I was at that concert, it was May of 83 in So Cal, I had about one month left in the Marine Corps, the concert lasted for three days I was there all three days, my friends told me I had a great time !! 🤘🤪🤘
Mister Rock-n-Roll, trust me I am 56 years old, a metal head banger from the 80's and Priest is the best... I saw them live in Portland Maine @ Cumberland Country Civic Center in I think it was '85 or '86. Best concert ever. It was the Defenders of the Faith tour, Mountain (Mississippi Queen) was there backup group. When my buddy and I left after the show we were literally yelling at each other because we could not hear other talking normally. Was it worth it? You bet your ass it was. If you get a chance you have to check out another "Live" song from their "Fuel for Life Tour, Some Heads are Going to Roll is the song and it was also when they were in their prime. Guarantee you won't be disappointed. Love you reaction on the Johnny Be Good video!
Yeah man Judas is always awesome. Brings me back to the 90's when me and my buddies were hellraisers wearing industry chains for a belt and studs allover the clothes mostly drunk all the time too....good thing i grew up lol 🤣🤟.....still great times and great music
Got my tix for an October show as well...seen em six or seven times over the years, first in 1980. Any good Sabaton suggestions? Don't know this band much past a couple of cuts...gimme some good ones please people...I'm doin a Sabaton "crash-course."
This is the only band I wanted to see here in Australia. At the time they came, I had alot happening in my life. Couldn't afford to go. I regret it now. 😢 I have seen Metallica, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. Absolutely fantastic!!!
As a "Boomer" I get to brag that I saw allllll the cool bands back in the day...and I do mean alll of them. Priest is my #1 band. Never missed a tour since 1981, and even though I wasn't at the US Festival(this show) I saw them on this tour(82,Screaming for Vengeance) and they are the BEST band live compared to everybody else back then. Only band that compared was Queensryche at their peak. Now its....Lovebites. Studio version is best played at 11 so everyone in the neighborhood hears it. It was my favorite song in 82 when I first heard it, and my brain exploded.
Dude I was front and center in the sweltering heat, 13 years old...And this was the SECOND time I have seen them, saw them first the year before in 82 they played on my Bday then.., haven't missed a show since, well except when they kicked Halford out, was not a fan of Ripper. Then Metal Masters tour baby.. OMG!!!! check those vids out if you can....Much LOVE! You have kick ass time, although KK, Glenn, and obviously Dave will not be there, but the replacements are pretty cool. Saw them right before all this covid mess hit here in Los Angeles 2 years ago and they still kicked ass, his voice just gets stronger and stronger.. I am 52 now and I still have the buttons I made from the pics of this show (from all the old school metal mags they had back in the day), and I still CRANK this is my car.. I get the metal head salute every time!
I never did see these guys in concert but I remember the Screaming for Vengeance t-shirts that a bunch of friends got from that concert. One of the cooler ones I though. My fav Judas Priest song is “Turbo Lover”. If ya haven’t heard that one, it’s a worthy listen for sure. One of their more popular radio songs. Enjoy!
I took my wife to see Priest with Saxon opening up for them in Tacoma in 2018 and Painkiller and Saints in Hell were my two favorite songs along with Turbo. Halford hit a note so high my hearing quit working for a millisecond. I was just freaking 😲 then Tipton cane out on stage for the last 4 songs a perfect night of Metal. 🤘🤘🤘 one if my favorite non Halford Priest songs is Hell is Home, just a great Metal song that's very underrated.
You'll surely enjoy the ride - I was lucky to see them in the late 70's and during the 80's several times - mostly in company of other huge names like KISS or the debuting Iron Maiden with Paul Di Anno and then Bruce Dickinson. Same period for AC/DC still with Bon Scott, then Brian on the Back in Black tour. Amongst many other great early metal bands, the early to mid 80's were premium brand for those :D I wouldn't give those memories for anything ♥
im always impressed with Rob but here he is especially masterful. his voice , his stage presence (he reminds me of a metal hitler , with the hand gestures and movements on stage) but that scream at then end. wow!
Fun factoid: Priest formed in 1969!!! They have been at it for 53 effing YEARS!! So just remember that although they truly are Metal GODS, you are watching Priest from 40 years ago, which, I'm gonna assume is more than a few years before you were even born brother! Rob Halford is now 70 years old! Still, I have no doubt the show will be awesome. Enjoy it! \m/ \m/
Its raw Judas Priest here . Proto thrashy songs with a kind of funky back beat and a pre hardcore attitude , punky bite to it . Dave holland kills it and show also few of real chops of Trapeze era that were too often toned down by Judas Priest unfortunally .
That is live. That is not unbelievable. That is Priest. That is Rob Halford. Edit: I wonder what kind of a melt-down this guy would have on something like Rapid Fire, Beyond the Realms of Death, Nightcrawler and plenty more.
You're seeing Sabaton live? If you go backstage you gotta asking Joakim what did his poor leg ever do to him.... LOL. BTW I was wondering why Rob Halford looked so different. It's what happens when you realize that this was taken in 1983.
Man everyone telling you to listen to this song listen that song fuck that listen to the whole albums brother Judas priest have some of the best albums of all time not just listen to this and that song you need to go deep with its a Saturday night and the priest are back looks like we got about 13000 heavy metal maniacs here this evening and I said some heads are gonna role
Rob does not pronouce "vengeance" but "venniance". Its just more "sadistic"! I'd say this song more or less a prototype for the later "painkiller" in his high pitch abilities. I used to play this album for so long after its release - one of Jp's best album integral.
Dude>>>>>NEVER pause a Priest song!!! wait till the end then comment!! that first pause was nothing but fake drama on your part. We don't need that!! respect the BAND!!!
You won't get to see true Priest live unfortunately. KK (blonde guitarist) left and Glenn (other guitarist) developed Parkinson's and had to retire from touring. However, you'll still be treated to Rob, the ever present Ian Hill on bass and Painkiller's Scot Travis on drums. Richie Faulkner has been an excellent replacement for KK as well. If you're lucky you may see Glenn pop on for a song or two at the end (some of the easier material).
Looks like you got a lot of basic stuff out of the way, priest is great. however it's time you looked at Jinjer Picies or Opeth Ghosts of Perdition, Devin Townsend Deadhead

