Today I woke up past noon, both arms asleep, and this song stuck in my head. I put it on my big stereo speakers and watched out the window as snow blanketed the world around me.
boc and Aphex twin are two of the most elusive acts, and yet they make some of the best music ive ever heard. it would never happen, but it would be nice to have a boc and Aphex twin collab.
I've been listening to these boots for well over 10 years and I love the audience noises that have become part of these otherwise unreleased songs. Maybe my favorite one out of all the live recordings is "WHAT A TREAT!" at the end of this 10:47
That voice like synth is so good, don't know if it's mixed with a vocoder but it doesn't stand still, just comes alive as the track progresses. They should release these unknown tracks.
i guess Im asking randomly but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Jayce Matthias i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
This has been "the boc song" since it was leaked for me and mine. My personal favorite and a testament to what brilliance they're capable of beyond MHTRTC melancholy fuzz
There's sound happening in here that sounds like people talking over the performance. Suddenly hearing that in time with the music is a mind fuck. The mobile ringing is the best example I can think of in this recording although there are probably others. Amazing.
What A Treat indeed!! - So.. This was improvised? - They sampled people in the audience & then vocoded them on the fly! - That's WHY this is NOT any official track, it was improvised on the night! WOW!
"phone is ringing". They walked around in the crowd beforehand recording people. They recorded some girl with her cell phone. Then processed it through their Korg Vocoder and loaded in up on their sampler before the performance along with other samples they made that day of the crowd sounds/talking/cell ringing..
@@alienisotope5773 What the fuuuuck. Brilliant. This explains the phone ringing sample. Thank you Mike or Marcus? infinitely grateful for your service in this incarnation! Cool name... enigmatic af, as per usual lol. Thank you for your service to Gaia and being the beacons that you are to aid those souls who are part of your particular satsang in this ascension of our species. Thank you for shedding light on dark issues in your own enigmatically musical ways, just the right amount of light... 🙏
just casually drop a live unknown track and it's one of the best things i've ever heard...they piss all over most people who are considered "great" and they don't even give a fuck. magnificent bastards!
There used to be a much better quality version of this floating around youtube, and I've been dying to find it. It was paired with a video of the Tokyo railsystem or something.
I'm not sure but I feel that the sample of the woman counting at 7:10 is from the same source Tycho used for Dictaphone's Lament; I could start sleuthing but, priorities...
So, this photo seems to not be at Old Truman Brewery London. The wiki page on this event says that this Warp party was broadcast on the internet. Was this live with visuals or just audio?
can't wait for their next album in 2040
I can't wait for the new album tomorrow's harvest to release on jubne 10th 2013!!! woohoo!
They'll be almost 70 years old by that point
We’re blessed to get anything from these guys they are another galaxy great.
Hopefully my performance enhancing medications keep be stable for the next one.
@@DJAdalaideand it’ll still be old, all things considered
was there - what a night

EMO
I imagine you enthusiastically flailing your limp arms to the beat, yeah?
@@HENN3H Yes. I knocked over the coffee table.
I wish they would tour.
In a huge zeppelin blimp
And they'd float down over your town at night in a big light show, and perform from the blimp

I've referred to it as the "What a treat" song a few times :D

Probably a sample treated as a vocoder.

On acid, it depressed the hell out of me.
The cell ring is a sample, as is the talking. You're not hearing things.
This is a 2001 lighthouse performance. TH-cam is full of different songs from that night.
Machinedrum reworked this track on his soundcloud :
machinedrum/boc-untitled-machinedrum-edit
It's an awesome song.
This is unreal...!

Source?
barely anybody had a mobile phone in 1999
It wasn't just improvised on the cuff, there's a math based construct to the intro.
Just like them to have an Easter egg that nobody would look at.
They really should upload their unreleased stuff. This is really cool!
That's just not, like boc
it aint boc if you don't have to search the wayback machine and scour the internet for content like a fucking hawk
acid memories is a perfect example
This is XYZ and the couldn’t because of sample issues
Welcome to BOC fandom
One of my favorite recordings ever
4:42 "Do you want a line?" Is that Sophie from Peep Show? Haha.
5:13 "I can feel that in my throat!" HAHA

one of the greatest tracks i ever heard like srsly.. i would literally give an arm for them to release this
"focusing all the things focusing on understanding"... anyone on what the voice is saying? wish they would release more of this kinda stuff!
“The clock is ticking-”
This track definitely has a 8 bar dubstep beat looping, which works!
Amazing tune
What in the actual fuck ? This song never ages for me.

I never realized how good the singers of boc are until now.
What a treat
For awhile this was my favourite song . I’m listening at .5 speed right now.

Dude, thank you so much. This was the exact track I was looking for. You're the man/woman/whatevs.

Should’ve been on ABPOITC
Forgot just how good, played this at random then remembered, fuck yeah they really are the best.

I wonder if this is a version of XYZ. The drums sound similar.

It was broadcasted in 2019, however the recording used is a bootleg. I doubt that there’s a soundboard version of this performance.
So is the bootleg still floating around somewhere?
Dubstep before its time
Great Song!

This sounds just like Radiohead, which doesn't make the track less awesome.
