FortiGate Initial Setup - FortiSwitch and FortiAP

  • Today we're setting up a FortiSwitch and FortiAP to be managed by our FortiGate.
    This is a basic setup and not intended to be in-depth.
    Acronyms:

    Gud jerb! I remember when I first started learning FortiOS. The steps needed to do basic firewall and routing stuff seemed a little convoluted compared to what I'd used over the years. One gotcha in particular was when I decided to tear down an SSL-VPN tunnel and make another one. Learned (through frustration) that you have to make sure to disconnect any and all objects from it before you can delete it. Oh... what a day! haha

    How to access fortiswitch via gui after fortilink configuration?

      The idea is that you will not need to access the FortiSwitch directly after it becomes FortiLink managed.
      There are very few commands that can only be input directly on the FortiSwitch that won't be overridden by the FortiGate.