Rob Halford, o melhor vocalista de metal do mundo
The whole album is a masterpiece of awesome guitar and killer vocals! 🤯🤘😎
Crazy to think he is in his 70s and still touring and still sounds good.
Just look at the wall of Marshalls behind them! YEESSSSSS!!
Halford, dio, king diamond, klaus, the best voices ever. Great
he had the greatest charisma on stage. if you have a fear of public speaking, study rob halford's vocal delivery
Going to see them with Sabaton in October, OKC. Will be my first Priest show!!
Same!!! I’m going to see them in LA! first concert btw🤘🤘🤘

The queen has spoken
Really, loved the 80'S. Metal god
I saw them in concert in the 80's! They were awesome!❤
I saw these guys at this show (US Festival) in 1983. They hit the stage at about 2:00 in the afternoon in 100 degree weather. Priest forever!
That 83 Us festival crowd size was bananas!
Full leather in 100 degree heat.
I saw them a few months ago, awesome show definitely a must for anyone who likes metal. Even at 71 Rob Halford still has it and rocked all night.
You REALLY need to see and here DIO, with the song LAST IN LINE, from the LIVE Concert in 1984!😊👍
You are my new favorite reviewer! Your halarious! Love to meet you some day :) Keep Rockin!

You should have done the Memphis 1982 version, he does the scream at the beginning like in the album.
82 version is also more brutal also
Rob halfod vuelve a demostrar que es mejor vocalista de metal de la historia, y punto pelota.
Saw them on there pain Killer tour with Pantera opening up...Take about a killer show
That is live. That is not unbelievable. That is Priest. That is Rob Halford. Edit: I wonder what kind of a melt-down this guy would have on something like Rapid Fire, Beyond the Realms of Death, Nightcrawler and plenty more.
You should also check Rob solo career, Halford - Silent screams (Live at Rock in Rio) its awesome song :)
You're seeing Sabaton live? If you go backstage you gotta asking Joakim what did his poor leg ever do to him.... LOL. BTW I was wondering why Rob Halford looked so different. It's what happens when you realize that this was taken in 1983.
JP ❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Amazing reaction as usual! Please check out Dynamite by the Scorpions
I keep telling him to do some Scorps. NOW!, Stone in my Shoe, I Can't Explain, ..... YOU know the list is LONG....
@@rubyvolt So many classics and you know they can't just go do the old man thing and go fishing. I think I heard they were writing more new material.
Love Priest live. My dream right now is to see Maiden and Priest together.
Dialith - Sound of your voice, ignite the sky and libra. At least one of this, please.
The hat is coming off, I repeat the hat is off, Priest detected!

Live with early 80s recording equipment.... Not bad, eh?
Watch Judas priest with Tim Ripper Owens in BURN IN HELL
motley crue played the same show, and watch how they skkd
Dude>>>>>NEVER pause a Priest song!!! wait till the end then comment!! that first pause was nothing but fake drama on your part. We don't need that!! respect the BAND!!!
Don't expect to hear this song when you see them live, they don't play it anymore. Rob as great as he is just can't hit the major screams now.
Good version, but live 82 Is Perfection
You won't get to see true Priest live unfortunately. KK (blonde guitarist) left and Glenn (other guitarist) developed Parkinson's and had to retire from touring. AIN'T NO AUTOTUNE SHIT THERE!!!!!!
I got scared when you went all Gene Simmons.....
That's not Memorex...that's Live
Sadly the current Judas Priest has no original guitar player. Check out KKs Priest they have atleast one of the original players
Looks like you got a lot of basic stuff out of the way, priest is great. however it's time you looked at Jinjer Picies or Opeth Ghosts of Perdition, Devin Townsend Deadhead
