It’ll forever be insane to me that this song isn’t more popular, I heard it so many years ago while I was struggling and it’s just been my favourite song since. The fact it only has 48k views and 20 comments astounds me, I hope to get to see it performed live one day
Possibly the best song about depression ever. The first two lines of the chorus just sum it up perfectly and choke me up a bit. It echoes Stephen Fry's words about depression. 'If you know someone who is depressed, please resolve never to ask them why. Depression is not a straightforward response to a bad situation; depression just is, like the weather.'
I have only just heard this song, I was speaking to a friend and she sent me this and, honestly, I'm no writer but this is EXACTLY and I mean EXACTLY how I feel when I wake up some days and feel that cloud pressing in on me yet again. When you're feeling ok you think, this is it, no more depression then before you know it it starts creeping back and I just think fuck me how much more of this can I take.... but I have to keep on keeping on and man is it tiring 😫
As a long time sufferer from depression there's only one thing I can say about this song..... Spot fu*King on Gaz. Its, exactly like this. (funny, this lad writes so many songs about my life, maybe that's, why I love his stuff so much)
Great video mate... I was hooked when I heard you do this song at The Coopers last year - It really struck a chord with me which, to me, is the sign of great songwriting. Keep it up - hope to see you play again soon. All the best, Jamie R Hawkins :)
has a feel of supernatural about the video. Half expected to see Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles appear. Now if only you could get the song sent to them then you'd break America :-)
