The whole point of debt fund is capital protection. That should always be number 1 priority. If you want return go to equity. Therefore, don't look for higher returns, rather consistent returns with higher capital protection in debt funds.
@@trivediji531That's a good point. But again, FDs don't provide that liquidity. if invested lumpsum in debt funds you can easily start sip in equity funds and keep adding small lumpsums in the debt and keep on repeating the process. The Debt fund will preserve the money and the equity sips will go towards growth.
Mam, Excellent video, Mam what is YTM ,AVG DURATION,Modified duration What is the maturity date to get YTM. In today's scenerio which type of fund for safety & higher return do u recommend. Pl explain with example. I shall be grateful. Regds Sr citizen
I have two queries, but first thanks for the useful information and the honest narrative. My queries: 1/2 When to exit a Debt fund? For example if I do not have a need for cash, then do I continue as long as I want or should I redeem periodically say 5 years, is there a thumb-rule signal for redemption? 2/2 Is there a site that shares daily AUM of Debt Funds. I want to track AUM movements. Thanks.
If I have debt funds in my portfolio to balance out the equity funds then clearly I would need a debt instrument for much longer period than 10 years. So for this will the gilt fund be still a good choice?
Hi Abhinav, You can redeem your money from Mutual Funds anytime as per your needs. There are no charges for redemption however, exit load may be applicable. Thank you
In FD income tax affects your return. If you are coming under 30% slab. Govt takes away your 30% return. But, in fund you will pay 15% LTCG. as per new tax system.
Bro, you would have been right if all the governments of the world played fair. They don't want to loose their power as Fiat currency is controlled by them (by printing more money central banks). That's why Bitcoin will be killed and will die a slow death Bitcoin(crypto currency)will end corruption and no government wants that.
But the problem with crypto is it doesn't have a regulatory body. Fraudulent activities are pretty easy as compared to other asset classes which have proper regulations in place.

It should beat FD at least considering FD is one of the safest options available.
