Here Comes 'Mfowethu' Looking And Calling For Brother 'Casper The White Lion'

  • The three Shish Brothers of Casper The White Lion decided that they cant wait any longer for him to return, so they started to walk down the road, into his direction close to Satara Rest-camp, calling for him all the time, not realizing that Casper was busy romancing a Lioness.
    Isn't it WONDERFUL how Lions in a coalition stick together and care about each others well-being. This is proof of that.
    In this video you can see 'Mfowethu' taking on the traffic in his bid to locate his famous Brother, Casper The White Lion that brought the Brothers stardom.
    He walks all the way up to the entrance of Satara Rest Camp in Kruger National Park through the traffic only to realize there are humans around.
    It is then when he decided to ran off into the bush.
    Note: Lions and other wildlife in Kruger Park ARE used to tourist in vehicles BUT not people on foot or out of their vehicles.
    They probably associate that with poachers and hunters which is a BIG problem in all Wildlife Sanctuaries all over Africa AND probably the World.
    PLEASE VISITORS TO KRUGER PARK:
    Respect the Wildlife AND your fellow tourist!
    • Please give the Animals space.
    • Don’t drive next to animals when they walk down the road.
    • If you need to follow them, then do so at a reasonable distance to avoid the stress it might cause the animals by following too closely.
    • Please turn off your car engines at a sighting - The Wildlife and your fellow tourist do not need your AIR and NOISE Pollution.

    Poor lion can't even walk without being followed so close. He's trying to call to his brothers but can't be heard above the din of the cars. I feel bad for the lions having to inhale exhaust fumes. I want people to be more respectful of these lions. There should be a rule in the park about following so close.
    I did read that you don't want people to complain about cars following the lions. I'm all for eco-tourism but I'm not for uncontrolled harassment of the wildlife, especially the lions. Lions are now critically endangered and special care should be taken concerning their exposure to the stress humans put on them. This includes the uncontrolled following of them that inhibits natural behaviors.
    Thank you for posting this video. It has inspired me, and I always appreciate seeing these magnificent, iconic creatures: the African lion!

    • @shellos8
      @shellos8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      From the description under the video. "Please don't complain about the traffic following them. I know its annoying, and some tourist are daring to get that special photo, BUT without paying tourist the Park wont be able to sustain itself and wildlife sanctuaries like Kruger National Park wont exist and Africa Adventures wont be able to share this amazing wildlife videos with you."
      They call it Ecotourism:
      "Ecotourism is a form of tourism involving responsible travel to natural areas, conserving the environment, and improving the well-being of the local people - Wikipedia".
      Imagine - What will the world be without Lions?

    • @MyAfricaAdventures

      I agree, BUT....It is his choice to walk on the paved road build for the tourist. If he don't like the cars he could walk in the bush. You should know that Kruger Park is HUGE with very limited roads for tourist. In my observation the Lions and other wildlife feel somewhat safer close to the roads.....and many lion kills took place on or just off the roads. Why? We can debate on that.....All I can say: There must be a balance. Tourist are NOT allowed to drive off the roads into the veld, how are we going to tell the Animals to stay off the tourists roads?

      @@MyAfricaAdventures Can't they make rules in the park without it getting shut down?

    • @MyAfricaAdventures
      @MyAfricaAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I agree! But how are you going to police the tourist not to follow so close? People are coming to game reserves to see LIONS (They call it Lion Fever). If you make a rule that they are not allowed to follow the lions, then the tourist wont come and there wont be any money to sustain the park, for instance: If there is no money to patrol for poachers day and night Rhino, Elephant and Lions will become extinct within a year. And to have lots of tourists on the road and in the park are a huge deterrent for poachers! Poaching in Kruger Park was at a record high during the lock-down period because there were no tourist to report suspicious people. We can go on and on....But without tourist, good or bad, say goodbye to the wildlife in Africa!!! So what do we want? Wildlife surrounded by noisy tourist and diesel fumes OR no wildlife at all?

There's absolutely no need to tail that close to the animals, no matter how acclimated they are to it. It saddens me that people are so selfish. These animals are free & wild. He's got a paparazzi mere feet in front & back how upsetting this is to me and Im sure others. I love to watch these videos everyday but this is in poor taste to crowd the beautiful like this. Somebody should say something or at least make people give them more space. For safety reasons, especially, wild animals should be treated with more respect! 🤦🏽‍♀️🥺😔

    I’m guessing he saw another Male lion and ran for his life. Hope he got away and finds his brother.

    I get so angry all the cars being so disrespectful to these beautiful animals.We take their land,hunt them,kill them an then put them on some conservative place an call it home.Sad!
