- There'll Always Be an England" is an English patriotic song, written and distributed in the summer of 1939, which became highly popular following the outbreak of the Second World War. It was composed and written by Ross Parker and Hughie Charles.

I think every body in UK should be made to take a DNA test and those whose ancestry cant be traced more than 300 year can be deported as an when the need arises, also those who cant trace this lineage shouldn't be allowed into civil service, positions of power as in councils, home office, border agencies, higher tier Media and all things detrimental to the survival and workings of Britain and UK..

This stirring song takes me "right back" to my childhood when I stayed with my Gran and Granddad during part of long summer school hols. Happily feeding the horses in the fields at the back of their house and playing in their long garden picking raspberries from their bushes for teatime with custard. My Granddad was an old soldier - who had 'returned' from WW1 but his health was ruined. He would sometimes play this song about England on their piano and we used to sing it loudly (the nice lady next door used to hear us and told us she sang with us!) Granddad was a tough man but was a lovely Granddad to me and my siblings. Lovely memories of childhood and being patriotic to the country we were born in. To those now who think patriotism is a dirty word, I can only say that it made us as children feel happy and comfortable in our skins, because we felt pride and strived to help our country - like my Granddad had done in his own youth and then again he was also involved in some capacity in WW2. The Scots, Welsh and Irish and others fought in those two world wars also, but please don't let England lose its own identity. I hope There "will" always be an England. Patriotism simply means to love your country, which is admirable and NOT something to be pushed aside.

England is the only country in the world witout its own elected assembly.
The UK has a parliament that rules on all matters relating to England and some pertaining to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. By convention MPs from the other nations don't vote on matters that only affect England.

Whatever your claims are, the absolute facts are, England is the only county in the world without its own elected assembly, and England is the only UK counry never to have been asked, as a nation, about devolution. The assumption being that we English wish to remain in the UK, when we do not.

The union jack is there because we English are always a mixture of both North and South Ireland and Scots and goodness knows what else! Seldom is an Englishman pure English!
