoud shoot 5 missles at 2 people or 10 missles at 1 person. It's in the name.
Perfect thumbnail of Chicken little
The problem is NOT the speed of spam or the quality of the weapon (which I don't think you're giving enough credit, especially with beacon combined with QR).
It’s like spla2n vanilla splat Dualies all over again.
Just remember guys, *this isn’t S2’s K Shot/89/VJet Missile spam*
what i am worried about is its playstyle, specifically because of beacons.
i have barely touched wiper so i am going to take your words for this one.
(i haven't played s2 or s1)
but i have to admit that is is exiting to see the devs being unconventional with the kitmaking. i REALLY hope they continue like this.
On the positive side, maybe now people will learn how to use beakons
I will not go back to splatoon 2 as I am now a tri-stringer loyalist, and I will wait patiently for a new kit, no matter how long it takes 😤
I think it can rack up a good bit of KOs more than people let on. btw the question being, Does Reef suck or is it just difficult to use for people?
no weapons in the game suck, they just suffer from poor kits or inexperienced players
Yes please I would really appreciate a video on avoiding missiles!! ☺️
Yesss thanks for saying this, wiper needs really a bomb as sub idc if the weapon is that good tho
To practice not dragging missiles on your teammates, just have people play more salmon run 🐻🐻🐻
THANK YOU. i am so annoyed at the instant outrage/worry over a weapon kit!!! missile bad can be pretty funny but oh my gosh people are just taking it so seriously.
Dear god… Missiles are not even threatening past a certain skill level. That’s like saying clash blaster is OP because noobs can’t counter it. You can literally walk away from the missiles with one main of run speed too.
To be completely honest I was hoping for reef slider or kraken. With Auto or suction cup or splat
I pick reef-lux for reef-lux not missiles, when a new reef-lux drops i am never touching missiles again for the rest for my life
I'm annoyed that missiles is getting put on a very strong main weapon.
Unfortunate for backlines & unfortunate for slow weapons? Missiles got 4x effectiveness vs Hydra then lol
Base splatana is way better that’s for sure it’s okay but without a lethal bomb it’s way more passive
SQUID SCHOOL I KNOW YOURE FUCKING SQUID SCHOOL BUT I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS
more worried about light tetras tbh
Finally someone said it, thank you for being rational
As dynamo and hydra main I am loathing this update
im just mad that the main weapon is good, because that means people will use it, Im gonna miss these months of 90% of the matches without any missiles
This is just another flingza but with better mobility in terms of tenta missiles, chill out everyone
I play Flingza Roller, this season makes my main weapon obsolete. :’{
Could you make that video anyway, it would probably be useful for Salmon.
