Personally I've always liked the rotk ones better but only the ones that let me play a single general or a nobody and create a story around them. But I might pick this up on a sale at some point.🙌

My most anticipated game of 2023. More than TOTK, more than pikmin 4, more than Super Mario Wonder. I got so hooked on the Koei strategy games thanks to you and I had to scour internet for a copy of ROTK XIV after being one of those people who said "Jordan can you help me find it" 😂
I enjoyed RTK so much I got a double pack of ROTK 2 and NA 2 for the Japanese 3DS. Even though I cant read it. (Still a great shelf piece!)

One thing I'll definitely struggle with, at least initially, is the switch to the [first name] [last name] display format ever since Koei positioned their releases in the West (so, to be fair, it's been a long time that they've done this now).
I'm so used to the old NA2 where the names were in the (mostly) traditional East Asian order of [last name] [first name] - so, Takeda Shingen, Oda Nobunaga, Akechi Mitsuhide, Togukawa Ieyasu, and so on.
Looking forward to sinking time into this again after about three decades

Just got my physical preorder. I find this the best iteration of the game so far. I like that you can assign officers to do the managing for you making it more realistic because not everyone is perfect and this imperfection makes the game more varied. The ambitions of each officers also gives them personality rather than just numbers on a calculator. The realtime aspect is a good evolution IMO. I hope the next three kingdoms game will have this feature but also retains the gameplay of XIV.

umm, the skirmishes you can do the battle/skirmishes outside of story battles, providing your daimyo is also in the battle, basically just select the clan head and there should be something that says "battle" which then leads into a skirmish/battle.
I really like the look of this series, but haven't really played many RTS games before. I'm a veteran in most other genres, and love the history of the sengoku period, but is that enough to make it RTS noob friendly? Thanks in advance!

My favorite version of this game is Pokemon Conquest...they've added A LOT to this series since the original Genesis/MD game though, Nobunaga is bitchin'!
it is not even close. This game has real time battle. The same version is properly taikou resshiden v because it srpg element in the war gameplay. But you can also role playing doctor, merchant, sword man, tea master, ninja, private pretty much every characters in the game (more than 700) while add can use custom character in taikou. It pretty much sengoku simulator. It's shame that koei did not release taikou v in the west (the game had a remaster for switch in 2022)
If someone really loves Tactical RPGs with amazing graphics, great animations, great story and worth every bucks, it is a really really long game. So far I am 17% of the story and clocking 40 hrs. I am talking about SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays. This game is an easy solid 9 out of 10 in all senses.

The game was always free where I live.
Very similar style to the ps2 era games with some of the better mechanics from SOI Also the map might be the best looking one yet
Not gonna lie, I like the new map, it's different, but I much prefer the style of SOI. I like sober art style and UI and Awakening most definitely doesn't have a simple UI and feel much more like a NATO satellite map. Still, I like it very much, it's different.
@RPGryphus I just like the simplicity of the map it feels much easier to get clear info on whats going on where although that kinds comes at a cost like road improvements being nerfed ect. All in all its like a more streamlined version or SOI with its on quirks and drawbacks. And it has depth to it not like taishi lol that game felt like a mobile port
@@archivegaming3014 Do you know of a great and succinct tutorial video to get myself the basics of NOBU16? I keep trying to play it, but I get demotivated fairly quickly because the screen is so busy and go back playing NOBU14. 😅
