Contrarily to apparently a lot of people, Sticky tabs hold my nails pretty good. With the right prep, that is. Even in my sister in law, they holded her nails for 5 days, and she has two small kids.
ooo that's so good! would love to know what your prep is for them & do you have flat or curved nail beds? mine are flatter so I always find there's a gap around the edge with sticky tabs that water gets into 😭5 days is amazing (esp with 2 kids haha)!!
@@nails.boxofhope I do try to do a prep as if for actual gel nails. Push back and cut all the dead skin, cuticles, all of that. Then I use alcohol on a pad, either 70/75° or even 90° if I find my nails more oily than usually. Nothing touches my nails between that step and the sticky pad. My nails are more curved. My sister-in-law has somewhat flatter ones but they still have a bit of a curve to them. I try to match the best possible press-on to my own nails. you can take away a bit of the arre with the hot water cup trick. Check that one around. You press your press ons to the side of a cup filled with hot water and gently press the plastic so that it widens a bit.

@ I have 3-4 uploads planned so will aim to pencil it in after these! Yes for sure, a bit pricy but a good investment. They also shed less than cheap brushes which is v welcome (I hate finding brush fibres in my gel 😭). My favourite brush brands are Fiote & Kokoist. I used the Icegel round brush in this video for the first time last weekend and the application is really smooth too 🥹 Haha yeah, I noticed Japanese brands tend to use the same packaging per collection & differentiate using swatch stickers!

i have a question, why did you switch to wearing gloves while showing the gel polishes? i've never used gel polishes only worked with normal polishes. Also, I LOVE ALL THE STICKERS AND CHARMSSSS
@@qzb99 sure thing! Gel polishes contain ingredients which can be potential allergens (these can cause permanent acrylate allergies if they make contact with skin). I wear gloves when handling open bottles just in case of any accident or spill; I want to be able to keep making and wearing gel nails so I take a more preventative approach ☺️ let me know any other questions, & thank you so much for watching! 💕

I went back to my normal polishes, though with normal polishes I cant really do every thing that others do with gel polishes😕
@qzb99 I think it’s a good thing that you listened to your gut. if you’re able to, I would recommend buying gels from a reputable brand. It’s difficult to tell what the percentages are of the allergen chemicals in cheap brands so those hold a bit more risk. I link to a gel safety playlist in my descriptions if you’re interested in learning more about gel products before getting into them ☺️💕 I get you though! I used to use nail polish only when I was doing nail art as a teenager, gel polish definitely enables a lot more techniques and styles!
